Yet Another La Marque Controversy: The Police Chief

The controversies continue in La Marque. This time it is the Police Chief Randall Aragon but remember in America you are innocent until proven guilty. (LOL)

Unfortunately La Marque has overtaken League City as the drama queen of Galveston County. The City Manager recently resigned and has been charged with a couple of misdemeanors and one felony. Council Member Joseph Lowry has been a flurry of lawsuits, recalls, police reports, censures, back taxes, and allegations about fudging an application to receive $50,000 in COVID money. Now the Police Chief is under scrutiny concerning his own fudging

Back in 2016 Aragon resigned from his police chief job in Fairbanks Alaska after an investigation of conflict-of-interest allegations. In 2019 he was fired from his job at Truth or Consequences New Mexico. And now there are questions about his application for Police Chief in La Marque.

It is believed, based upon a search for Aragon’s Law Enforcement license, that he claimed to have had a valid license when in fact it had been inactive since 2015. A letter from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) raised considerable issues with his appointment including the lack of a background check. You can see the documents below.

What is a bit funny is that Lowry, who is also under suspicion for incorrect information on an application, questioned the city about Aragon’s hiring. You can see that email below. Of course he claims Aragon is “corrupted” like every other elected official in the Galveston County. LOL.
