WTH is wrong with Texans?

February 3, 2022

You’re freezing your butt off. You’re paying a tax for the electrical grid upgrade that was supposed to have happened in 2003. You’re paying high electricity prices due to deregulation in 2003. You’re paying outrageous home insurance prices due to the failure of insurance deregulation in 2003. You’re paying some of the highest property taxes in the country. You’re paying high college and trade school prices ever since Abbot and company deregulated college tuition in 2003.

And over 75,000 of friends, family, and fellow Texans have died from COVID partially due to Abbott’s politicizing of COVID.

Yet you’re still voting for him? WTH is wrong with you?

Tx Gov Greg Abbott advises parents of school kids on COVID: Don't Look Up.

January 3, 2022

Greg Abbott’s lack of leadership on the COVID crisis is simply breath taking.

After the epic mismanaging of the COVID crisis Greg Abbott has only one option when it comes to advising parents when returning their kids to school, don’t look up. Just keep your head in the sand, don’t believe the statistics, don’t believe the doctors, and whatever you do do not believe the experts. Just send your kids back to school and let’s see what happens.

Greg Abbott had a once in a century opportunity to lead Texas through this crisis. All he had to do was to listen to the experts in the field, watch the statistics, and work with the leaders of the community to keep our state open while doing it responsibly. Instead he followed trump and politicized the crisis pitting Texans against Texans. Based upon stupidity he tied the hands of County Commissioners, Mayors, and School Boards prohibiting them from taking action to protect their community and kids in school based upon science and the experts in the field.

Because of Greg Abbott’s childish stupidity 76,000 Texans have lost their lives. He may not be responsible for all of the deaths but he contributed to it. All he had to do was to lead, listen to the experts, and act like a gdamn adult.

He didn’t. Just like trump.

Why do you have to be a dick about everything? CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen

November 10, 2021

CCISD Trustee, Scott Bowen, is a Qanon republican. He won a seat on the CCISD school board and has served his party well by disrupting, disrespecting, and being a dick about everything. His latest childish dickishness was on full display, and on camera, at the last public comment session of the committee monthly meeting. Video below.

The public comment period of the CCISD meetings has become a Qanon free for all with conspiracy theorists, unqualified individuals giving medical advice, and former candidates like Christine Parizo who lost by 25 points whining about losing by 25 points. Those in the audience clap and cheer even though clapping and cheering is against the rules committee, and against common sense decency of civilization. It’s what we call in Texas a shitshow.

Bowen showed his dickness when a parent was distributing a document to each of the Trustees. She wore a mask because I believe she was being careful about COVID. As she passed by Bowen he played coughed on her then turned to Trustee Cottrell who joined him for a good laugh. It was all quite funny poking fun at a parent concerned about bringing a deadly virus back to her kids at home. Bowen just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a dick about everything. He did a great job.

I wonder if Bowen coughed on Scott Apley’s wife and infant child during his funeral. Apley was another Qanon, COVID denier, Dickinson City Councilman, and member of the Republican Party Executive Committee. He died of COVID.

Bowen jumps into the Bag of Dicks with Mark Henry, Randy Weber, Steve Stockman, the Galveston Young Republicans, Ted Cruz, Louie Gohmert, and many many more.

Texas Constitutional Amendment: Allowing churches to spread COVID

September 27, 2021

You would think a place of worship would be more concerned about the safety of their sheep than the right to fleece them of their money.

On November 2 there will be an election to decide amendments to the Texas Constitution. Proposition Number 3 will appear on the ballot as

The constitutional amendment to prohibit this state or a political subdivision of this state from prohibiting or limiting religious services of religious organizations during a time of an uncontrollable infectious disease.

Ok. That’s not exactly the wording but it is clear that the republicans in office did not like the lock downs that affected the collection of money at church services during the COVID crisis. I can’t remember when a state or political subdivision has ever had to instruct a church to do something in order to protect the general population. Now with a constitutional amendment churches can gather even during an infectious outbreak, allowing the sheep to infect others in their family and friends circles.

If we ever had another pandemic, or if we can’t seem to shake the current one, there are members of churches who actually believe that gathering together to pray will provide protection. Science has proven otherwise.

It’s sad that our elected officials from a state that has lost over 64,000 Texans to COVID can’s seem to grow the fuck up and do what is right.

Back to School! Back to the ER.

August 16, 2021

Thanks to Greg Abbott for his incredible leadership at our time of need. Good luck to all of our teachers, parents, and students. Let’s hope your thoughts and prayers can overcome science and protect you, your family, and friends from spreading COVID.

Letter to State Representative Dennis Paul on the death of his friend Scott Apley

Texas Governor Greg Abbott's response to the COVID Crisis. It's to die for.

#NoPlaceButTexas is no longer a slogan. It's a joke.

March 7, 2021

Texas has a history of cute sayings such as “Come and Take it”, “We do things bigger in Texas”, “Don’t Mess with Texas”, “Thank god for Mississippi”, and my favorite “No Place But Texas”.

No Place but Texas was once a slogan celebrating the unique qualities of living in Texas, although I question if we are really unique. Much like every other state in the country we band together to help each other during times of need. We help neighbors rebuild fences after a hurricane. We provide supplies to those in need. We donate money. None of that is unique to Texas.

Now No Place but Texas is nothing but a joke. Looney Louie Gohmert, #CancunCruz, Trump Wannabe Greg Abbott, indicted Attorney General Ken Paxton, leadership failures, science deniers, guns on demand, no place but Texas. Literally.

Recently the “Energy Capitol of the World” was plunged into darkness during the winter storm of 2021. While the rest of the country was hunkered down enjoying their power and water, most of Texans were freezing their asses off unable to flush the toilet. Over 50 died. Republican elected officials were silent before and after the freeze leaving the Democrats to help those in need while #CancunCruz fled the state to weather the storm in Mexico with his hot wife and loving 10 year old whining brats. Yep. No Place But Texas.

From Reuters

In 2003 besides deregulation electricity, which brought the freeze higher electricity rates for consumers, Texas deregulated college tuition and home insurance. Like electricity rates the cost of college skyrocketed and home insurance is out the roof. No Place But Texas.

Recently Greg Abbott has ended the mask mandate and will fully open the State 2 months too son, just like he did last summer which resulted in over 45,000 Texans losing their lives. His failures reminds me of another saying “All hat and no cattle”.

Luckily for the Republican Party, who ushered in this Texas sized stupidity, “We do things bigger in Texas”. We have the biggest idiots in the country who will forget about how they froze their nuts off or how much they are paying for electricity or tuition or home insurance. They will forget about the 45,000 who died of COVID or the 50 who froze to death. In 2022 they will again vote for the very people who did this to them. Again, No Place But Texas.

Well as the saying goes in Mississippi, “Thank god for Texas”.

Why? Houston Firefighter Union President attending Super Spreader event

October 31, 2020

You have to wonder what the hell Patrick “Marty” Lancton the President of the Houston Firefighters Union is thinking.

The Harris County Republican Party is advertising a rally at the Bayou Event Center in Houston this Sunday. Lancton is one of the featured speakers. He might want to reconsider his participation. He should be reminded that the chair, Keith Nielsen, posted a racist meme after the killing of George Floyd. For this he lost his job as the Pasadena Planning Commissioner and many have asked him to resign including Congressman Crenshaw, Brady, McCaul, Lt Governor Patrick, and 149 members of the Executive Committee.

The event has attracted The Who’s Who of Who’s Dat including Miss Venezuela 1994. The lead attraction is a congressman from Galveston county. So far none of the other republicans running in the area are willing to share the stage or the meme with Nielsen.

You have to wonder what Lancton’s thought process is. He is the president of the firefighters union representing a diverse group of men and women in one of the most diverse cities in the country. He has no business associating with the chair who has this racist stain in his past.

I’ve asked for a comment from the Union’s Communications Director.

As predicted, the Coronavirus is back. And it's not good.

October 30, 2020

The graphs speak for themselves. Unlike the other countries the United States never got the virus under control. Lead by Trump the country was hastily reopened. Kids and teachers went back to school and many did not take this as serious as the expects asked us to. So here we are. Europe is beginning to shut down again. Republicans here in the US will drive us into the ER rooms all the way till Jan 20. Yesterday the USA had a record 91,000 new cases with Texas leading the race again.

Go vote.
