The so called “Conservative Christian” is standing by his racist tweet:

So far the Houston Public Media and Click2Houston have asked for a comment from Senator Mayes Middleton concerning his racist tweet directed at Representative Gene Wu. He and his staff are silent. Calls to his office in League City are now directed to a recording. Callers to his office in Austin are told “I haven’t talked with him about this issue….yada yada yada”. From the Houston Public Media:
“Senator Middleton represents a very diverse population in the Bay Area,” the group said. “The state does not need an individual running for the highest legal office in the state who spouts off racist comments. Middleton claims to be a conservative and devout Christian but making racist comments are neither a conservative value nor a Christian value.”
Mayes represents [sic] the Bay Area of Harris County, Galveston County and part of Brazoria. He has been in office for 6 years and has never met with his constituents. His Austin office (512) 463-0111 rarely answers or return calls. His local office (281)332-1000 is answered by a recording. His district has been hammered with out of control home insurance rates and yet he has ignored the issue. He has been invited to speak with homeowners on multiple times and has refused. He spends his time meeting with only the business community.
In 2019 he spent $2 Million of his own money to win a House seat. He spent another $1.6 Million of his own money to win his Senate seat and he intends to spend $20 Million of his own money to win the Texas Attorney General’s seat. See a pattern here? Middleton is nothing but a white, rich, privileged, and now, racist republican.
Middleton claims to be a conservative Christian. He has sponsored bills concerning vouchers, prayer in schools, allowing preachers to be school counselors, posting “In god we Trust” signs the Ten Commandments in all public schools. As the article says, racism is NOT a conservative nor a Christian value.
Senator Middleton should be ashamed of himself and should apologize to Representative Wu, his church, and his constituents or he should step down, take a knee, and ask for forgiveness from his Lord and Savior.
