The high cost of Texas gun culture. Robb Elementary Uvalde

Most Uvalde residents don’t seem to care about the 19 children killed at Robb Elementary School but maybe they will care about how much this shooting is going to cost them.

It is sad. After the worst shooting in the history of Texas that shattered the lives of 21 families the voters in Uvalde stood up, took matters into their own hands, and voted for the very elected officials who refuse to stop gun violence. They voted for Greg Abbott who signed bills proclaiming Texas is a 2nd Amendment sanctuary city. They voted for elected officials who are good at offering worthless thoughts and prayers but nothing else. And now it’s going to cost them. According to ABC:

Mata and other victims’ families are waiting for the buildings to be torn down, while the community grapples with mixed emotions over plans to demolish the school and replace it with a new one elsewhere in Uvalde.

Robb Elementary School is scheduled to be demolished and taxpayers are on the hook to pay for the demolition, and the building of a new school. The cost of a new elementary school is estimated to be over $30 Million. Texas has a habit of breaking things then making Texans pay for it. After breaking the electricity grid in 2021 Greg Abbott demanded upgrades to the system, upgrades that should have been performed decades ago. Then he signed a bill to pass that cost onto consumers. Texans bent over and took it.

Greg Abbott and his gun nut buddies provided an 18 year old easy access to an AR15 and he killed 19 children at Robb Elementary. Now you get to pay for it.

No Place But Texas.
