Trump’s Newspaper Endorsements: A 2024 Outlook

September 11, 2024

After his unhinged performance against Vice President Harris it will be interesting to see if any newspapers will endorse him in 2024.

In 2016 only 7 out of 154 newspapers across the country endorsed Trump for President including The Washington Times, The Topeka Capital-Journal, The Oklahoman, The Florida Times, Savannah Morning News, Santa Barbara News, Las Vegas News Journal, and the Republican American.

In 2020 only 4 of these 7 endorsed him again but he picked up a total of 14 endorsements out of 154. Since then Trump was impeached again, started a riot and watched the rioters for over 3 hours storm the United States Capitol. He has been indicted on over 80 felony counts in Georgia, Florida, New York, and Washington DC, and has been convicted on 34 counts concerning his 30 second romping with a porn star.

He has been found to have sexually assaulted and defamed a woman costing him over $100 Million. He has been fined over $450 Million for fraud in New York.

And then he got his ass kicked in the debate. Bad. Real Bad. Even Fox News said so. You can visit WikiPedia to see who the 154 newspapers endorsed in 2016 and 2020.

League City sign wars.

September 10, 2024

Leave it to Mayor Pro Tem Justin Hicks.

Signs do not win elections. Sign wars are petty and are left to the candidate that doesn’t have much of a campaign to run. Justin Hicks is one of these candidates. A new Political Action Committee, the KickHicks.com PAC, was formed to oppose the reelection of Hicks. You should take a look at the website. It has all of Hicks’ bankruptcy documents, articles and more.

Hicks’ took some time from reaching out to constituents, house parties, and other real campaign activities to play sign games. (Hicks’ really isn’t doing any of this) The Kick Hicks PAC has signs placed near Hicks’ signs questioning his ability to be a “fiscal conservative” while being mired in debt and bankruptcy. Hicks’ campaign and supporters had to play games by cutting down the Kick Hicks signs or placing his signs in order to cover the oppositions signs. It’s petty. It’s a waste of time and all you ever get is bad publicity or a two bit blogger posting about it. I am posting about it.

Hicks’ opponent has place signs throughout the district and is meeting with voters in the area. He isn’t playing games. He is acting like a grownup.

More indictments concerning voter fraud against a Harris County Republican Party donor

September 9, 2024

“It’s like a nightmare, isn’t it? It just keeps getting worse and worse.” –The Color of Money

Last year Steven Hotze, the megadonor of the Harris County Republican Party and chief election denier was indicted on multiple counts concerning……wait for it….voter fraud. According to the Texas Tribune:

Conservative activist Steven Hotze on Wednesday was indicted on two felony charges related to his alleged involvement in an air conditioning repairman being held at gunpoint in 2020 during a bizarre search for fraudulent mail ballots that did not exist, according to his attorney, Gary Polland.

A former police officer was also indicted for actually holding the repairman at gunpoint. In August of this year Hotze was charged with two more counts, Case # 188121801010 – 3 AGG ROBBERY-DEADLY WPN and Case # 188121901010 – 3 ENGAGE ORG CRIME USE/EXHIBIT DW. These are some very serious charges which could lead to Hotze spending a lot of time in jail and losing his “Doctors” license.

Hozte has also been sued by the repairman for an unspecified amount. You can read the entire petition against Hotze here. It is a great read.

Exposing The Texas Coalition for Affordable Insurance Solutions

September 9, 2024

They are NOT our friends.

In 2002 the top insurance companies in Texas formed the Texas Coalition for Affordable Insurance Solutions (TCAIS) in preparation for massive insurance reform in the 2003 legislature session. They are not registered with the Texas Ethics Commission so we cannot see how much money these companies have poured into this organization. In 2003 they successfully lobbied against consumers resulting in major changes to insurance laws. Twenty years later the insurance industry is in disarray with consumers paying the price. Now they are at it again.

TCAIS is composed of 6 of the largest insurance companies in Texas, Allstate, Farmers, Farmers Bureau, USAA, Nationwide, and State Farm. Of these only USAA will offer policies in the Bay Area and their rates are ridiculous. USAA quoted me $15,000/year with a $13,000 deductible. The others would not offer a policy.

TCAIS is lobbying our elected officials already. They have been invited to speak at every insurance meeting to date. Floyd Beaman, their spokesman, was recently on KPRC making excuses for the insurance industry and telling us to “shop around” as if that was some kind of new thing to do. In a hearing last month they used the word “unsustainable” something we have been saying for 10 years now.

So if you want to have any say in how insurance will be reformed you need to contact the State Affairs Committee and demand reforms that will lower your premiums and set deductibles at a reasonable rate. You can do that here.

The Fraternal Order of Police. A bunch of a**holes with badges.

In the words of Rage Against the Machine “Some of those who work forces and the same who burn crosses.”

Trump spoke to the FOP and accepted their endorsement even after he vowed to pardon the insurrectionist who beat the hell out of police on Jan 6. He, once again, talked about voter fraud even though there is no evidence of voter fraud, and the attendees loved it. He mocked Nancy Pelosi’s husband who was viciously attacked by a home invader with a hammer. Those in attendance laughed about it.

Trump has been the poster child for lawlessness and disorder and yet the police in the audience didn’t care. He is a felon, found guilty on 34 felony counts. He has been indicted for 50+ more felony charges including obstruction of justice, conspiracy to commit fraud, inciting a riot and more and yet they don’t care. He instigated an attack on the United States Capitol which killed fellow police officers. He watched for 3 hours as police officers were being attacked, crushed, and beaten with United States flags and yet they didn’t care.

These assholes have badges. They are suppose to enforce law and order. They are suppose to protect us from attacks by rioters, insurrectionists, home invaders, and lawless behavior. We are suppose to put signs in our lawn saying “Back the Blue” showing our support for these assholes.

The FOP claims to have over 300,000 members. That is a lot of assholes. With badges. I cannot believe they are all in support of trump. There are just too many good police officers in our community.

Texas lawmakers want to hear your thoughts on home insurance policies

September 7, 2024

From KPRC Houston:

Consumer advocate John Cobarruvias urges people impacted by rising claims, non-renewals, or other issues to submit comments to state legislators.

“This is your opportunity to make something happen in our favor,” Cobarruvias said. “Our premiums are too high. Our deductibles are out the roof. And this is not sustainable. We’ve got to do something.”

KPRC interviewed Floyd Beaman. He is a lobbyist for Texas Coalition for Affordable Insurance Solutions. They are composed of 6 of the largest insurance companies in Texas, USAA, Farmers, Farmers Bureau, Nationwide, Allstate, and State Farm. Of those only USAA will write policies in the Bay Area. The insurance companies see blood in the water and will lobby heavily to make it easier for them to make money and charge you more.

So what can you do?
Either stand up and speak out, or sit down and shut the hell up. The first hearing will be by the State Affairs Committee on Sept 17, 2024. Details on how you can participate in person or by sending comments can be found here. You can send your comments electronically at this link: https://comments.house.texas.gov/home?c=c450 Fill out the top form then scroll down and select “Economic challenges impacting insurance premiums”.

Here are some tips on what you should include in your comments:

  • The area of the state you live in such as coastal counties
  • What you are currently paying for insurance
  • The costs of any new policies or bids
  • Your Deductibles in dollars
  • Any claims you have had
  • Cost of repairs
  • If your current company will not renew your policy
  • Keep it short and with a statement of “Our premiums are too high. Our deductible are out the roof. This is not sustainable”.
  • Stay non confrontational. Refrain from “I’m going to vote you out if you don’t do something” type of comments
  • Demand that they take action

Thoughts and Prayers. Again?

September 5, 2024

Goddamnit. I’m tired of thinking and praying!

Another school shooting this time in Georgia killing two kids and two teachers. A 14 year old had access to an AR 15 style weapon and changed the lives of 5 families. He is being charged with murder and will probably spend the rest of his life in jail while the other families spend the rest of their lives missing their loved ones.

Of course the Republican Party is saying “It’s too early to discuss gun laws”. On cue the local congressman Mike Collins echoed the talking points just like Ted Cruz did after the Uvalde shooting, and Santa Fe, and El Paso, and Ft Hood, and Sutherland Springs, and others. And like Cruz, Collins will do what everyone else does after a mass shooting, he will buy a Apalachee Strong t-shirt, offer thoughts and prayers, forget, and do absolutely nothing to curb gun violence in schools, concerts, parades, churches, synagogues, Walmarts, and other public places.

Georgia Congressman Mike Collins has a history of violence in his campaign ads. He thinks it is cute or tough to shoot guns and advocate for violence. Well look what happened to your community, you sick fuck. You can view his ads below.

Do us a favor and go buy a fucking t-shirt and shut the fuck up.

Who is running against Corporal Chaos, Justin Hicks?

September 3, 2024

Glad you asked. (Even though you didn’t)

Joe Italiano has filed to run against Justin Hicks for League City Council. Italiano is currently serving on the League City Finance Committee a perfect assignment based upon his resume, which speaks for itself. See below.

Unlike Hicks who is was mired in bankruptcy and legal battles for credit card debt, Italiano is a fiscal conservative (most people are) and would bring his decades of experience as a CPA and Chief Financial Officer to the city. Take a minute to review his resume below.

Beating a dead horse: League City Mayor Pro Tem Justin Hicks

August 30, 2024

I hate to beat a dead horse. It makes me look petty. But then again, I can be petty.

Yesterday Justin Hicks disclosed who loaned his campaign the $12,000 he reported in July. Turns out it was from his wife, Deborah Hicks, who is also his campaign treasurer, who also forgot to list the loan on his campaign finance report. So that mystery is solved unless the Texas Ethics Commission wants to pursue this further to determine where the money actually came from. They have the power to subpoena bank records to determine if someone else provided the money for the loan but usually they will call it a day, assess a fine, and move on.

But the discussion on Facebook has led to more questions about Hicks’ bankruptcy case. According to public records Hicks was required to disclose all his assets including back accounts, cars, and other items like guns. (yes guns. Go figure) Documents submitted to the Court shows he did not have any guns or $12,000 in cash. If you recall Hicks had his house up for sale during his bankruptcy on Zillow. Zillow posted pictures, one includes a gun rack with 2 guns, which were not reported. Failing to report information on government documents could be a felony. Ask Hunter Biden. Maybe Hicks borrowed the guns for the picture and maybe he didn’t have to disclose his spouse’s assets since he filed for bankruptcy, not his wife. I wonder if witholding information is a violation of the rules of the court.

BTW. My 5 readers might remember Hicks pulled me into his bankruptcy case that resulted in the Judge assessing a fine of $175 for violating the rules of the court. I’m not bitter. LOL. You can read about it here.

If these are his guns then it is disturbing the guns are easily accessible even with a small refrigerator that could be a step to access them. Proper storage of weapons is a conservative value. It makes me wonder what kind of conservative doesn’t properly store his weapons or is not fiscally responsible, or doesn’t vote.

You can view all of Hicks’ bankruptcy documents at KicksHicks.com.
