Chaos has bounced around the Bay Area. Pearland is next in line.

The chaos in the Bay Area started with League City and Councilman Justin Hicks who eventually resigned in disgrace. Then Seabrook was about to take over the media attention but the citizens voted down the extremists of Save Our Seabrook. Then Joseph Lowry, Councilman of La Marque took over and has a death grip on creating chaos in the city. Tonight Pearland may enter the chaos.

Word has it that tonight at the Council meeting the Members will vote to limit the power and participation of their newly elected Mayor, Quentin Wiltz. Wiltz was elected with 52% of the vote in an area carried by Trump by 59%. Although this is a non-partisan election both candidates were endorsed by their respective parties.

Wiltz is a very well qualified individual for the office. In a non partisan race that should be the first priority for office. You can read his background here. Unfortunately the Republicans on council is considering limiting the Mayors power and participation in committees leaving him to be a sitting Mayor, literally. Why? That is a good question.

The meeting is tonight with citizens expected to address the Council during community input. City Hall Council Chamber, 3519 Liberty Drive, Pearland, Texas 77581. 6:30 PM.
