The Pentagon has rolled out formal guidance for mandatory sperm count testing for male service members 18 and older, a policy that faces questions from medical experts about the need and efficacy of such a program.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced in July that a new program to screen troops for “sperm deficiency” was necessary to allow them to operate at their “absolute best.” The new clinical guidance, released late Thursday, outlines how the program would work. According to Hegseth this program will begin immediately and there will be significant consequences for anyone who refuses to participate. According to Hegseth:
“As war fighters you will get on board and you will participate in this activity. Let me warn anyone who choses to challenge me on this decision no matter how high of rank or level of legal expertise you may think you have, if you challenge me I will beat you off. With BOTH hands!”
