It is interesting to say the least.
As previously posted Scott Bowen is the new PACMAN of the Bay Area ranking in $365,776 from various out of district PACs. That amount made up 98% of his total donations. Only $13,029 was from individuals ranging from $521.51 to $5.21. Half of these individual donations came from outside of the district.
Some interesting donors include the Galveston County DA for $520.51 and Eric Dick for $500. Dick is an insurance attorney in Houston and a Trustee on the Harris County Department of Education. He is probably the last person a candidate would want to associate with. You can read about him here.
Others include Peter Lauzon for $500. Bowen recruited Lauzon for the CCISD Board. He lost. The Chair of the Harris County Party Cynthia Siegel gave $250. Former Representative John Davis who represented the Bay Area for 16 years donated $250. James Bowen (Scott’s father?) gave $250. Senator Paul Bettencourt gave a measly $100. Tommy Cones, League City Councilman gave $70. Chris Russo, Chair of Stronger Borders gave only $72.88. And to top it all off, State Representative Little Baby Briscoe Cain gave a whopping $5.21.
