I think Scott may be gay and is reaching out for help.
The Chronicle has been informed of Mr. Bowen’s recent mailer and campaign tactics. In their semi-endorsement Bowen claimed that social issues were not a priority for him. Well I think that was not true. This literature relies on baseless allegations rather than facts, combining rhetoric targeted at the Transgender community coupled with his party’s attacks on Muslim and Latino residents. The mailer cites extreme far-right publications—such as The Catholic World Report and The Texan—and is funded directly by his campaign.
In partnership with Harris County Commissioner candidate Richard Vega, Mr. Bowen continues to disseminate unfounded and misleading claims. Both candidates are scheduled to meet voters at the Clear Lake Library. Voters are encouraged to question whether these divisive tactics truly represent the diverse interests of all community members. They might ask Bowen if he is reaching out for inclusion. The Republican Party is not the party for gays, Muslims, Mexicans, Jews, Blacks, or anyone who is not a white christian nationalist.
Besides attacking the gay community Bowen attacks our teachers as if they have time to devote to social issues. Bowen’s primary opponent stated in a mailer that Bowen was not married and had no children implying he was gay. It is clear Bowen with this mailer that no one needs to imply anymore.
