If you have focused solely on the disruptions brought about by Councilman Joseph Lowry (his history is here) you probably think La Marque is a hell hole of corruption, run by a Mexican cartel, and swirling in debt. It’s not. Not even close.

Lowry has been bashing the city, the employees, and even some who live in La Marque claiming fraud and corruption for over 2 years and yet there isn’t a single ongoing investigation. He has become the Chicken Little of La Marque. And it is getting old. Prior to his election there were few, if any, negative stories written about La Marque. Ever since there has been numerous articles written by the Galveston Daily News and multiple Houston TV stations, with none on the baseless allegations being spewed by Chicken Little.

Take a look at some interesting facts about La Marque Texas:

  • La Marque was founded in the 1890’s. Originally it was called The Highlands
  • La Marque received the All American City Award in 2025
  • Population is 20,498 as of 2024.
  • White (Non-Hispanic): 35.3%
  • Black or African American (Non-Hispanic): 30.8%
  • Hispanic: 28.7%
  • Asian: 1.5%
  • Native American/Other: 0.7%
  • Multiracial: 2.9%
  • The city has a budget of $23,500,000 for 2026
  • The city is managed by a Council with a Mayor and 4 Council Members
  • City Council meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month
  • The city has 558 businesses operating in the city
  • Majority of the schools in La Marque are within the Texas City ISD with a few in Dickinson

La Marque is the All American City of 2025. Don’t listen to chicken little.

The Texas Fair Plan: Socialized Insurance in a Disappearing Market

I thought Republicans hated socialism.

The Texas Fair Plan is basically socialized home insurance. It is an insurance policy financially backed by the State of Texas and operated by the Texas Fair Plan Association. The TFP is like the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association the first socialized insurance plan in Texas. TWIA was created back in 1971 and was to be the “insurance of last resort”. Currently it is almost the ONLY resort available to the 14 counties on the Texas coast. TFP was created in 1995 and covers the entire State. It is also the “insurance of last resort” but is becoming the ONLY resort in the Bay Area.

If you want to know the details about the TFP read this article The Texas Fair Plan: What It Is and What It Covers published by the Merlin Law Group. You can also visit the TFP website at TexasFairPlan.org. Here are some quick notes:

  • The Texas Fair Plan is a state sponsored insurance policy. (Socialized insurance)
  • Property owners must apply through an agent
  • To qualify for the TFP property owners must have been rejected by two of the free market insurance companies
  • The TFP has very limited coverage
  • No water or sewer backup coverage
  • $5000 limit on water events such as broken pipes in the home
  • Doesn’t cover the 14 counties for windstorm damage. That is usually covered by TWIA
  • The total insurable value of the contents of the house maxes out at 50% of the total value of the house

If you are struggling with the rising cost of your home insurance you might want to reach out to an agent and see if you qualify. Personally I think the Bay Area is going to be like the coastal areas where the mighty free market will be allowed to flee the market leaving us with the Texas Socialize Insurance Association. Maybe this is a good option if it can be improved.

I really thought the Republican Party hated socialism.

Ding Dong Killer Charged with Murder

That’s a no brainer.

Well the gun nut mentality ushered in by the Texas Republican Party has destroyed another couple of families. A 11 year old playing Ding Dong Dashing was shot and killed by a 42 year old homeowner. Two fucking families destroyed by the cowards of Texas who will not stand up and demand action from our elected officials. Instead they keep voting for the people who value guns over kids, who have created a gun nut society, and who have given easy access to guns to those who should not have them including someone who is stupid enough to shoot a kid in the back.

Gdamn. What in the living fuck is wrong with us? Conservatives used to respect the legal ownership of firearms. Now they don’t have a problem with allowing anyone to walking around with a loaded AR15 in public, dressed up like GIJoe with body armor, gun silencers, and 100 magazine clips. Here in Texas anyone, including felons, gang members, and drug dealers can open carry because there is no restrictions on who can carry and the police are not allowed to question anyone who carries.

That is where we are at here in Texas. Because we are a bunch of fucking cowards families will continue to be destroyed. Texans don’t really care.

Unless it happens to their family.

Investigation Looms After Failed Recall of Texas Mayor

This did not turn out as planned.

A recall petition of Texas City Mayor Dedrick D. Johnson has failed to obtain the necessary verified signatures. Unfortunately that may not be the end of the issue. According to a letter from the City the petition effort has been handed over to the Galveston County District Attorney. You can read the letter below.

As I said in a previous post: It seems like there is a pattern with some of these recall efforts, much like a playbook:

  • Make unsubstantiated claims against an elected official with words like “corrupt”, “cabal”, and “illegal”. You don’t need to provide any evidence, just say it. Over and over again. 
  • Find a 2 bit blogger (like me) or a self proclaimed “journalist” to repeat the allegations, over and over again.
  • Post to social media all the articles and videos from these self proclaimed journalists over and over again.
  • Get a local company to soil their name with some of the local voters and promote the recall effort

That’s what happened in Texas City. So now the focus is on those who submitted the petition. If the allegations of confirmed, these are very serious crimes and could land people with felonies and in jail.

It’s Open Season on 10 Year Olds

No Place But Texas. Literally.

You can thank your republican leadership for creating this open season on human beings. How incredibly stupid can you be to pull out a gun after someone rings your door bell, chase the ding-dongers down the street, and then shoot them in the back multiple times. That’s what happened in Houston this weekend. From CNN:

As the boy ran from a house on Racine Street just before 11 p.m., someone chased after him and shot him in the back, according to KHOU.

The boy died. The shooter wasn’t protecting his property from a 10 year old. He wasn’t defending himself from the loud noise of a door bell. He wasn’t even sitting in his lounge chair holding his gun waiting for an excuse to use it. Instead he had to make a decision to arm himself after someone randomly his door bell at 11 PM. Is ding-donging annoying? Of course it is and the kid should be taught a lesson but to chase him down, shoot him multiple times in the back, and kill him? That is fucking criminal. Literally.

So far the shooter has been questioned and released. Who knows? Maybe the kid had an AR 15 while ding-donging. Maybe he was waving his arms in a threatening manner as he was running away. Maybe he had a vicious dog with him. Maybe he was running away with a neighbors TV.

Or maybe he was just a 10 year old pulling a prank. Way to go Texas.

NASA’s Congressman Heckled at Rice Event

To be perfectly honest, there wasn’t much to heckle him about….until….

At the end of Congressman Brian Babin’s softball interview at Rice University Babin had to make the mistake of lying to the small crowd and he was called out for it. It was ugly. Babin was defending the NAZI saluting Elon Musk and DOGE claiming they had found millions of people over the age of 115 collecting Social Security checks. (It’s not true.)

A number of groans came from the audience with someone in the front row (me) yelling “That is not true Congressman!” A number of people chimed in calling him out on his stupid comment. A disabled individual went off on a tangent about going to Mars causing a problem for security. I continued with comments towards Babin such as “Your boss is a liar, you don’t have to be one too.” Others in the small audience were vocal and not happy that he resorted to what Republicans are good at, lying. The moderator then ended the event.

As Babin was leaving the podium I asked if he would come to his district and meet with his constituents. His response was “I’m not going to do that”. Babin has been in office for over 10 years and has never met with his constituents besides with the business community.

Fucking coward.

Another Shooting. Another Opportunity to Tuck Tail by Americans

Let’s face it. Americans are cowards.

Following the tragic shooting in Minneapolis, which resulted in the loss of two innocent lives and left 17 others permanently injured, it is undeniable that Americans have demonstrated a lack of courage in addressing gun violence.

This pattern of inaction is not unique to Minneapolis. It has been a recurring theme, especially in Texas. After the shootings in El Paso, Santa Fe, Uvalde, and Sutherland Springs Church Americans have consistently failed to take decisive action to curb gun violence.

Instead of demanding actions, Americans resort to superficial gestures such as engaging in prayer sessions, purchasing “Texas Strong” t-shirts, and then doing what they do best. They forget. Then in November they vote for the very people who provided easy access to military-style firearms to the mentally ill shooters.

Republicans will not curb gun violence and the only people who can make it happen are the American voters but instead of demanding action they tuck tail and forget like the fucking cowards they have become.

Godamn us all.

La Marque Council Member Embarrassed at Council Meeting (Video)

Note to the Mayor and other Council Members: Do yourself a favor and just ignore CM Joseph Lowry. Don’t feed into his stupidity and pettiness. Let him make his baseless allegations and move on.

Once again La Marque City Council Member Joseph Lowry gets put into his place on Facebook Live, Facebook Live! By now you would think he has had enough of the humiliation. The discussion was accepting the independent audit of the City’s financials. All but Lowry voted to accept it. As the acting City Manager stated the audit is required by State law, is about 178 pages long, and has no evidence of malfeasance, corruption, or anything unusual. Of course that didn’t stop Lowry from talking, once again, about a “forensic” audit.

Lowry has been spouting off about corruption, bribes, recorded phone calls, malfeasance, corruption, cabals, etc etc for years now without any evidence whatsoever. As the Mayor said “You are the only one saying this. Not the Police. Not the Sheriff. Not the District Attorney”. The Mayor, once again, told Lowry is he has evidence of cabal-ness he needs to bring to the Council so they can evaluate and take action including requesting a “forensic” audit. So far Lowry has squat. He is a one man clown show.

The second slap in the face was concerning limiting the rights of citizens to address the Council. Lowry claimed people were coming to complain about him. He had the gall to claim “It wasn’t like this in the past.” The Mayor slapped his fat ass by stating “The reason they are coming is because of you! You are the problem.” (not the exact words) Lowry wanted council to be more professional which was met with eye rolling and laughter.

BREAKING: EMS Called to the White House

Multiple members of the President’s Cabinet were involved.

Multiple units of the Washington DC fire department were called for an incident involving the President and his Cabinet. According to the report: “The Fire Department Station 42 was called late Tuesday night to assist the Cabinet Members. Our first responders, who are trained in the use CPR, were able to revive many of the individuals but some required hospitalization.

According to the first responders the incident began during the President’s Cabinet meeting lasting over 3 hours. “When we arrived we immediately called for extra support. The scene was horrible with many gasping for air and pleading for help.”

“Our brave first responders took decisive action, provided CPR and mouth to mouth resusitation and tried to pry each and every one of them off of Donald Trump’s ass, but they were stuck. I’ve never seen so many people on their knees sucking someone’s ass so hard that they got stuck. We continue to struggle with the situation. The fact that Trump continued to walk around with so many of the Cabinet Members stuck to his ass didn’t help.”

La Marque Gag Order Hearing Scheduled for August 28 for Joseph Lowry

Thursday August 28, 11:30am. Be there. It will be wild.

There is a gag order hearing this Thursday concerning the civil suit against La Marque City Councilman Joseph Lowry by a number of individuals including CM Kimberley Yancy, former CM James Ross, CJ Beard, and Walter Burt. When this suit was filed a request for a Temporary Restraining Order against Lowry to prevent him from posting damaging allegations pertaining to the plaintiffs. This was eventually denied, but tomorrow there is a hearing concerning a proposed gag order. This is an in person hearing so I can only assume Lowry’s fat ass will be there.
