Hiding Campaign Donations: League City Mayor Nick Long

February 3, 2024

At first there is nothing unusual about Nick Long’s latest campaign finance report.

But…there are a couple of issues with his contributions and donations. In the last reporting period ending Dec 31, 2023 Long raised $28,450 of which $300 came from one donor in League City. All the rest came from PACs outside of the city as well as one donation from Kansas. It makes one wonder “Who’s your daddy?”. Who are you representing?

He has spent $13,817 over a 6 month period. Long is not on the ballot. He isn’t running for reelection yet he spent nearly half of his donations on “consulting expense” and “advertising expense” including $2432.10 to Spectrum Marketing Companies under “Advertising Expense”. What Long failed to note was that this expenditure was to support his buddy Courtney Chadwell who is running for City Council. Chadwell reported this expenditure on his report. It was the only donation he received.

One thing is for sure. The Texas Ethics Commission can fine the living hell out of individuals for hiding their contributions to candidates or misrepresenting their expenditures. Case in point, Eric Dick. The TEC had the authority to fine Dick over $400,000 for his mailers he did not report. They eventually fined him $30,000.

You have to wonder what Long is spending his out of city donor’s money on. I would bet he is funding Chadwell’s campaign. At least he isn’t taking money from Defend Texas Liberty.

It’s F***ing Friday: Stop whining

February 2, 2024

Welcome to Fucking Friday. It’s like “What Grinds My Gears” only worse.

Elections are just 10 months away and MSNBC is already giving air to all of the whiny little voters saying they aren’t going to vote because “No one is reaching out to them”, or “He isn’t doing enough on [name your issue], or “No one is kissing my ass”. It is getting old. It is time to grow the fuck up.

The adult comment when considering who to vote for is “I will vote for the individual who I have an opportunity to sway, to move my issue forward. He/She will never be perfect but I have to chose the one that I have a chance with”. And that is not fucking trump.

Just remember when your feelings are hurt, your panties are in a wad, you’re crossing your arms across your chest, and you refuse to vote, you risk electing someone that will not only screw you and your family but everyone else in the United States.

Many of you did exactly that in 2016. How did that work out for you, your family, women, immigrants, the Gay community, teachers, police, Muslims, Jews, non-Christians, victims of gun violence, and others? As a Mexican American you helped put a target on my back because of the hate speech ushered in by Trump. How in the fuck did acting like a fucking child help move your damn issue forward. Because of that vote in 2016 the United States Supreme Court has screwed us all for the next 30-40 years. Decades!

So this time, do us a favor. Grow up. Vote for someone that you have an opportunity to have a reasonable discussion with to move your particular concern forward. Voice your concern, be passionate about your issue, but when it comes time to do the right thing, do it.

Just fucking do it.

Who is Defend Texas Liberty donating to?

February 2, 2024

Something is happening.

Defend Texas Liberty, the guys who got caught having a 7 hour meeting with a known white supremacist, Nick Fuentes, has donated over $1.5 Million to various candidates. The Texas Tribune broke the story back on Oct 8, 2023. Of the $1.5 Million donated, only $25,000 was donated after the story broke. Maybe people are getting the idea that associating with a white supremacist, even in Texas, isn’t the best idea.

As I have written before, DTL attempted to finance a couple of CCISD candidates. One returned the donation the other lost. It’s clear CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen invited these people to participate. He has a very disturbing relationship with them.

Those receiving donations from DTL after being exposed are Brent Money for $10,000. Money is running for the seat vacated by Bryan Slaton. Bryan was removed from the House after providing an underaged staff member with alcohol and porking her “all night long”. Bryan’s campaign was entirely funded by DTL.

State Representative Robert Hall received $5,000 and State Representative Steven Toth received $10,000. These donations speak volumes. Here are those who accepted donations in 2023.

Raising Campaign Cash: Democratic Senate Candidates

February 1, 2024

I’m not well trained on the Federal Election Commission site but I think I have these fundraising numbers correct. Reports were due yesterday. I’ve included only the top three candidates. I included Thierry Tchenko only because he filed a report. The others have not filed and/or are not serious candidates. As I have said in the past, this isn’t a fuckin game.

Congressman Allred is the clear frontrunner with a haul of $4.6 Million for this period alone. Gutierrez, who is favored by the left of the party has only raised $630,859 and has $379,877 COH. It is concerning because this race will require $50-$60 Million. Tchenko must have spent all his money on his website. Everyone else is just not serious about running for office.

Harris County Dept of Education Trustee referred to the Texas AG

February 1, 2024

Dick again.

Over a year ago the Texas Ethics Commission (TEC) referred Trustee Eric Dick to the Texas Attorney General’s Office for collections. According to the letter sent on December 28, 2022, the TEC stated “As of the date of this letter, the respondent has not submitted any part of the $30,000 civil penalty.” They also referred Dick to the Texas State Bar.

In May of 2022 Dick was fined by the TEC $30,000, the second largest fine in the history of the Commission, for his role in sending an endorsement mailer during his run for City Council in 2019. You can read a summary of the final order here. The TEC has also sent a letter to the Collections Department of the AG’s office for another fine of $10,000. According to the letter “As of the date of this letter, the respondent has not submitted any part of the $10,000 civil penalty, and no appeal has been filed in this matter.”

Unlike with the $30,000 fine, Dick signed an agreed resolution and accepted the $10,000 fine. So it is strange that he has not paid the fine. It’s been over a year now and so far that is no activity by the AG’s office, or at least none that is public record.

Dick continues to serve the public on the Harris County Department of Education. He is also running for reelection and is unopposed. His wife is also running for a seat on the Board.

You can’t make this up. Why does the Harris County Republicans want a joint primary?

January 31, 2024

Seriously. I am NOT making this up.

First, what is a joint primary. Here is the Chair of the Harris County Republican Party, Cindy Siegel, explaining it in her OP-ED in the Houston Chronicle:

Essentially, under a split primary, each party runs its own primary, sharing the location but having separate lines with separate machines and election workers — one for Republicans and one for Democrats.  In contrast, under a joint primary, both Republicans and Democrats line up together in the same location and share voting machines.

This isn’t a new concept. About 8 years ago the Harris County Elections Administrator proposed a joint primary. They setup a demonstration room and invited the parties and media to test it out. I did. It was simple. Instead of having two sets of voting machines, two separate areas for Republican and Democratic primary voters, and two groups of volunteers, there are only one of each. A voter signs in, selects which primary they want to vote in, receives a code, then votes.

The fiscally conservative republicans didn’t want to participate even though it would save the County millions. The plan was scrapped. So why have they agreed to participate now? Glad you asked! In the 2023 legislation session the Republican controlled Legislature passed a number of bills that makes the job of Elections Administrator much harder especially in the 3rd largest county in the country. The bills were designed to make the county fail so the state could take over.

So why now? Again lets let the Chair of the Harris County Republican Party, Cindy Siegel, explain it:

This past December, the Republican Party requested Harris County run a split primary. Two weeks ago, however, the Texas Secretary of State’s Office issued an advisory regarding Senate Bill 924, explaining that holding a split primary in a county the size of Harris County is impossible due to the constraints of the new law.

Yep. The Republicans want a split primary because they fucked it up. It was their doing. In the past, because of low turnout, the County would combine precincts so instead of having over 1000 voting locations there would be about 300. The bill now eliminates combining precincts so there is a need for voting machines and associated equipment for over 1000 locations. And guess what? The County doesn’t have that many machines, or volunteers to man those machines.

So now the Republican Party is riding in on a white wing horse to save the day from a problem they created and is expecting to take credit for it. It’s like a kid trashing his room then getting paid to clean it.

You should read the OP-ED. Stupid republicans.

Texas AG admits guilt on bribery suit. New impeachment is requested.

January 30, 2024

Cocked eyed bastard was trying to be sneaky. The judge wouldn’t allow it.

So the ethically challenged, indicted, adulterer, Ken Paxton, was acquitted by some Texas Senators who lost the balls to do what most real conservatives wanted. They all whined about the impeachment from the House lacked evidence (it didn’t) and wasn’t enough to remove him from office (it was). So he got off.

But….the impeachment proceedings was created by the civil suit Paxton had settled with a number of staff members who sued under the Whistleblower Act for wrongful termination. Paxton settled for $3 Million and wanted the tax payers to pay it. The House investigated and based upon the evidence, impeached him. The settlement was not paid and the civil suit continues.

So now Paxton has to give a deposition, under oath, in the civil case. Instead he gives up. He surrenders. Instead he admits guilt. NBC Ft Worth sums it up perfectly: “He wrote [to the Judge] he no longer will contest accusations he illegally fired the whistleblowers after they reported him to the FBI for bribery and corruption.” To get out of being deposed he gives up. He will not contest the fact he took bribes.

Unfortunately for Kenny, the Judge will have nothing to do with this. Paxton is going to have to give a deposition. He will spend 4+ hours taking the fifth when asked “Did you order the firing of the staff members?” which in a civil suit is just as good as saying “You’re goddamn right I did it”. This is so bad some Senators are calling for a new impeachment trial. From NBC Ft Worth:

Springer was one of those who lost his balls in the trial but he isn’t running for reelection so he doesn’t need his balls anymore. At least he has a pair to realize what Paxton is doing.

The Texas GOP. The Group Of Pussies.

Who is funding DA Kim Ogg for Harris County DA

January 29, 2024

District Attorney Kim Ogg is running for re-election.

In January Ogg filed a 131 page report with a fundraising total for the period of $282,274. Her challenger, Sean Teare, raised $278,817 in the same time period.

In his report Ogg raised $147,455 from 19 individuals including an in-kind donation of over $20,000 from Tillman Ferititta for and event. She also received a $30,000 from the Deason family out of Dallas. Unlike Teare, Ogg has not received any donations from out of state PACs. Here are her top donors:

Who is funding Sean Teare for Harris County DA

January 29, 2024

Sean Teare is challenging incumbent DA Kim Ogg.

In January Teare filed a 183 page report with a fundraising total for the period of $278,817. DA Ogg raised $282,274 in the same time period.

In his report Teare raised $104,127 from 14 individuals and one PAC, the Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC. This PAC is solely funded by….wait for it….George Soros. They are based in Washington DC and have donated over $20,000 in an in-kind contribution for “research”. This isn’t his first time meddling in Texas politics. His organization and other far left groups focus on deep blue areas such as Travis County. With his donation challenger Jose Garza was able to outraise the DA 6-1. Harris County is blue but not as deep blue as Travis County.

Back in 2016 Soros backed Kim Ogg for DA by buying a $500,000 ad buy after donating $100,000 to her primary challenger Morris Overstreet who was woefully unqualified for the position. Now he has shifted away from Ogg, probably looking for a more “progressive” DA.

I think he is wasting his money. Sean isn’t that far lefty that Soros likes to fund. Personally I would rather Soros and all the far left organizations stay out of our local politics. Here are Teare’s biggest donors:
