Poll: Should La Marque City Councilman Joseph Lowry Resign?

October 17, 2025

Based upon the recent letter provided by the Texas Attorney General and Lowry’s application to run for office Lowry should consider stepping down from his high horse.

The summary from the AG is interesting and possibly damning. Unlike Lowry I am not an undercover investigative journalist or have a Jewish Prudence degree so I can’t really state what the living hell this letter means to his application, his running, or his seat. Here it is:

Even if this letter does not apply to his election, his application might apply. His application to run can be read here. It also includes his agreement to conduct himself in a honorable manner. LOL. But back to his application to run for office. When he applied he checked the box “I have not been finally convicted of a felony.” That isn’t exactly true. He pled guilty to two felonies concerning the possession of Meth. You can read about both of these cases with public records here and here.

Now as stated in the above posts his convictions were vacated 16 years later after a Washington Supreme Court ruling in Blake v. State. If that is the case, then he should have checked the box “I have been finally convicted of a felony, but I have been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities of that felony conviction and I have provided proof of this fact with the submission of this application”

Falsifying a government document is serious. Ask Hunter Biden. Lucky for Lowry and Galveston County Jimmy Fullen, their names are not Hunter Biden.

So should Lowry resign? Take the poll here: https://take.supersurvey.com/poll5617862x865D4827-165

Galveston County Sheriff Jimmy Fullen to be Cleared. Again.

October 17, 2025

So much for “law and order” in Galveston County.

The First Investigation.
Last year a Texas Ethics Commission investigated Sheriff Fullen for a fake $100,000 loan to his campaign. Prior to the conclusion of that investigation Fullen simply removed the loan from his report as if it never happened, probably because it never did. The Commission finished their investigation and Fullen petitioned the TEC to hide the results from the public. From the TEC:

The second investigation
The second investigation came from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. A complaint had been filed against Fullen for falsifying his application for Sheriff. (you can read about the violations at https://therealtruejimmyfullen.com) This is what TCOLE stated concerning Fullen:

Specifically, Respondent omitted, failed to disclose, or provided false or untruthful information related to job experience, having been disciplined at work, having been fired or asked to resign from a place of employment, having been accused of discrimination, having been the subject of a written complaint at work, having failed to make or been late on a court-ordered payment, having been part of a civil lawsuit, and failing to disclose two arrests.

You can read the entire letter from the TCOLE here. The TCOLE called for his law license to be revoked and was scheduled for a hearing to do so, but Fullen sued. That suit was settled yesterday with the settlement to be disclosed at the December meeting. Interesting to note that Fullen has once again padded his campaign with a number of personal loans and there is no record of his expenditures for his legal defense provided by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee.

Falsifying government documents can be a serious violation, depending on who you are. Lucky for Fullen, he isn’t Hunter Biden.

La Marque Police Chief Resigns. Who’s Next?

October 16, 2025

There could be more resignations coming. Hopefully at least one.

Last Monday’s City Council meeting might have been the start of the end of Police Chief Aragon but yesterday’s phone call was probably what ended the end. At about 3:00 PM the Chief made a call to Hayley Winkleman. Hayley has been an outspoken critic of Aragon and spoke at the Council Meeting. A couple of hours later the City Manager alerted the Council that Aragon had tendered his resignation.

According to Hayley during his phone Aragon threatened her with a lawsuit if she continued speaking about the reason he was removed from office in New Mexico. The City Manager was immediately emailed to make her informed of the threat and a couple of hours later, Aragon resigns.

Aragon’s background and lack of a background check prior to his appointment as Chief has been discussed before. “Back in 2016 Aragon resigned from his police chief job in Fairbanks Alaska after an investigation of conflict-of-interest allegations. In 2019 he was fired from his job at Truth or Consequences New Mexico. And now there are questions about his application for Police Chief in La Marque.” A complaint was filed with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). The results of this investigation is pretty damning and includes the allegations concerning his firing from Truth and Consequences New Mexico. You can read the results of the investigation here. It is concerning.

He explained he was reprimanded for making comments to 3 female staff members and those comments were meant to be humorous and not related to sexual matters. He further expounded and said the entire scenario was “unquestionably politically motivated.” After a lengthy and unnecessary explanation, Aragon was ultimately fired.

According to I45Now Aragon has not ruled out a run for office. Hopefully the voters will perform a background check. Aragon should just retire and move on. Retirement can be fun with less stress. He has had some good accomplishments as Chief and has made the city safer. He should count his time in office as a win.

So, who’s next to resign?

Texas Attorney General’s Opinion Concerning Felons Running for Office

October 15, 2025

This opinion specifically refers to Webb County but is applicable across the State.

The Texas Attorney General’s office was asked for an opinion concerning whether a felon can run for office. You can read the letter from the Webb County Attorney here. From the letter:

Paxton’s office responded with the following. You can read the entire opinion here.

BTW the specific open records request was asking for any copies of any correspondence between the Texas Attorney General’s office and Joseph Edwin Lowry and/or his attorney including any ruling, letters, or documents concerning vacating a felony conviction from the State of Washington. The above was their response. No other documents were found.

Govt Shutdown Forces Thunderbirds to No Show at Air Show

October 14, 2025

UPDATE: It is confirmed all military planes and equipment will be a No Show at the Air Show. No refunds will be given.

Thanks to the republican controlled House, Senate, and White House.

The Wings over Houston Airshow is still on for this weekend October 18-19 but with a small caveat. According to KHOU Houston:

“All military and federal government assets, including ground display aircraft and military performers, will not attend the 2025 Wings Over Houston Airshow,” organizers said. “Assets include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, NASA aircraft, and single-ship military demonstration teams.”

So no Thunderbirds, no static displays, no military presence, nothing government related because the government is shutdown. Tickets for general admission are still over priced at $60 each for those 15 and above. If the government funding is restored by Wednesday the military displays and the Thunderbirds will be available.

So, not only will your health care costs take a hit, you won’t get to see the Thunderbirds this year.

La Marque Police Chief put on Notice Concerning Political Violence. Again.

October 14, 2025

“Ya’ll better do something.”

The La Marque Police Department, Galveston County DA, and the Sheriff were all put on notice at last night’s Council Meeting. A citizen of La Marque, Mr. Re’Chard Loftis, spoke during the public input portion of the meeting and it was NSFW. (Not Suitable For Work) Needless to say he was, in his words, “f***ing pissed off”. Take 3 minutes of your time and watch his comments here. They are disturbing to say the least.

He is pissed about being harassed by a member of City Council and warned LMPD Chief Aragon and County Law Enforcement of potential violence if they do not take action. Of course it was all about Lowry. Again. Lowry conveniently skipped the meeting and for good reason. What Mr. Loftis documented was fucking horrible.

Mr Loftis told Council that last Friday Lowry and his wife, Sarah, harassed his family while at dinner. It began with Sarah confronting his wife in the bathroom then they both continued the harassment at their table and then outside where Lowry, as usual, pulled out his iPhone 11 and began taping before driving off in his minivan. Mr. Loftis states that Lowry then posted a Facebook Live video attacking his family including his 4 year old grandson. It begs the question “Who the fuck does that?” and “How old are you? 12?”. Again, watch the video.

Mr. Loftis made it clear to Galveston County law enforcement that something had to be done about Lowry and his harassment of individuals. This is the second time they have been warned, first by Council Member Yancy during a press conference where, as expected, Lowry caused a disruption. Lowry has had numerous complaints filed against him with the police for harassment and yet no action has been taken. He has a number of lawsuits pending against him for harassment. His Facebook “Lowry News Network” page has been removed a number of times for harassment. He has a history of harassment in Washington resulting in a Domestic Violence Protection Order. The list of his harassment is documented here.

Mr. Loftis wasn’t the only person providing comments about the Chief. Others accused his office of racial profiling, mismanagement of funds, and not taking appropriate action. Some called for his resignation or Council firing him. The Chief’s job is under scrutiny as is the DA’s and the Sheriff. As Mr Loftis said “LMPD, Galveston County, ya’ll better do something!”.

You can watch the entire comments from the meeting here.

La Marque Bribery “Evidence” Cannot be Found

October 13, 2025

It’s Lowry again.

At a special La Marque city council meeting held to address the financial issues of the city, City Councilman Joseph Lowry warned the Mayor about his evidence of bribes with developers. He mentioned his evidence with copies of a check and recordings. He called the Mayor a liar, and was threatened with removal for disrupting the meeting but he continued his baseless allegations claiming to have evidence. Click the video above to see the exchange.

So an open records request for this evidence was requested and the City has responded. It doesn’t exist.

Whomp. Whomp

What Happens When NASA Employees are Furloughed

October 13, 2025

Some might think it’s all fun and games. It’s not.

NASA employees are in their second week of being furloughed. What happens when NASA employees are furloughed? Not much, literally. Basically employees are forbidden by law to work during a furlough. That means they cannot go to the office. They can’t work from home. They can’t conduct or participate in telecoms.

Do they get paid for not going to work? Depends. If the furlough continues past the pay period employees will not receive their paychecks because, well the government is closed, including the office that issues checks. The question this time is whether they will receive back pay for the time they were furloughed. In the past, or at least the last 4 furloughs, back pay was authorized.

This time might be different. The million of federal employees furloughed might have to suck it up and take a very costly hit all while members of Congress will get full payment. The argument will be easy. “If you didn’t work, you shouldn’t get paid.”, or “If I didn’t work I wouldn’t get paid.”. Even though federal employees were forbidden by law to work they might not get paid leaving them with unpaid mortgages, etc.

Some employees at NASA will be designated as essential such as those who manage the Space Station at Mission Control. Contractors are not affected by the furlough. While the furlough continues some employees may find out they are fired.

But that won’t happen until they get back because, well the government is closed, including HR.

Democrat Albert Wittliff Enters Race for Bay Area’s Texas House

October 13, 2025

Campaign Kickoff is Thursday at Boondoggles 6:00 PM. RSVP Here.

The race for House District 129 might be interesting next year. The current Representative, Dennis Paul, has held this office for 10 years with little to show for his time except to promote Abbott’s voucher bill and gun sanctuary bill. He is now running on his unimpressive record for State Senator.

On the Republican side you have a conservative, Bob Mitchell, running against the former CCISD Trustee, MAGAt Scott Bowen. Bowen’s time on the CCISD School Board was marred with controversy and constant chaos. He was lucky to be reelected with 48% against two other candidates. He lost his bid for a 3rd term by 8% against a real conservative. Bob Mitchell is the former President of the Bay Area Economic Partnership. Unlike Bowen he has the skills to work with others and do what politicians do, politic. Bowen has proven with his two terms on CCISD that he lacks the skills to be a politician.

Albert Wittliff ran for CCISD a couple of years ago. After losing his race, instead of dropping out of the scene waiting for the next election, he volunteered to work with CCISD on security issues, his forte. You can read a bit about him below. The general election could be between a moderate and a conservative if Mitchell wins the primary or between a moderate and an extremist MAGAt if Bowen wins.

Come and meet Albert next Thursday. He is impressive.
