TX Republican candidate left with egg on her face

January 3, 2024

There is no bottom.

Mayra Flores is a Mexican MAGAt. She won a special election in south Texas and served for about 6 months. On New Years Eve she made a series of mistakes leaving her with egg on her face.

On NYE Mayra tweeted a picture celebrating life on the ranch. It went down hill from there. Here it is:

From Lone Star Left:

In fact, this yummy meal wasn’t from Flores’s family ranch; it wasn’t even from America. As Twitter user Ben Anderson discovered, the picture Mayra Flores used on New Year’s Eve, claiming it was a family meal on her family ranch, was a STOLEN picture from the Guyanese Facebook Page,

Once she was caught, she deleted her Twitter account, then created a new one, then began banning users from her account once they found her and made fun of her. Besides that, Mexican Americans don’t eat stew on NYE. We eat Carne Guisada. It’s a Mexican version of stew. It’s delicious, nutritious, filling. It’s bad enough that a small percentage of Mexican Americans are MAGAts but this culinary fuck up is bad.

Mayra is a Mexican MAGAt. She like Trump is a fuckin liar, a cheat, a disgrace to all Mexican Americans and to the human race. She lies to her God, her Country, and with her Family.

What a fucking disgrace.

The fake Political Action Committee that meddled in Houston Elections

January 2, 2024

Elizabeth Sanders of the Houston Chronicle wrote a very interesting article concerning a mystery PAC meddling in Houston City elections. It is well worth a read.

In short, a PAC identified as the Houston Hispanic Action Committee sent mailers out to District G voters advocating for an unknown, first time, candidate for City Council who raised only $125. The candidate received 11% of the vote and sent the race into a runoff. City Council Member Mary Nan Huffman failed to receive the 50% margin by only a few hundred votes. The PAC also advocated against Huffman incorrectly saying she endorsed Trump for reelection.

So. Who is the Houston Hispanic Action Committee (HHPAC)? No one knows but someone spent a good amount of money to help Buzbee get to a runoff. HHPAC is not registered with the Texas Ethics Commission. They did not appoint a treasurer. These are very serious violations and could result in large fines especially if it was done deliberately to influence an election. Sending out mailers was deliberate. An ethics complaint should be filed.

Unfortunately there is no contact information available for HHPAC. They had a website up until today. The domain name https://houstonhispanicaction.com was created in Sept of 2023 just in time for the election. The administrator of the domain is hidden. They had a Facebook page until today. That page is no longer active. In order to file a complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission you need contact information for the Houston Hispanic Action Committee and there is none.

According to the article the PAC used a specific printer, Long Plan Printing or LP Printing. They have declined to provide who paid for the printing but there is a way to find out. According to the Texas Ethics Commission LP Printing has received over $163,000 over the last ten years mainly from Republican candidates and organizations. Spring Republicans spent over $93,000 for services during this time period.

Sending these mailers under a fake PAC name is a serious violation of the laws governing campaigns and it should be investigated by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office or the Harris County Attorney’s office. They have the authority to issue subpoenas and find out who designed the mailers and who paid for the mailers to be sent. If this is allowed to go unpunished it could affect elections on all levels in the future.

The year in review. 2023

January 1, 2024

What a year. The only way for 2024 to be a good year is if the real conservatives of the Republican Party takes back their party. Here is what happened in 2023:

  • OMG. CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen was found to have a relationship with known white supremacists.
  • Trustee Scott Bowen was cleared on a grievance filed because he testified agains public education at a hearing in Austin.
  • Scott Bowen’s buddy, Pete Lauzon, funded by Defend Texas Liberty, loses his election for CCISD Trustee.
  • Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was allowed to continue his reign of corruption in Texas.
  • Local State Representatives vote against impeaching Ken Paxton even after overwhelming evidence. (Paul, Wilson, Middleton)
  • Republican Bryan Slater was removed from office after giving his underaged staffer alcohol and having sex with her all night long.
  • Republican Congressman George Santos was removed from office.
  • Tony Buzbee lost. Again.
  • Harris County Board of Education filled a vacant slot with Dick. (Eric Dick)
  • Harris County Board of Education Trustee Dick was fined another $10,000 by the Texas Ethics Commission
  • A former Chair of the Harris County Republican Party and a Republican Judge and pastor settled a sex abuse lawsuit concerning young men.
  • League City continues The Purge after firing their attorney, the librarian, and continuing their selective book ban,
  • OMG The Chair of the PAC funded by a couple of billionaires, Defend Texas Liberty, was caught meeting with a known white supremacist. This is the PAC that tried to tip the CCISD elections.
  • Mattress MAGAt Mac is behind the multiple lawsuits against Democratic Judges that won in 2022.
  • The lawsuits against multiple Democratic Judges have been dropped, including the one against Judge Hidalgo.
  • Texas Republicans continue to send useless thoughts and prayers after mass shootings.
  • Local State Representative Dennis Paul continues to ignore gun violence even after one of his own is killed due to senseless gun violence,
  • City Councilman Michael Kubosh was caught using his donor’s money for personal use. He was running for City Controller. (was)

What a year. Here’s hoping that the true conservatives of America will keep that rotten son of a bitch out of the White House and start to rebuild their party.

Texas AG’s office collecting unpaid Ethics fines (or are they?)

December 31, 2023

Don’t hold your breath.

The Texas Ethics Commission has referred a number of ethic violation fines for collection including my buddy Eric Dick who was fined $30,000 for his mailer in the 2019 City Council races. They also referred Eric’s partner, Philip Bryant, who was fined $6000 for his role in the mailer scheme. You can view the entire list from 1/1/2016 to 1/23/2023 here.

From the period listed 623 fines amounting to $2,201,228, were referred to the Texas Attorney General’s Office for collection. 81 have been “Paid in Full” for a small total of $258,251 just over 10%. 422 fines amounting to $1,214,950 are in a “Claims filed” status dating back to 2016.

The fines includes $36,900 for a delinquent filer, Christopher Graham, a candidate for State Representative and the $30,000 fine against Eric Dick. There are some very significant fines that are being collected. (See the list below of fines over $20,000) It is disturbing that 422 fines are in “Claims Filed” status and have lingered. It is almost as if the Texas AG’s Office is not pursuing these fines.

In a State of lawlessness, it shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Unpaid fines issued by the Texas Ethics Commission over the last 10 years

December 29, 2023

Dang. It is hard to get away from this guy.

Through an open records request the Texas Ethics Commission provided an excellent list of unpaid TEC fines over the past 10 years. The complete list can be viewed here. Leading the field of those who have refused to pay is Harris County Department of Education Trustee Eric Dick.

Dick was fined $30,000 and $10,000 for two different violations. The $30,000 fine leads the field of 47 that are unpaid. (Note Sharon Faye Keller is the Presiding Judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. She was fined a whopping $100,000 but settled with the TEC for $25,000 and paid it. More later) Dick’s $30,000 came from a Final Order issued by the TEC. The $10,000 came from an agreement by the TEC and Dick. I expect the $10,000 to be paid. The $30,000 fine has been referred to the Texas Attorney General for collection.

The TEC provided a great 13 page list of those who have been fined over the last 10 years. Their summary of the data is as follows:

It’s an impressive list with an 88% rate of collections. Of the 367 sanctions by the TEC 43 were referred to the Texas Attorney General for collections. More on that later. Only 4 of the 43 have been collected.

There needs to be a deeper look into the 43 fines referred to the Texas AG.

Will the City of Houston or Harris County investigate voter fraud or not?

December 21, 2023

I just don’t get it.

After the 2022 election the Harris County Republican Party bitched and moaned about voter fraud. They filed multiple lawsuits, all but one, was dismissed and the election results stood. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg was also quick to call for an investigation. So far her investigation continues.

Yet here we have a situation with a candidate for Houston City Council, Willie Ray Davis, who won in the runoff, with very questionable residency issues and no one is looking at this. Not the City. Not Harris County Attorney’s office. Not Harris County District Attorney’s office. Not the Ballot Integrity Committee of the Harris County Republican Party. And not the media.

What the fuck over? As noted before Willie Davis claims on his application to run for office that he lives in the City of Houston but according to Brazoria County he bought a new home in 2021 AND took a homestead exemption and a disabled veterans exemption. (Thank you for your service) In order to take that exemption he must live in the home for 12 months and in order to run for office he must live in the city of Houston for 12 months.

Besides that issue, Davis voter registration card lists his residency as the City of Houston while he has a homestead exemption in Brazoria County. Isn’t this voter fraud?

I’ve asked the City to investigate. They referred me to the Harris County Attorney. The City Attorney, the County Attorney and County DA should be investigating this issue. I don’t know how much clearer this needs to be. According to official documents Willie Davis does not live in Houston and should have been disqualified from running.

The City and County needs to either get off their asses and do something or make it real clear that you can run for office in the City of Houston without actually living in the City of Houston.

Small group of Democrats vote to admonish DA Kim Ogg

December 13, 2023

You have to love the Houston Chronicle. Or laugh.

According to the Houston Chronicle “Harris County Democrats vote overwhelmingly to admonish DA Kim Ogg”. That’s not exactly correct. Last night at a poorly attending Executive Committee meeting 129 out of over 500 precinct chairs approved a resolution to admonish District Attorney Kim Ogg. I wouldn’t call that “overwhelmingly”. 61 voted against the resolution. Hundreds voted to stay home and do something more important.

In the end the far lefties got what they wanted after months of debating. And in the end it won’t amount to a hill of beans. Ogg probably won’t win the Democratic primary. She has pissed off too many people but passing a resolution is just going to get you a picture in the paper with a bad haircut. That’s it. Instead of putting the time and effort into important matters such as raising money or helping elect Democrats to office they passed a worthless resolution. And oh by the way 2 of our great candidates for City Council lost.

Besides the embellished title of the article the Chronicle also embellished the challengers fundraising. According to the article:

While the resolution does not limit her legal powers, it does put Ogg at odds with her own party as she heads into next year’s March primary. She is facing a challenge from Sean Teare, a former prosecutor who raised almost $750,000 in the first six months of the year – more than 10 times what Ogg raised during the same period.

$750,000…..well sort of. As I noted before, Sean raised $748,000 but that includes two major donations, one from Laura Turek for $100,000 and $500,000 from Scott Freeman. Without these donations he raised $148,317 still 3 times more than Ogg. Sean is a good candidate for the office. He served as a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for 11 years, including 6 years as the Division Supervisor of the Office’s Vehicular Crimes Division. I like the guy. We should thank Ogg for her 8 years of service and move on.

Now that this issue is over maybe those who put this side show on would now go do their damn jobs. Here is an idea, go work on Sean’s campaign and quit the drama.

Voter fraud in Houston elections by winning candidate?

December 13, 2023

The voter integrity committee of the Harris County Republican Party is probably jumping on this like Donald Trump on a porn star.

Ok, hear me out. Prior to the election the Houston Chronicle questioned the residency of 7 candidates running in the Houston city elections, including Willie Ray Davis candidate for At-Large 2. Davis won in the runoff. According to the article the City only performs an initial check to verify the candidate put a city of Houston address on the application, they are registered to vote, and have not been convicted of a felony. Maybe someone needs to check a bit deeper.

Davis lists his address on his voter registration as 4734 Arbilla Ln Houston Texas 77021. That property is a single family residence owned by Lott Paul Wesley Sr. But here is where it gets interesting and disturbing. According to the Brazoria County Appraisal District Willie Ray Davis owns a $591,000 home at 3531 BENITO DR IOWA COLONY, TX. He claims a homestead exemption as well as a Disabled Veteran exemption. (Thank you for your service)

So here is the potential issue that the voter integrity committee is chowing down on. If this is the same Willie Ray Davis then he may have voted illegally. According to Texas law a candidate must live in the district for at least 12 months prior to the election and I believe if you take a homestead exemption on your home in Iowa Colony then that address is where you live. (it makes sense) So Willie Ray Davis lived out of the city of Houston.

And….if he registered to vote in Harris County using someone else’s address isn’t that a violation of voter integrity? And….if he voted in the City elections isn’t that voter fraud? And….if he didn’t vote in the City elections isn’t that a confirmation that he knew he would be committing voter fraud? If he claims residency in the City of Houston for the election then he can’t take a homestead exemption. That would be against the law and a lie. Willie Ray Davis is a pastor and I am sure he believes in Thou Shall Not Lie commandment.

There are a lot of IFs here and maybe this is a different Willie Ray Davis. So maybe someone should look a bit deeper on this. I will forward this to the voter integrity committee of the Harris County Republican Party and wait patiently for a response.

A Pale Horse of a different color

December 8, 2023

This doesn’t change anything.

Pale Horse Strategies is a consulting firm associated with Defend Texas Liberty PAC and owned by former State Representative Johnathon Strickland. Strickland was also the lead of Defend Texas Liberty. Was….

The Texas Tribune exposed DTL, specifically Strickland, for meeting with a known white supremacist, Nick Fuentes at Pale Horse Strategies. DTL has since removed Strickland, the Speaker of the House had called on all republicans to denounce DTL and return any donations they received.

Well today The Texas Tribune says that Pale Horse Strategies is changing their name to West Fort Worth Management LLC. From the Tribune:

In a Nov. 13 filing with the Texas Secretary of State, an attorney for Pale Horse Strategies LLC wrote that the firm would also conduct future business under the name “West Fort Worth Management LLC.”

The firm is owned by former state Rep. Jonathan Stickland, and is heavily involved in right-wing politics in Texas.

PaleHorseStrategies.com has gone dark. According to the Texas Ethics Commission no political organization has spent money with West Fort Worth Management. You just can’t change who you are by changing what people call you.

Mexican MAGAt to challenge State Representative “Little Baby” Briscoe Cain

December 8, 2023

It’s like laughing and throwing up at the same time.

“Little Baby” Briscoe Cain, pictured here at the annual Take your Child to Work Day, has a challenger in the Republican Party. Bianca Gracia, founder of Latinos for Trump, claims Briscoe is a pro-Democrat which is laughable. Cain is so far right he is wrong. Maybe the PAC Defend Texas Liberty known for meeting with a white supremacist is funding her campaign. Cain was one of the many Republican House members to vote to impeach Ken Paxton. Even right wing wackos have their limits. The PAC has vowed to primary these members.

Gracia is best known for meeting with Enrique Tarrio, leader of the Proud Boys, and founder of the Oath Keepers Elmer Stewart Rhodes in a garage a day prior to the Jan 6 insurrection. Tarrio and Rhodes were convicted of seditious conspiracy against the United States and are serving 20 year prison sentences. In 2020 Gracia ran for the Texas Senate and won 7% of the vote in the primary. If fundraising is an indication of future success she should quit while she is behind.
