Nothing is free and it’s time to pay for it.

Let’s get real. People throwing a total fit over a $9-a-month tax increase haven’t said a peep while their health, auto, and home insurance shot up by thousands of dollars a year. Gas prices doubled. Diesel hit over six bucks a gallon, driving up the price of literally everything you buy. Yet here you are, whining like babies over nine bucks a month so Harris County can actually afford the exact same gas, insurance, and supplies to keep basic services running.

Nine dollars a month. That’s skipping a cheap six-pack, missing one senior movie discount, or dropping one taco from a combination plate you supposedly can’t afford anyway because of all your other skyrocketing bills. If your house is worth $400k, it’s nine extra bucks. Most of you don’t even own a $400k home.

Look, nobody likes paying taxes. I don’t like it either. But goddamn, people—grow a fucking pair. Instead of crying over pocket change, how about directing your outrage at the people who actually caused this mess? If you haven’t had your head buried up your ass for the last 12 years Greg Abbott has been in office, you’d know he deliberately starved our local cities and counties, neutering their ability to manage their budgets and forcing these rate hikes—only to turn around and blame them for doing what they had to do. He does the exact same sabotage to our public schools.

It’s easy to throw a cheap tantrum over $9 a month. Nobody wants a tax hike, but nothing in this world is free, and everything costs way more than it did two years ago. You want to know why? Thank your buddy for the tariffs, the useless war in Iran, the rampant inflation, and total economic mismanagement.

Grow up, suck it up, and grab a goddamn mop to clean up this mess in November.
