Raising Campaign Cash: Citizens for CCISD

December 28, 2021

If you are wondering who maybe sponsoring the disruptions at the CCISD board meetings look at who is donating to the Citizens for CCISD PAC.

According to the Texas Ethics Commission Citizens for CCISD was created  back in 2017 and raised $4800 mostly coming from one donor State Representative “Money” Mayes Middleton. Money Mayes is one of the few candidates who is wealthy enough to completely finance his entire campaign for State Representative spending millions of his own money to win. From a previous post:

According to his latest report Middleton has raised over $1.7 Million (not 1.5) with $1.5 coming from his own pocket, 87% of his entire fundraising efforts. He has $45,099 COH. $1.7Million to win a primary.

$1800 was contributed to the PAC by a few individuals such as Philip Ratisseau, $660, Michael Lee, $400 and others.

Citizens for CCISD donated to Christine Parizo $400 and Kevin Oditt $400. The other expenditures were for various expenses.

Fact Check: Is it now illegal to chain a dog in Texas? No.

December 20, 2021

When it comes to the humane treatment of dogs, Greg Abbott is still a dick.

Texas Senate Bill 5 was passed during one of many special sessions called by Governor Abbott concerning “relating to the unlawful restraint of a dog; creating a criminal offense.” This bill makes it illegal to use a chain to restrain a dog but it does NOT make it illegal to restrain a dog with a rope or tether.

According to the bill a dog cannot be tethered without access to food, water, and shelter and the tether cannot be less than 5 times the length of the dog or 10 feet. This is just an incredibly stupid bill. A responsible dog owner would not have a dog unless they have a fence and it is able to run freely. Restraining a dog for it’s entire life with a chain or rope or tether is cruel. It’s just plain hillbilly mean yet the bill does not stop this from happening. Take a moment and read the gdamn bill. #NoPlaceButTexas
Sec. 821.102.  UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT OF DOG; OFFENSE. (a) An
owner may not leave a dog outside and unattended by use of a
restraint unless the owner provides the dog access to:
               (1)  adequate shelter;
               (2)  an area that allows the dog to avoid standing water
  and exposure to excessive animal waste;
               (3)  shade from direct sunlight; and
               (4)  potable water.
         (b)  An owner may not restrain a dog outside and unattended
by use of a restraint that:
               (1)  is a chain;
               (2)  has weights attached;
               (3)  is shorter in length than the greater of:
                     (A)  five times the length of the dog, as measured
from the tip of the dog’s nose to the base of the dog’s tail; or
                     (B)  10 feet; or
               (4)  is attached to a collar or harness not properly
  fitted.

Qanon republicans fizzle at CCISD board meeting

December 14, 2021

It’s just so f*cking embarrassing.

The Qanon republicans that have abused the CCISD School Board over the last few months met strong resistance from the community and pretty much just fizzled out. The entire meeting can be viewed below with public comments starting at 1:37:00.

The usual speakers included Christine Parizo whining, once again, about voter fraud with unsubstantiated claims of votes being changed. Parizo lost her race for CCISD School Board by 25 points. Not 2. Not 5. 25. She paid for a recount and lost by 25 points, again. The total vote count was 841 vs 1406 for her opponent. Her website claims she has filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General but the AG had this to say:

Other speakers continued their attack on “CRT” which many could not even spell and once again the Board had to remind them that CRT was not taught in CCISD, was never taught, and will never be taught mainly because CRT is a graduate class and not suitable for undergraduate classes, high school, middle school, elementary school, or kindergarten. The “Fire the Superintendent” crowd seemed to have lost it’s steam and was subdued in their Qanon-ness.

Many speakers thanked the Board for what they are doing and praised the Superintendent for a job well done. (not perfect, but well done). Overall the Qanon’s were not as embarrassing as they have been in the past. Still embarrassing, but not as bad.

Qanon republicans call for the resignation of the CCISD Superintendent

December 11, 2021

The next board meeting and community input ought to be another shit show. It will be truly embarrassing. According to the Houston Chronicle:

A group of Clear Creek ISD parents are calling for the district’s superintendent to resign less than a year into his tenure, saying he has put into place lessons that indoctrinate students with “anti-white” sentiment, an accusation that appears to have followed him from his last job in Virginia.

Eric Williams came to Clear Creek in February from Loudon County Public Schools in northern Virginia, which has become a national flashpoint of right-wing activism over “critical race theory.”

This “group” are the Qanon republicans in the district. The kids in school have more common sense, dignity, and respect for other people than they do. Truly god awful people. Our school board should be making decisions about our students based upon science, education, and accounting principles. Something the Qanon people have no interest in. They thrive on chaos. They enjoy disrupting. Its what they live for.

They probably can’t even spell CRT. The district has stated, over and over and over again the following:

“CRT is not in our curriculum and it’s not in our instructional resources. In fact, our board adopted a policy prohibiting district resources from doing any sort of scapegoating or stereotyping based on race.”

CRT is a graduate course. It is not taught in undergraduate school, or in high school, or in middle school, or elementary school, or kindergarten. Most Qanon republicans don’t know what CRT is and those that do don’t really care. It is all about chaos. Wide eyed, pitch fork carrying, meth head, Qanons.

This is the Republican Party.

CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen addresses his dickishness

December 8, 2021

From Amazon

Last month CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen was called out for being a dick.

Bowen showed his dickness when a parent was distributing a document to each of the Trustees. She wore a mask because I believe she was being careful about COVID. As she passed by Bowen he played coughed on her then turned to Trustee Cottrell who joined him for a good laugh. It was all quite funny poking fun at a parent concerned about bringing a deadly virus back to her kids at home. Bowen just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a dick about everything. He did a great job.

At the November meeting Bowen apologized for his dick move. You can see him at 1:58:07 from the video of the Trustee meeting on November 15. Maybe next time Bowen might want to act like an adult so he can stay out of the bag of dicks.

After Michigan shooting TX Gov Greg Abbott calls for arming high school Seniors

#NoPlaceButTexas

After the shooting at a Michigan high school leaving 4 students dead and 6 wounded Texas Governor Greg Abbott is now calling for arming high school seniors in order to make our school safer. According to Abbott “Students in Texas should feel safe knowing that the star football player or the President of the Student Association is carrying a loaded firearm and is ready to protect them from an active shooter.”

Over the last few legislation sessions Abbott has signed a number of gun friendly laws. In 2009 Abbott supported an open carry policy allowing trained and licensed gun owners the right to carry loaded weapons in public. Last session he went even further allowing permit less carry giving any gun owner the right to open carry without training or securing a license. “The next logical step is to allow guns to be carried into schools by responsible students.”

Texas has had our share of gun shootings in schools and we have taken decisive action to address this. After the Santa Fe high school shooting leaving 10 kids dead we took swift action and passed an open carry bill and a bill allowing the arming of high school teachers. We went further in allowing anyone to carry a gun and passed Permitless Carry which included gang members, drug dealers, MS13, Crips, and people who dress up like GI Joe.

Ever since passing lax gun laws our rate of deadly shootings has skyrocketed proving our new gun laws are clearly working. “Allowing students to carry guns into the class room should give every Texan a sense of security never seen before.”

Aggie joke joins race for Texas Attorney General

November 23, 2021

This is so embarrassing. From the NBC News:

Gohmert, who has been in Congress since 2005, said in a video announcement that he has already raised $1 million in his bid to unseat fellow Republican Ken Paxton. If he is elected, Gohmert said, he will prioritize “election integrity,” push back against “unconstitutional mandates” and clamp down on border crossings.

I mentioned Gohmert before:

Gohmert is a bad Aggie Joke. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1975, was in the Corps of Cadets, and a Brigade Commander. He was able to win his seat in congress after Tom Delay and the Republican Party re-redistricted the state providing a safe, solid republican district, one he would never have to seriously defend. His constituents in return got Louie, the Aggie Joke. He has accomplished about as much Bernie Sanders, passing only 1 bill in 16 years,

He along with Congressman Gym Jordon is the Beavis and Butthead of Congress. He is a clown and acts like one during hearings. He is like Trump using racists language like “Terror babies”. He makes unsubstantiated claims about immigrants and other subjects. He routinely refuses interviews except to be on Fox News. He is the boot licker of the House for Donald Trump.

Gohmert is a racist joke. He represents his district well.

Gohmert has also become one of the most unhinged members of Congress joining ranks with Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordon, Marjorie Taylor Greene and others.

God help the state of Texas if this joke of a human being is elected as the AG.

Why do you have to be a dick about everything: Texas Governor Greg Abbott

November 22, 2021

Leave it to Greg Abbott to celebrate the death of 2 protestors in another state.

After the verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse case Greg Abbott jumped for joy, opened his damn pie hole, and just couldn’t resist being a dick about everything by sending a congratulatory tweet. The lives of two families have been changed forever. They lost a loved one because a 17 year old with a loaded assault weapon crossed state lines to join in a protest and shoot two people to death.
The least Abbott could do was to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up. Abbott joins the others in the bag of dicks like Scott Bowen, Louie Gohmert, Ted Cruz, Steve Stockman and more.

Why do you have to be a dick about everything? CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen

November 10, 2021

CCISD Trustee, Scott Bowen, is a Qanon republican. He won a seat on the CCISD school board and has served his party well by disrupting, disrespecting, and being a dick about everything. His latest childish dickishness was on full display, and on camera, at the last public comment session of the committee monthly meeting. Video below.

The public comment period of the CCISD meetings has become a Qanon free for all with conspiracy theorists, unqualified individuals giving medical advice, and former candidates like Christine Parizo who lost by 25 points whining about losing by 25 points. Those in the audience clap and cheer even though clapping and cheering is against the rules committee, and against common sense decency of civilization. It’s what we call in Texas a shitshow.

I wonder if Bowen coughed on Scott Apley’s wife and infant child during his funeral. Apley was another Qanon, COVID denier, Dickinson City Councilman, and member of the Republican Party Executive Committee. He died of COVID.

Bowen jumps into the Bag of Dicks with Mark Henry, Randy Weber, Steve Stockman, the Galveston Young Republicans, Ted Cruz, Louie Gohmert, and many many more.

State Representative Dennis Paul. Whining and lying about his cancelled fundraiser

November 4, 2021

Dennis Paul, a republican from Clear Lake, had to change his annual fundraiser from a Harris County park to Galveston County and we all got to listen to him whine and lie.

According to Dennis Paul, he incorrectly blames Harris County for his staff’s mistakes and lies leading up to his event being cancelled by his own staff.

“Despite having a contract in place for months with Commissioner Adrian Garcia’s office in Precinct 2, we were notified late last week that we would not be able to have any sort of fundraising activities at Clear Lake Park. I would like to think that this was a simple miscommunication, but it seems par for the course for Democrats in Harris County.”

Dennis Paul thinks he is special and entitled to have a fundraiser on County property. (I can’t and you can’t.) When you rent the pavilion you are specifically asked if you are a non profit or charity and whether money will be exchanged, items will be sold, or money raised. Only non profits can exchange money like the Rotary Shrimporee has done in the past for many many years.

Paul’s staff forget, or possibly just lied to Harris County about their event was not for profit. Republicans have mastered the art of lying like a dog. Imagine if our facilities could be used for profit making events. The Landolt Pavilion is a great location and facility and is very reasonable. If for profit organizations were allowed to rent the venue we common folk wouldn’t have an opportunity to rent it ourselves for family reunions, charity events, or company picnics.
But Paul thinks he is special and above the rules because under republican rule the rules were allowed to be broken for many years as they did for his predecessor, John Davis, until he pour grease down the drain and clogged up the water system.
Paul has since moved his event to another location which is much easier to protest at.
