New Series: What the f*ck is wrong with you? State Representative Dennis Paul

April 3, 2023

It’s time we start asking the obvious question. I started with my State Representative Dennis Paul.

Paul lives down the street from me. Occasionally we see each other walking the green belt. In the past we exchange greetings, nothing more but after the Uvalde massacre something in me broke and I walked up to him and asked the obvious question “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

We are at a point in time when no other question needs to be asked. When all you can do is stand around at the polls wearing a stupid looking nra hat after 19 children were slaughtered by an 18 year old who you gave easy access to a military firearm then you need to be asked the question. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” How sick can you be to just sit there and do nothing while Texans are slaughtered in school, church, night clubs, parades, concerts, and more with guns that you made easily access to? Are you mentally fucked up?

But Dennis Paul isn’t the only one we need to ask this question to. There are many more individuals who spout off stupidity, wild eyed conspiracy theories, and just plain nonsense. These individuals need to asked “What the fuck is wrong with you?”.

So, I am starting this new series thanking Dennis Paul for giving me the idea. We can’t be nice about his anymore. People are getting killed, bullied for being who they are. Our democracy is being challenged and no one has the guts to confront them.

So check back often to read my new series and if you see Dennis Paul, how about asking him the question?

Gun violence. It truly is a mental health issue.

March 27, 2023

Obviously we haven’t had enough pain and suffering. At least we haven’t.

Another school shooting this time in Nashville Tennessee has claimed the lives of three nine year olds and three adults. The Nashville police chief made it a point to say that law enforcement was quick to act unlike the cowards at the Uvalde massacre.

But let’s get to the point. This gun violence is a mental health issue. It has nothing to do with guns, or gun ownership, or easy access to killing weapons. It has everything to do with people who are sick in the head. People who walk the streets with a smile on their face after children are gunned down. There is no other explanation for this. It is a mental health issue because if you are an elected official, in a position of power to stop this senseless killing of children, and you do absolutely nothing then you are one mentally sick fuck.

Case in point, State Representative Dennis Paul of Houston Texas in the Bay Area. Dennis prides himself by wearing his NRA hat to the polls. He voted for open carry and permit less carry allowing anyone to carry a gun in the open, including assault weapons and body armor, and silencers. He supports 18 year olds, like the kid who killed 19 children in Uvalde, to buy assault weapons and armor piercing bullets. He supports buying silencers like the kind the Mafia uses.

Dennis Paul isn’t the only godless, sick, fuck in Texas. Everyone who voted for him and the other sick officials are also just as mentally ill as he is. Children are having their heads blown off by military style weapons and all Paul can do is wear his stupid looking NRA hat to the polls.

And all voters do is keep voting for him.

LOL. Texas is one of the worst states to retire to.

March 24, 2023

No place but Texas. Literally.

According to a study referenced by the Houston Chronicle:

A report from Seniorly, which provides an online directory of over 60,000 senior living communities, ranked the Lone Star State as the seventh-most expensive state for seniors. The ranking accounted for average retirement income, cost of living, average electricity bill cost and more.

It’s almost funny, if it wasn’t so damn expensive to live in Texas for anyone. Electricity, home insurance, and college tuition was reformed in 2003 by the republican legislature. All have skyrocketed since. Seniors probably don’t care about the cost of education unless they are paying for it for their grand kids because their kids can’t afford it but the cost of electricity and home insurance could crush them. Texas ranks #5 in highest home insurance rates. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/insurance/home-insurance-texas and #21 in electricity affordability  (#1 is good. #50 is bad) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deregulation_of_the_Texas_electricity_ma and it is getting worse.

Besides the cost of electricity and other essentials, Texas ranks #1 in domestic terrorist threats, #1 in mass shootings, #45 in property taxes, and #49 in living standards. All of these rankings are listed here. The Chronicle continues:

“The first is affordability,” Healy said. “The second is personal engagement, like where can people thrive when they age. And the third is access to health care. So this study, in and of itself, is an effort to take a deep dive into that first factor, which is affordability.”

Besides all of the rankings, Texas, once known as the friendly state, hates the gay community, Muslims, Jews, and other non-Christians. Texas craps all over our educators, and have flooded our streets with weapons even law enforcement are afraid of. We are slowly moving to a privatized education system like Louisiana did with horrible results. Every year it gets worse but people continue to flock here because it aligns with their values.

We really do suck.

Police are afraid of the AR15.

March 22, 2023

NOTE: PARDON MY LANGUAGE BUT I AM DONE FUCKING AROUND.

We are at a point that we must ask the hard question: What the fuck is wrong with us?

For living fucks sakes! Law enforcement that entered the Uvalde school was so afraid of the AR15, which the 18 year old shooter had legally purchased, that they waited for over an hour to do something. According to the Texas Tribune:

“You knew that it was definitely an AR,” Uvalde Police Department Sgt. Donald Page said in an interview with investigators after the school shooting. “There was no way of going in. … We had no choice but to wait and try to get something that had better coverage where we could actually stand up to him.”

Wait? Wait? Are you fucking kidding me? The police were equip with body armor, guns, and shields. The children were armed with crayons, glue sticks, and construction paper. People lining the streets of the Friendswood 4th of July parade, shoppers at Walmart, people who are worshipping at St Bernadette Catholic church are armed with fireworks, groceries, and bibles. If police are too afraid to confront a good guy who bought a gun to become a bad guy killing children what about us? What about you?

This report just shows you that this gun violence condoned by the Republican Party and endorsed by our State Representative Dennis Paul is nothing but a mental health issue. You have to be one sick motherfucker to be an elected official with the power to stop this senseless killing and sit back and do nothing but wear a dumbass looking NRA hat on top of your sick ass melon. But Dennis Paul isn’t the only sick fuck to blame for the deaths of 19 children and 2 of their teachers. Those who do nothing, those who keep voting for these rotten bastards, those who turn their heads and do nothing but offer thoughts and prayers even though they don’t think or pray, are also responsible for those kids whose heads were blown off. They are also responsible for the kids who were crying for their mommies laying in a pool of blood. They are also responsible for those kids who are physically and mentally scarred for life.

We are a mental health state. We are a sick, sick state. God damn us all to hell.

Texas bill would allow high school seniors carry guns

March 12, 2023

You have to get up pretty damn early in the morning to make shit up like this.

Texas is well known for being the epicenter for stupidity when it comes to laws governing the state. After law enforcement testified against open carry, Texas Republicans passed open carry. After the Santa Fe High School shooting killing 10 they passed Permitless Carry allowing anyone to openly carry a gun without fear of being questioned or challenged. Law Enforcement across the state was against that bill also. So now after the Uvalde shooting that killed 19 children and 2 teachers, Texas Republicans need to pass some kind of gun nut bill. They have one.

House Bill 666 (seriously) filed by State Representative Ima D. Opé would allow 18 year old seniors to carry guns in school. According to Opé” “Allowing law abiding citizens to carry in high schools would provide immediate protection against another law abiding 18 year old who legally bought an assault weapon, armor piercing bullets, and body armor from attacking our defenseless students.”

State Representative Dennis Paul (R-Houston) had this to say “Well considering we did absolutely nothing after 19 10 year olds had their heads blow off while attending grade school, I am glad we are at least considering doing something to sell more guns. I will offer my thoughts and prayers for the passage of this bill.”

Welcome to Texas folks. And welcome to Satire Sunday. (or is it?)

Texas is #1 in mass shootings! #ThoughtsAndPrayers

February 20, 2023

No Place but Texas. Literally.

Texas Republicans are very proud of being #1 in unlimited access to guns. They love their guns and letting anyone dress like GI Joe or a cop with loaded assault weapons, body armor, and silencers. This is who they are.

Texas is #1 in mass shootings overtaking California starting in 2015. In just a month we have had 2 mass shootings, the latest in Allan Texas at a shopping mall leaving 8 dead including a 5 year old boy. Prior to that it was the shooting in Cleveland Texas leaving 5 dead including a 9 year old boy.

Greg Abbott claims the shooting in Allen was an “unspeakable tragedy” which is total bullshit. It was an avoidable tragedy. Abbott doesn’t need to offer thoughts and prayers, instead he should offer an apology to the families of the dead and to the families of the victims that will require care for the rest of their lives. This is Abbott’s fault for not taking action to curb gun violence after the killing of 27 Christians at a church, or the 10 students killed at Santa Fe, or the 21children killed in Uvalde or the 5 immigrants killed in Cleveland.

The death of these folks in Allen Texas is Greg Abbott’s fault and the fault of every goddamn elected official who refuses to take action to curb gun violence.

Law Enforcement debunks Greg Abbott’s claim about “defunding” police

February 13, 2023

HARRIS COUNTY COALITION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT DEBUNKS GOVERNORS CLAIM OF DEFUNDING THE POLICE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday February 13, 2023

Harris County, Texas. The Harris County Coalition of Law Enforcement, consisting of members of law enforcement across Harris County and the City of Houston, issued the following response to Governor Greg Abbott’s tweet concerning funding for law enforcement in Harris County.

“Over the last few years law enforcement has been unfairly attacked due to a number of nation wide events of police misconduct. We all agree that our police force must be adequately trained and adequately paid while also holding them accountable for misconduct. This is not up for debate. Unfortunately there are those who have created this false idea of “defund the police” and those who are exploiting it.

Unfortunately Governor Greg Abbott is one of those who are exploiting this situation. We want to make sure Governor Abbott is aware that no one supports defunding our law enforcement. No one at the State, County, or City level including Harris County, has called for the defunding our police force or cutting our budgets. In fact if the Governor would take a few minutes to review the budget he would find that our budget has increased which is far from the hyperbole of defunding.

Law enforcement over the year have had a great relationship with the Governor. Under his leadership he put more guns on the street, allowing anyone to open carry assault weapons with body armor piercing bullets in the streets that we patrol. These individuals are there to provide backup to our members when needed. There is nothing more comforting to law enforcement than to see well armed, well trained, and throughly vetted gun owners ready to provide needed firepower. Governor Abbott and his party’s support of our men and women during the Jan 6 Capitol riot was greatly appreciated. We will never forget it.

We encourage the Governor to put down his phone, get off of twitter and off his ass, and learn how to read a budget.”

Another time for thoughts and prayers. 10 killed in mass shooting

January 23, 2023

One of these days we are going to have to ask the very difficult question to our elected officials, straight to their face. What the fuck is wrong with you?

Look, I’ve done my duty and asked my State Representative, Dennis Paul, that question when I met him on the greenbelt walking the dog. It was the first thing out of my mouth, just days after 19 children were slaughtered by an 18 year old with easy access to military weapons, access that Dennis Paul gave him, access that the Republican Party gave him.

On that day they didn’t even offer thoughts and prayers, as if that has worked in the past. So our irresponsible attitude towards gun ownership has taken the lives of 10 Americans in California using, you guessed it, a military style weapon. Although the laws in California are more strict that Texas, which isn’t saying much, the irresponsible, playful attitude towards gun ownership emanates out of Texas where laws are nearly nonexistent.

In Texas anyone can openly carry a military style weapon, dressed like GI Joe, with body armor, high capacity clips, body armor, and hundreds of rounds of armor piercing bullets and our law enforcement can’t do a thing about it. They can’t ask them if they are allowed to have a gun or carry a gun or even own a gun because the law that Dennis Paul championed prohibits it. Someone dressed like a cartel member could walk the sidewalks of Paul’s own street and there is absolutely nothing law enforcement can do because there is nothing illegal about it.

I’ve said it before. This isn’t responsible, conservative, gun ownership. This is just plain stupidity. It is dangerous. Texas and Paul have set a bar for others across the country. It doesn’t make us safer. It doesn’t make it safer for our law enforcement officials. Ask those who were at the Uvalde shooting how safe they felt as they stood in the hall listening to the children crying for their mommies as they were being slaughtered.

The killing continues claiming 10 more in a mass shooting along with many others every single day. So, grow a pair and ask one of two hard question.

What the fuck is wrong with you? What the fuck is wrong with us?

The Squad vs The Insurrection Caucus in bills filed/passed

January 6, 2023

Passing bills in Congress is hard work. It requires reaching across to the other side of the aisle, negotiate, compromise, and politicing. That’s what politicians do. Unfortunately those on the extremes, the members of The Squad and the members of The Insurrection Caucus are not capable of passing bills.

Over the last 4 years The Squad consisting of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Cory bush, Lohan Omar, Ayanna Presley, Jamaal bowman, and Rashida Harbi Tlaib have filed a total of 290 bills, passing only 4. 3 of these bills renamed buildings.

The insurrection Caucus is worse. Consisting of Chip Roy, Matt Gaetz, Andy Biggs, Scott Perry, Paul Gosar, Lauren Boebert, and Jim Jordon the Caucus has filed 668 bills over 14 years, passing only 8. All but 1 of these bills renamed buildings.

Of note, Jim Jordan hasn’t filed a single bill over his entire 14 years in office. Lauren Boebert filed 42 bills that were so extreme none of them were sent to a committee for consideration. Andy Biggs filed 175 bills over 6 years with 1 signed into law renaming a clinic.

Most of The Squad filed a number of bills but only 4 became law. Cory Bush over 2 years filed 24 bills with only 1 being considered in committee. The Squad has followed in the steps of their leader, Bernie Sanders who after 32 years filed 3 bills, passed 3 bills, all of them renaming buildings.

These groups are similar because they are not capable of reaching across the aisle but make no mistake about the differences. The Squad isn’t defending the insurrectionists of jan 6, or supporting Donald Trump while he breaks the law over and over and over.

There are clear differences.

That tree had one job.

December 26, 2022

Greg Abbott is nothing but a cruel, crippled jackass of a human being.

Maybe Abbott is still mad about his mistake of running under a tree being cut down leaving hm a crippled, vindictive, cruel human being. Maybe he is taking the anger of being crippled out on the families of gun violence or the women and children of immigrants coming to our country looking for a better place to live. Or maybe he is just an asshole.

On Christmas Eve while Abbott was reaching up to get a warm cup of wassail he was sticking immigrant women and children, some without shoes, on buses to be shipped like cattle to Washington DC in freezing weather. He thinks it’s cute. He gets a virtual boner just thinking about it. It’s nothing but cruel. Just plain cruel. It is especially cruel playing games with immigrant families that came her LEGALLY on Christmas Eve, the night before the birth of little baby Jesus who Abbott claims to worships.

My suggestion for Abbott is to go back to church and get a prop so he could drop to his knees and ask for forgiveness for his acts of sick, cruelty to other vulnerable human beings because he is going to hell. The acts of cruelty he has shown to the families who lost their kids in shootings across the state and his act of cruelty on Christmas Eve has punched his ticket to hell where he will be received with open arms.

And every Texan who voted for this crippled human being should also go to church, join Abbott on his knees, and beg for forgiveness for putting this man in office.
