League City Councilman, Captain Chaos, calls for smoking out a leaker of public information

March 9, 2023
From Galveston Daily News.

This ought to get wild.

According to the Galveston Daily News League City Councilman, Justin Hicks, seen here posing for a Grecian Formula commercial, has called for the “smoking out” of a leaker, a city employee, who tipped the Galveston Daily News about his racist email sent in 2021 to the Police Chief. Last week a citizen posted the emails Hicks sent to the police chief questioning the hiring practices of the department. As posted last week:

“Please tell me that LCPD is committed to hiring officer candidates based on qualifications, NOT skin color.”

It didn’t go well for Hicks and he was left with egg on his face and in his beard. Instead of letting this email, obtained via an Open Records Request, die out, Hicks has breathed life into it by calling for the outing of the city employee who tipped the Daily News of it’s existence. From GDN:

“Someone is going to get busted,” Hicks said Tuesday. “What you do on government time is going to come back to bite you.”

Hicks might want to review the Freedom of Information Act, the Open Records Act, and maybe the legal do’s and don’ts of being on the League City Council. Every record, email, letter, correspondence, etc is subject to the laws governing all elected officials with few exceptions. Also calling for retaliation against an employee for disclosing public information might also disqualify you for serving as an elected official. It might be considered an abuse of power. That usually doesn’t end well.

Luckily Hicks is in Texas where lawlessness is considered part of being a republican.

The fix was in at League City Council meeting on the book ban

March 1, 2023

We have seen this 👩‍👧‍👧before and it didn’t end well.

The all white male League City Council voted 5-3 to approve the book ban resolution last night even after hours of testimony in opposition. What was interesting was the no show of those who supported the resolution in its original form. It’s clear they were told not to attend since it was going to pass anyway. And it did by a 5-3 vote with Councilmen Crews, Tessler, and Bowen voting no.

Speakers were not only passionate they brought great information, some quoting Supreme Court cases and Texas law. Some called for the resignation of Councilman Justin Hicks (Captain Chaos) who authored the resolution. Hicks was clearly the target of verbal attacks and sat there like he just got caught watching porn on his city laptop. You can see the public comment here.

Let’s make sure we all know what this resolution is about. It has absolutely nothing to do with “christian family values”. If it did they would have included the call for banning books on those having an affair, or getting divorce violating the sanctity of marriage, or those who lie on a daily basis, or those who pork a porn star, pay her off, and lie about it to voters. It has nothing to do with wholesome christian family values.

In the first version of the resolution there was a clear attack on the gay community. That language was removed in the modified version but, as the old saying goes, when they tell you who they are, believe them. This is an attack on our families, friends, teachers, students, and others in the community. As in the 1930’s they have picked a group of people to be the enemy. It didn’t end well.

This resolution is no different than the resolution’s being passed in other white wing city councils. The Council will eventually spend your tax dollars to defend this in a lawsuit which they will lose.

This is who they are.

Captain Chaos, League City Councilman Justin Hicks, Racist email

February 25, 2023
Captain Chaos

You would think a 13 year veteran of the armed forces would know better. He doesn’t.

In a recent email exchange between League City Councilman Justin Hicks and League City Police Chief Gary Ratliff, Hicks asks the Chief:

“Please tell me that LCPD is committed to hiring officer candidates based on qualifications, NOT skin color.”

Yep. Captain Chaos the Open Records Act can be a pain in a racists ass. the Police Chief responded with basically “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

We are a civil service agency, and we are one of the most strict agencies to get hired with. The requirements to get hired are the same for everyone. I am almost offended that you would insinuate that I would have lesser standards for any group.”

Almost? I’m offended just having to write about this! Luckily Hicks buddy, Mayor Nick Long, came to his defense. “Please excuse Captain Chaos. He is on a mission to piss off as many people as he can.” (Not exactly what he said) He actually said:

“I would not take this question personally.”

LOL. The full email exchange can be found here.

The League City Karen invites an anti-gay speaker to read to kids

February 19, 2023

League City has released the Karen!

League City City Councilman, Justin Hicks, posing with a flag is is about to burn, is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and has led the effort to limit the 1st Amendment of the Constitution by banning books in the public library that he thinks are obscene. The book ban is code name for “LGBTQ ban”. It has nothing to do with “family values”. If that was the case he would be banning books by adulterers, liars, single parents, and fornicators! FORNICATORS!!! But that isn’t what he and his white wing buddies are doing.

Using the power of the public records request citizens obtained a copy of an email from Hicks, using his official city account, to a known anti-LGBTQ author inviting him to read one of his “Christian” books to kids at the library. I don’t believe Karen has the authority to decide who can read to kids. I would think the librarians would have that authority.

In his email Karen highlights his legislation to ban books, even though he didn’t pass any “legislation”, it was only a resolution. Karen claims that wholesome, family values, books are disappearing from the shelves (they aren’t). The entire email can be read below.

Make no mistake about this book banning crap. It has nothing to do with family values. It is an attack on members of our community, our family members, our friends, and our neighbors. Next up for Justin, he will be asking to speak to the manager.

What is the deal with Justin Hicks and Christine Parizo?

February 16, 2023
From Facebook

What is it with these two?

Justin Hicks is the newly elected city councilman of League City and has made a mark with his book banning campaign. Christine Parizo is the former candidate for CCISD who lost by 25 points (points, not votes) and demanded multiple recounts and requested action by the Texas Attorney General. They declined and have considered the issue culllllllosed.

So what are these two up to? Hicks recently aired League City’s dirty laundry in a Facebook post against a fellow councilman, Tom Crews, concerning the American Legion who was requesting help obtaining approval to put up signs. This request was approved. Hicks then wanted League City to pay for the signs which the American Legion did not request.

So how does Parizo fit into this? Recently Parizo has filed an open records request for all emails of Councilman Tom Crews. It’s almost like these two are coordinating with each other. Or maybe it has to do with the book banning resolution that Hicks sponsored. Either way these two look to be in cahoots with each other.

Now how Scott Bowen, CCISD Trustee, fits between these two might be another question to ask. Hicks recently butted into the CCISD election lawsuit filed by Misty Dawson against Trustee Cejka claiming election fraud. Hicks claimed the funding of the defense of the Trustee by CCISD was illegal. The funding was eventually approved, something even Bowen voted for. The suit was then dropped by Dawson. Hicks was left with egg on his face.

I’m not sure what exactly these two or three are doing but it is creating chaos in the League City family.
