You would think more people in the district would be supporting him. They are not.
In his 8 day out report Bowen received most of his money from PACs and outside of the district donors. He raised $89,000 which is a considerable amount and much more than his predecessor ever raised in one period. Of the $89,000, $65,000 came from 3 PACs, Texans for Lawsuit Reform ($40,000), Texans for a Conservative Majority ($15,000), and surprisingly Texas Trial Lawyer PAC ($10,000). That doesn’t make cents.
Texans for a Conservative Majority is the PAC formerly named Defend Texas Liberty. DTL was disbanded after they were caught meeting with Nick Fuentes, a well known white supremacist. This PAC is funded by two billionaires out of the Dallas area.
Of the remaining $24,000, only $3,700 came from within the district.
Kudos to the campaign volunteers of Robert Mitchell for conducting themselves in a lawful manner at the early voting site of the Clear Lake Library. Bowen on the other hand does what he does best, push the envelope of lawful conduct and being a dick about everything.
There have been a number of complaints about Bowen and a couple of other republican candidates concerning harassment of voters, campaigning too close to the polls, and impeding traffic in the parking lot at the Clear Lake Library and other polling locations. The police were called out over the weekend to remind them of the laws governing the polling locations in Harris County. That didn’t stop Bowen from continuing being a dick after they left the area.
As I pointed out in the past there are things you Cannot do at the polls. You can’t campaign within 100 ft of the doors. You can’t harass voters. You can’t yell at them. You can’t use a sound amplifier within 1000 ft. There really isn’t a reason to be acting like a dick in the parking lot of the polls. It doesn’t make sense, it makes enemies. No one wants to be harassed or yelled at or having signs waved in their face. That is just plain rude.
BTW Statistically, hanging out at the polling location doesn’t increase your vote totals. It is as ineffective as robo calls. If you are being harassed at the polls call 713-755-6965 and lodge a complaint or ask to speak to the Presiding Judge of your polling location and voice your concerns. 713-755-6965.
Once again it is Council Member Joseph Lowry. Lowry continues to run around like Chicken Little with his baseless allegations of criminal activity against elected officials and La Marque employees. In his recent “Facebook Live” video, where he looks like bum in a wife beater shirt, Lowry again alleges the Deputy City Clerk is a criminal and is leaving her position. City Council Members probably can’t file suit because of their office but city employees can and probably will.
If she is really leaving I smell a lawsuit coming against Lowry for harassment and workplace hostility. Unfortunately that suit might also target the City at a time when the taxpayers can least afford it, literally. While everyone on Council and employees are working to restore La Marque’s financial security, Lowry is running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off talking out his ass and making empty threats against the City, the Mayor, Council Members, city staff, Texas City staff, and anyone else he can. (Including me) Yet he never follows through. He probably has a direct line into the La Marque Police Department so he can file baseless complaints. So far nothing has stuck.
BTW. Lowry is facing a lawsuit from multiple people with a court date in May. He also has a suit in Harris County with a court date coming soon. It will be fun to watch Lowry take the stand under oath.
Bob Mitchell, former President of the Bay Area Houston Economical Partnership took a swipe at Scott Bowen with one of his mailers. “35 years old, unmarried, lives alone”. Hum. To be fair that is what people said about him when he was on the School Board. He was a partisan hack running to take over the board. He had no experience in education besides graduating from Clear Lake High School. He had no children. He wasn’t married. He lived alone. Luckily his attempt to take over the board was stopped. Mitchell’s push card claims Bowen lost his school board race because of his support of the mask mandates. I think it was his support of school vouchers which made him lose by 8 points. I believe Mitchell is also in favor of school vouchers.
Bowen has struck back claiming Mitchell lives outside of the district and comparing him to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo. It is a stretch claiming Mitchell’s support for policies supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the work place. Many companies actually embrace diversity in the workplace. It makes cents. It’s a lame attempt at a smear but it works on republicans.
Republican voters, especially those in the business sector, should know Mitchell is far more capable of representing the district. He has experience working with elected officials. He is the adult in the room. He has the support of the business community. Bowen has a history of failed leadership on the School Board. He has a history of taking a knee and doing the bidding of his party and Greg Abbott. He will be Abbott’s boy doing what he is told to do.
Late last year Traci Gibson woke up and decided to run for the Chair of HCDP, the 3rd largest county in the United States. She was a newly appointed precinct chair. She hasn’t participated in the party or even donated to the party. She didn’t vote in the Democratic primary in 2024. Or 2022. Or 2020. She has made flimsy claims about the state of the Party. She has been endorsed by just two organizations, Houston Black American Democrats and Area 5. And she publicly made claims that elected officials like Houston Controller Chris Hollins endorsed her campaign, yet there is no evidence he did. You can view the video here. Her statement begins at 1:29:27.
Do us a favor and don’t vote for her.
Mike Doyle took office a few years ago. He inherited a Party deep in debt. In the short time as Chair Mike has raised money, the most important task of a Chair. He pulled us out of debt and has a $3.5 million budget to win in 2026. Mike has bee accessible. He visited our local club a couple of times informing us of the state of the Party. Mike has stood strong with our union members even rescheduling our major fundraiser until the strike was resolved. Overall Mike has performed well. Not perfect but close. At a time when we need to unite in order to take the House of Representatives and put a stop to Trump’s lawlessness we do not need a change in leadership.
Mike can be found at the very bottom of the ballot.

It’s easy to find out.
According to records from the Texas Ethics Commission the Bay Area Conservative PAC was created in 2017 and currently has about $10,000 Cash on Hand. Over the last 8 years they have raised over $62,000 from just a hand full of donors, including $10,000 from Don Huffines, a billionaire running for Texas Comptroller. Recently it was discovered that Huffines bought the Jeffery Epstein mansion in Texas soon after his death.
Other donors include Senator Money Mayes Middleton, League City Mayor Nick Long and Galveston County Judge Mark Henry. The full list of donors can be viewed below. Recently the Galveston Daily News reported on the race for Galveston County District Clerk between the incumbent John Kinard and Samatha Morris. The PAC donated more than $10,000 to the challenger Morris.
Maybe Huffines will invite Morris to Epstein’s mansion for an election party? Donations sorted by name.
Former CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen, seen here taking a knee to Greg Abbott, and former President of Bay Area Economic Partnership, Bob Mitchell, are raking in outside special interest money for their race to represent the Bay Area.
Scott Bowen and Bob Mitchell are running for the Republican nomination for State Representative of the Bay Area. Both have raised significant amounts of money for the primary election to be held March 3. You probably have seen the Bowen and Mitchell signs littering the district. Most of their money is coming from outside of the district and from Political Action Committees (PACs)
Scott Bowen has raised about $213,000 with $108,000 coming from Texans for Lawsuit Reform. Only $19,774 of all of Bowen’s donations came from within the district. TLR was created by David Weekley, a homebuilder, and his brother to limit lawsuits against those who harm consumers. Another $25,000 came from Texans United for a Conservative Majority PAC. This PAC is funded by the two billionaires out of Dallas, Timothy Dunn and Farris Wilks both featured on CNN (How two Texas megadonors have turbocharged the state’s far-right shift). They used to be called Defend Texas Liberty until their leadership was caught meeting with Nick Fuentes, a known extremist, white supremacist. (Go ahead and google him) Bowen recruited Defend Texas Liberty to fund candidates running for CCISD Trustee. They all lost. Defend Texas Liberty also financed the campaign for Bryan Slaton. Slaton was caught providing alcohol to an underaged staffer and having sex with her. He was the first House Representative to be removed from office.
Bob Mitchell raised $145,000 with $107,000 coming from the Associated Republicans of Texas Campaign Fund. About $18,331 came from within the district. Early voting starts Tuesday.
Well it looks like the only person actually breaking or bending the law is Council Member Joseph Lowry.
Lowry still owes taxes for 2024 and 2025 and he recently paid off liens against his company by the IRS and the State. This is a sitting Council Member, one that runs around calling everyone a criminal. It’s getting old. Now his wife is running for City Council, or so he says. He has enough money to run a campaign but not enough to pay his damn taxes.
This guy has been a regular at the Clear Lake Freeman Library.
Back in 2018 one of the poll workers at the Clear Lake Library was wearing an nra hat. This was just 2 days after the Pittsburgh mass shooting at a synagogue. Not only was it a violation of the election laws, it was a real dick move. He was confronted, Fox News 26 ran a story, and the County Clerk (a republican) told him to take it off.
But the Judge of the voting location defended him and would not instruct him, a poll worker being paid by taxes, to remove the hat. It turns out the nra dude was related (I believe they are married). Last election he was back at the polls still wearing that gdamn hat. So if you see him this time around ask to speak to the Judge and demand he remove whatever the hell he is wearing that violates the election code.
If that doesn’t work call the following number and report the incident. 713-755-6965. If it is a serious violation call the Constables at 281-488-4040or walk across the parking lot and talk to a Sheriff.
A grand jury declined to indict two IT workers working for Texas City. They were charged with a 3rd degree felony for impersonating La Marque City Councilman Joseph Lowry. The grand jury “no-billed” the charges and Lowry is now running around like chicken little claiming the DA’s office or whoever presented the case screwed up. WOMP WOMP.
He is also threatening the two who were charged claiming if they do not hand over some kind of information he will file a civil suit against them. Good luck with that. I have said it before, Lowry is like a constipated two year old. He ain’t gonna do shit. Lowry has made threats before and never carried them out. He made threats to me claiming I was harassing and stalking him. He claimed he was going to turn me into the appropriate authorities. He didn’t. La Marque Police Department has no record of him doing squat.
The harassment has been documented and is being reported to the appropriate authorities. LNN Reborn will continue to monitor and report any further developments involving this individual and others engaged in similar conduct.
He has made threats to the city and others and hasn’t done shit. So Monday will come and go and he probably won’t do shit and will end up full of even more shit. I’ve served on 3 grand juries. After hearing thousands of cases we averaged about a 1.8% no-bill rate. The bar is very low for an indictment. Grand jurors are not asked to determine guilt, they are only asked to determine if there is credible evidence a crime has been committed. If so, they indict and send the case to a jury. To be no-billed means there wasn’t evidence there was a crime committed.
If you choose to attend to hear the Republican candidates for State Representative for the Bay Area discuss Sharia Law, expanding school vouchers, and Immigration. Hosted by the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership.
While our Senator Money Mayes Middleton was spreading his Christian faith to the CHINO’s (Christians in Name Only) around the state, another candidate for Texas Attorney General raised his racist head. Aaron Reitz (R) went on the attack of Middleton’s target with racist comments. From Yahoo:
Aaron Reitz, among the GOP candidates running to be Texas Attorney General, on Monday suggested without evidence that the leader of the Texas House Democrats, who is Asian, had lied during his citizenship application process and should have his citizenship revoked.
Aaron joins Middleton in making racist comments towards State Representative Gene Wu. Middleton not only made the racist comment, he double down on it and refused to apologize. As I have said in the past, the (R) behind a names no longer refers to party affiliation. It means Racist.
The new chair will take control of the Party in June, right smack dab in the middle of our coordinated campaign. To change our leadership midstream is just plain stupid. You can watch the entire forum here.
I took one for the team and watched the 90 minutes forum between the Harris County Democratic Party Chair Mike Doyle and his challenger Traci Gibson. Beside being an incredible stupid idea to change leadership mid stream the forum can be summarized easily. Mike Doyle has long, successful, political experience while Gibson has ideas for political experience. Mike knows what he is doing. He has an approved budget of $3.5 Million. He has raised money. He has brought the Party out of a huge deficit. He has reached out to clubs, organizations, and groups. He isn’t perfect but he has good experience. I trust hm. Can he do better? Sure. Maybe the Party should tell clubs like the Bay Area Democratic Movement on how effective texting is or how effective writing postcards are at getting people to vote. That might be something the HCDP could work on.
Gibson on the other hand has little experience and I believe she has exaggerated her few political accomplishments such as working her precinct. Her precinct has 2277 voters and only 51 (not 51%) turned out in 2025. That’s not working your precinct. I do not believe she registered voters as she claims but that can be found out via open records and I could be incorrect. Her lack of a Democratic voting record is troubling and her justification to this issue was more troubling. Not voting in your Party’s 2024, 2022, or 2020 primary is NOT an advantage as she claims. Her claims of working for the party is not believable. She claims to have worked robo calls. I’m not sure how you “work” robo calls and, by the way, robo calls are statistically worthless. It makes me think she didn’t work anything.
Traci also thinks she will take control in March but it is June, right in the middle of our campaign. Traci is good at being Miss obvious with simple minded comments like “we need to work together” and “We have to reach out to the youth” and “We have to win in 2026” and “We need work together” (Did I say that twice?”). It makes me think AND/OR DUH! Her endorsements are also bothering with only two organizations endorsing her, the Harris County Black American Democrats, and Area 5 which is puzzling. Why? She claims the City Controller, Chris Hollins has endorsed her. I have not seen any proof of that, and if that is actually true it is very disturbing.
We have an opportunity to win back the House and hold this damn administration accountable. Changing effective leadership is not the way to do it. Traci should work her precinct during this election and maybe run again after November. The HCDP has agreed to hire a fundraiser. Maybe if Traci loses she should ask to use her fundraising skills for this position, learn the workings of the party, get some experience, and then run.
Yesterday the President of the United States posted a racist video depicting President Obama and his wife as apes. As the only Black Senator in the Republican Party said it was the “most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House”. According to Trump it did not come from “the White House”. He has acknowledged it came directly from him and he has refused to apologize for it, although he has removed the post from his account.
Meanwhile State Senator Money Mayes Middleton has remained silent, refusing to address it, and continuing to accept his endorsement. Currently Middleton is running for Attorney General and is on a state tour bragging about his Christian values and his endorsement by Donald Trump. The “CHINOs” (Christians in Name Only) are eating him up. They love the fact that he himself has made racist comments to a sitting colleague, State Representative Gene Wu, and has accepted an endorsement from a felon, a liar, a cheater, an adulterer, a racist.
State Representative Dennis Paul is also silent while running for Middleton’s vacant Senate seat. He also brags about his endorsement from Trump.
Republican Candidates for Dennis Paul’s vacant seat so far have said nothing. Both claim to be Christians and “conservatives” with Bob Mitchell declaring himself a “Trump Conservative” which at this point may not be helpful in a general election. In the Republican primary it may put him above Scott Bowen. Both have been asked for a comment. If I receive one from either I will post.
In any other advanced, decent, country posting a racist video would be the end of your political career. In the Republican Party it moves you ahead in the polls.
I’ve seen this behavior before. Someone pushes the boundaries of the law or the workplace, making racist comments, sexual harassment in the workplace, making unsubstantiated allegations, making threats, etc, etc. and then all of a sudden they are born again Christians. This looks like what is happening to La Marque City Councilman Joseph Lowry.
Lowry has a long, long history of doing all of the above including making false DBAs for Council Member and one of his favorite targets. But all of a sudden Lowry’s behavior has changed and he is on a pity me tour. His “Lowry News Network” website has gone cold. He was on his best behavior acting like a productive member of the City Council at the last meeting. And just recently he posted an AI generated “Oh pity me I’m born again” post on Facebook. It’s typical behavior when something or someone has legally slapped the hell out of him.
My bet is that his behavior has caught up with him. He probably has been approached by the new Police Chief or the District Attorney, or maybe the Judge in Washington State who issued a Domestic Violence Protection Order against him. Or maybe his deposition in the various civil suits have caught up with him, exposing his conduct of harassment. So now he is asking for forgiveness or maybe a get out of jail card.
This should be interesting. I45Now is sponsoring a forum between the two republicans for State Representative of the Bay Area. Come learn how they intend to abolish property taxes, end Sharia Law, and expand the school voucher program. You can submit your questions here: https://form.jotform.com/i45NOW/SH129GOPForum
BTW They are all white, male, Republicans on City Council which doesn’t really matter, but Council Member Chad Tressler has broken away from Trump.
I did not see that coming. League City Councilman Chad Tressler posted a long article condemning Trump and his party for leaving him. The last time he posted something this controversial was against his Council mate Justin Hicks who by the way is living a great life after resigning in disgrace from City Council. His post highlights the obvious about Trump, his socialist policies, economic disaster, tariffs, our relationship with our Allies, law and order (LOL), and more. It is a clear break ending with the old line of “I didn’t leave the party, the party left me” but also with basically “Both sides do it”.
Both sides don’t do it. We don’t tolerate candidates who make racist remarks, mock the disabled, call people petty names or tolerate those that do. Unlike the Republican Party the far left of the Democratic Party is kept in check. Their crazy ideas like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All cratered with little support from the Democrats. The craziest thing Biden did when in office was trying to pass college tuition forgiveness, which also died and rightfully so.
But Tressler’s party is Trump’s party and there is NOTHING conservative about it. Their crazy ideas have either become law via Congress like the Big Deficit Bill, or via Trump’s executive orders. Their economic policies are driving up our deficit, stressing our dollar. Their claim to being the party of law and order is laughable (Jan 6, ICE) They tolerate Trump’s lies every single fucking day and the republicans in Congress have lost their balls to keep him and his administration in check as the Constitution was designed to do. That is actually the problem. If Republicans in Congress had been doing their gdamn jobs the party wouldn’t be in this fucking mess.
But Tressler is making good points for breaking away, although a bit too late. Maybe other elected officials who are wanting to continue their political careers should do the same because with Trump in charge the Republican Party is about as popular as herpes at a hot tub party. Kudos to Councilman Tressler for breaking away.
Cameron Rollwitz, a member of the extreme left wing of the Socialist Party, is running for Texas Senate in the Bay Area, Senate District 11. Maybe he thinks following the new Mayor of New York, who is a socialist, will work in deep red SD11. It’s not. It never will. Voters in SD11 are not like New York voters or Austin voters. Many of them are ignorant MAGAts and scare easily especially when approached by a socialist or “progressive”.
Rollwitz doesn’t have any money. He has $107 cash on hand for a race that will require $1 Million. Rollwitz can talk a great game. Calling for “Texas Medicare for All” which is not only a bad idea, a pipe dream, it is a legal nightmare. Bernie Sanders has tried to get some type of M4A for 40 years and has failed. Medicare is a federal program, not a State program. It’s not that the idea has merit it’s that Rollwitz has absolutely no political skills or experience to spearhead this effort and make this a reality.
The talking points of the election season is the cost of living in the district. Health insurance, auto, home, are skyrocketing making it difficult to buy a home or to sell a house or to buy a house. Groceries continue to rise and yet he is running on high speed rail, internet access, and unattainable ideas like M4A. WTF?
Rollwitz has been able to convince a few organizations to endorse him over his opponent including The Caucus and the far left Houston Progressive Caucus. Rollwitz voting record is questionable because I can’t find his voting record. His comments and signs are concerning. Is he a Democrat or not? It really doesn’t matter. If by chance he would win the nomination he will never get a chance to debate his republican opponent and if he did he would embarrass the crap out of the party. He is not a serious candidate and deserves nothing from his opponent.
Rollwitz should drop out and take his own advice. Go build your own party and keep us informed.
As my dad would say when I had the hood of the car propped open “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
Our School Board is running well. There is no drama. There are no partisan conflicts. There is no Scott Bowen. This is good. Ever since Scott was removed from office the Board seems to be running on all cylinders, not perfect, but running well. Trustees Arturo Sanchez, Position 3 and Jamieson Mackay, Position 2 have filed for reelection. This is good for the community, the district, parents, teachers, and students.
Personally, as my dad would say, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. And don’t run against a Trustee that is doing the job under extreme conditions. For the last 30 years education funding has been cut and that continues to this day with candidates (Scott)calling for abolishing public education funding without providing an alternative solution. Our Trustees will have a huge challenge in the next few years with vouchers expected to be expanded further eroding funding for our schools. This is the time for solid, experienced, leadership on the Board. We just can’t afford to change. Literally.
Unfortunately former CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen won’t go away. He has recruited another highly partisan candidate to run against Arturo Sanchez. Gabriel Frank Gonzales II, a precinct chair in the Republican Party, has filed to run against Sanchez. There are many reasons not to vote for Mr. Gonzales including his relationship to Bowen, his work history, and his position at a Charter School. God bless Gonzales for running but we really don’t need a challenge to a highly respected Trustee.
This isn’t the first time Bowen has recruited candidates to run against sitting Trustees. He recruited four unqualified candidates and the voters rejected them all and for very good reasons. Then in 2025 they rejected Bowen, for very good reasons. So once again, we will have to go to the polls to protect our public schools.
More on this later.
I believe Mr. Gonzales is pictured above on the right at an event for Bowen and State Representative Dennis Paul.
The case #202107817 filed in Harris County is set for trial on Feb 9, 2026 in the 333rd Judicial Court. This is Martin, Tomczak vs Six Brothers Concrete Pumping concerning “corporate and personal bullying”. Sound familiar? It was filed 5 years ago, was dismissed, then reinstated. Court cases are open to the public. It will be interesting to see if Lowry will take the stage then act like the victim. He is good at that.
