Is Shuttle Discovery Coming to Houston? No and Here’s Why

March 26, 2026

It’s actually pretty simple.

Shuttle Discovery belongs to the Smithsonian. They received full legal title and ownership from NASA in 2012. Congress appropriated $85 million in the Big Bumbling Bill to move it or at least start thinking about moving it. Unfortunately it’s not theirs to move. Besides the fact that moving this vehicle would require significant logistics and an incredible amount of money, Johnson Space Center doesn’t have a facility to store it and we already have a Shuttle that is much better. From a previous post titled You Might Not Want the Shuttle to be Sent to Houston:

The Woody is a replica of the Shuttle and was housed at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It was moved here after Kennedy’s winning bid to secure a Shuttle. Woody sits on top of a 747 at Space Center Houston and is actually a very interesting exhibit. You can walk through the bay, look into the cockpit, and actually touch it unlike the other ones.

Unlike the Woody, all of the shuttles are for display only. You can’t walk in it. You touch it. You can’t walk in the bay. What we have is actually better. Kids who come to see the Shuttle don’t know it’s not a real shuttle and they don’t care. This idea of moving the Shuttle to Houston is nothing more than a $85 Million political ad by Senator Cornyn trying to save his seat from being taken by Ken Paxton.

It’s not coming to Houston. It’s a sick, costly gimmick by Cornyn. Instead of funding TSA they are wasting money on a stupid, unnecessary project.

Spending Campaign Cash on Legal Fees. Ft Bend County Judge KP George

March 23, 2026

OUCH! $575,000 down the drain.

Ft Bend County Judge KP George was found guilty of money laundering, a third degree felony punishable by 2-10 years in jail. He was guilty of funneling $46,000 from his donors to his personal account. That is less than 10% of what he spent on legal fees in his defense. He funneled $575,000 from his donors to three attorneys, Rusty Hardin, Jared Woodfill, and Terry Yates. Yates and Woodfill pictured to your left.

Rusty received $125,000, Yates $110,000, and Woodfill received $340,000 all for naught. These expenditures were from 7/24 – 2/26. During that same period he spent $660,875 most on legal fees. Prior to the court case George was a Democrat but changed to the Republican Party because it was probably more inline with his Republican Christian values. (lol) Democrats applauded the move and was glad to see him out the door. Unfortunately for George he was beaten like a wet mop in the Republican primary and will be removed from office after his sentencing.

I am sure KP will be thanking all of his donors for their hard earned money that ended in a conviction.

LaMarque Councilman Goes to Trial Monday 3/23 in Harris County

March 22, 2026

Anyone want to attend? Harris County Civil Courthouse 333rd Court 201 Caroline St 14th floor, Houston, TX 77002. I would expect the first day will be for seating a jury and other overhead. (I’ll find out more tomorrow)

The Civil Case #202107817 TOMCZAK, MARTIN vs. SIX BROTHERS CONCRETE PUMPING LLC filed in Harris County  concerns a non compete clause signed by Martin Tomczak. According to the court documents Martin claims Lowry threatened him and potential employers with lawsuits based upon this non compete document leaving Tomczak unemployed. One of the documents submitted to the court is a list of texts and correspondence from Lowry. You can read the entire 27 pages here

Former County Judge Ed Emmitt Opens His Pie Hole. (a bit too late)

March 20, 2026

Finally, although 8 years too late. I won’t defend Judge Hidalgo’s rodeo dust up but….

In 2018 Ed Emmitt lost his seat to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo for a couple of reasons. One he didn’t campaign. He thought he had it in the bag and quite frankly he had a point. He was a very successful Judge. He did the job. There was no drama. He also used the term “hunker down” very well. He lost by about 1000 votes to a 29 year old with no political experience.

The second reason he lost was his support for Donald Trump. Emmitt was quiet as a mouse while Trump began his chaos campaign across the country. That didn’t help, neither did straight ticket voting. Voters were pissed and voted the Democratic straight ticket.

8 years later Ed has popped his head up to criticize Lina Hidalgo’ rodeo dust up while again being quiet like a fuckin mouse about his political lord and savior Trump. In an interview with Texas Monthly Ed said:

He said Hidalgo’s behavior was troubling. “We live in a time of a lot of politicians doing really bizarre things,” he said. “This may top the list.”

Really? Fuckin really? Are you a fuckin idiot Ed? The “top of the list”? Back in 2018 I wrote how Ed said nothing about Trump’s behavior such as mocking a disabled human being. Or his daily lies, or separating children from their parents and more but today there are so many other “Top of the list” candidates that Ed could put over a rodeo dust up such as:

  • Being Accused of molesting children in the Epstein files
  • Organizing a riot on the US Capitol
  • Porking a porn star, paying her off, and being convicted on 35 felonies
  • Stealing classified documents
  • Daily lies
  • Tariffs
  • Racism

And the list goes on and on. I wonder if Ed would have spoken up if Trump had porked a sheep at the rodeo. Probably not. Ed should do us all a favor and shut his ***damn pie hole.

Harris County Republicans Call for Trump to Resign

March 17, 2026

It’s hard to make this up.

You have to hand it to the Republicans in Harris County, including Harris County Commissioner Tom Ramsey, calling for Trump to resign. He would have ample reasons to do so including Trump being a convicted felon, an accused child abuser, a racist, a liar, an absolutely awful human being and a CHINO, Christian in Name Only. But there is more. Trump is a military dolt, a failed negotiator, a political bully, and an asshole. Trump started a deadly riot at the Capitol. He stole classified documents. He has plunged the nation into another war. He has cratered our economy. Ramsey has plenty of reasons to call for Trump’s resignation so his party can wash the stain out of their underwear.

But instead he calls for the resignation of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo for disrupting the Houston Rodeo. I would be the last person to defend Hidalgo at this point. I wish her well but I wish she would silently finish out her term. Ramsey is just full of shit and an incredible hypocrite when it comes to calling for anyone to resign. Members of the Republican Party have lost their right to criticize others concerning leadership, family values, fiscal responsibility, supporting our troops, law and order, all while looking the other way while the leader of their party is a political hypocrite.

So to those who are calling for Hidalgo to resign do us a favor and just shut the fuck up.

Money Mayes Middleton Buying His Way to the Attorney General’s Office

March 16, 2026

Texas is being run by Christian billionaires and millionaires like Middleton.

Senator Money Mayes Middleton, currently representing the Bay Area, is using his personal wealth to win the Republican nomination for Texas Attorney General. Middleton claims to be a man of Christian faith yet speaks with the jawbone of an ass(hole). He might want to read that book he carries around about it being easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God.

Since Jan 2025 Middleton has raised $15,182,681 for his primary race. Of that total 90%, $13,732,000 came from his own pocket. This isn’t the first time Middleton has used his personal wealth to win a seat in Texas Politics. In fact it is his third. He spent over $2 Million of his own money to win the Republican nomination for Texas House District 23. That race should have cost no more than $500,000 if it was competitive (it wasn’t). Then when Senator Larry Taylor retired, Middleton spent another $2 Million to win the Senate seat. Middleton has plenty of money to throw around to those willing to be like the image of Middleton, a white wing Christian nationalist.

Houston Police Officer Union Soils Themselves. Again.

March 12, 2026

FFS grow the f*** up.

A few years ago after a drug raid that seriously injured 4 Police Officers, the following press conference was highlighted by the lunatic ranting of Joey Gamaldi, the Houston Police Officers Union President, blaming the injuries on Black Lives Matter. Here is what he said:

“if you’re the ones that are out there spreading the rhetoric that police officers are the enemy, just know we’ve all got your number now, we’re going to be keeping track of all of y’all, and we’re going to make sure that we hold you accountable every time you stir the pot on our police officers. We’ve had enough, folks. We’re out there doing our jobs every day, putting our lives on the line for our families.”

Members of law enforcement were quick to distance themselves from him as if he was carrying a fresh load in his shorts. The raid didn’t find any drugs as expected. The botched raid killed two innocent homeowners, the lead investigator was charged with murder and sentenced to 60 years in prison. Joey lost his position a few months later. The District Attorney, Kim Ogg, lost her position. Charges involving the lead investigator were revisited with some being dropped.

Yesterday the HPOU did it again but not in a lethal way, but in a childish, immature, pathetic, a**holy way. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo had a dust up at the rodeo resulting in her being asked to return to her seat. Click2Houston has the story if you want to read. (She was NOT escorted out of the venue) I won’t defend Hidalgo actions because no one has reported on exactly what happened and quite frankly I am tired of her drama.

But like a 6 year old HPOU had to weigh in with an AI generated post on Facebook. To call it childish would be an insult to children. Hidalgo is on her way out, opting not to run again. There was absolutely no reason to soil themselves again. HPOU is quick to call for respect for the members of our law enforcement, and that we all can agree on, but respect goes both ways. Childish stupidity does not help restore confidence in our police.

For fuck sakes, grow the fuck up.

Yet Another Lawsuit Against La Marque City Councilman

March 10, 2026

It’s getting old.

Galveston County has filed another lawsuit against La Marque City Councilman Joseph Lowry for unpaid taxes. The case # 26-TX-0085 seeks over due taxes for 2024 of $11,474.03. He is also delinquent on his 2025 taxes for a total of $14,608.15. Recently Lowry paid for a large poster to harass a local activist but can’t seem to find money to pay his damn taxes like everyone else does.

This isn’t the first time he has been sued for back taxes. Last year a suit was finally dropped after he paid for his 2021, 2022, and 2023 taxes for over $22,000. He has had liens against his property by the City, State, and the IRS. In an interview with Ch 13 he claimed he owned no back taxes. which was not true. Things aren’t going well for Lowry. His Facebook pages have been removed. His Lousy News Network has been deactivated, and he isn’t a Texas Ranger. Womp Womp.

Raising Campaign Cash for Harris County Judge

March 10, 2026

NOTE: I am supporting Annise Parker for Harris County Judge.

There is a runoff in both parties for Harris County Judge. Orlando Sanchez and Warren Howell will be running for the Republican Party nomination. Annise Parker and Letitia Plummer are running for the Democratic Party nomination. All have submitted the required campaign finance reports. Plummer was late on filing the 30 day out and the 8 day out. Howell has not filed an 8 day out report.

Democrats:
Annise Parker has outraised her opponent without the need of loans. She has always been a strong fundraiser in the past. Plummer has historically had trouble with raising funds as well as filing on time. She has a $7,000 personal loan and only $407 cash on hand.

Republicans:
Orlando Sanchez has a large personal loan of $219,513 listed in his January report but it was not listed in his 8 day or 30 day out report. He has only $1,600 cash on hand. Howell is spending his own money on his race with a $272,650 personal loan. He raised only $15,000 for the race. Howell has not filed an 8 day out report.

Notes:
The republican nominee will not need to raise any money. Greg Abbott and various PACs will be pouring millions into this race with the hope of securing the Harris County Judge position. Unfortunately their hand picked candidate, Marty Lancton the Houston Fire Department Union President, came in 4th place in the primary. The billionaires in North Texas will most probably put millions into this race.

The Case Against Scott Bowen for State Representative

March 8, 2026

Just an FYI. I am a Democrat. I’m a board member of a local, very active Democratic club. I was a Delegate to the National Convention in 2024. I’ve been active since 1992.

And I can’t stand former CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen and for very good reasons. You can review the many reasons to keep Scott out of the Texas House at bayareahouston.net/ScottBowen or click on the tab above titled “Scott Bowen”. Share it with your friends. If by chance I have posted incorrect information, please make a comment so I can correct it.

BTW. In the past I have supported candidates regardless of party affiliation for non partisan races including CCISD, City of Houston, and local city governments.

Unlike his primary opponent, Bob Mitchell, Scott has little, if any, political skills which are needed to be a State Representative. His performance on the School Board was chaotic resulting in his defeat in 2025 by a large margin. He lacks the skills to work with others except those in his own party and even that relationship has had problems. He championed school vouchers and book banning. Even today he continues to recruit unqualified candidates for the school board. He has a very disturbing relationship with extremist organizations and billionaire donors.

Our district has elected a Republican to represent the area for almost 30 years and we have little to show for it. Home, auto, and health insurance are through the roof. Electricity rates continue to skyrocket. Vouchers are draining our schools. Taxes are out of control. If we want change we need to change our voting patterns.

There is much, much more about Scott and his inability to address these problems, so take a moment to read about Scott Bowen, take a stand, and do us all a favor. Vote for someone else.

Who is Running for CCISD School Board (And who shouldn’t be running)

March 5, 2026
Arturo Sanchez

Two seats are up in May.

Who is Running:
We have two CCISD School Board Trustees up for re-election in May, Arturo Sanchez, Position 3 and Jamieson Mackay, Position 2. Both have served the community very well. As my dad used to say when he saw me under the hood of the family car “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Needless to say I have my opinion which is worth as much as a bad cup of coffee at Denny’s. (Seriously Denny’s doesn’t have the best coffee.) All the candidates information including financial reports can be found at the CCISD Elections website.

Jamieson Mackay

Mackay is being challenged by Ernest A. Hallman II, Position 2. He has an impressive resume but other than that, I know little about him. Those in the know about education and CCISD might be able to address their preference in this race. Both are capable of doing the job. This race will be like races in the past where either candidate will be an asset to the district. That is the way it should be. Mackay’s last election was between two very good candidates and was above board. I see this being similar. It will be a hard choice.

Arturo Sanchez has served the district very well. You simply can’t get anyone better. Besides being well qualified and proven Arturo is just a great guy. If someone with similar qualifications were running against him it would be tough choice but this isn’t a tough choice.

Who Shouldn’t be Running:
Sanchez is being challenged by Gabriel F. Gonzales II, Position 3. He is a buddy of former Trustee Scott Bowen and was recruited by Scott. I’ve tried to ask Gonzales hard questions like “Why are you running against a very well qualified and proven Trustee?”, and “Are you still a teacher at the Charter School?”. I have since been blocked from his Facebook page. Gonzales said he is running because he is a teacher although he was recently hired by a right wing radio station as an “education” consultant. So I don’t know if he is teaching any longer. He is deeply embedded with the Republican Party as an elected precinct chair, which by the way, he lost his seat just a few days ago being crushed by his opponent 4-1. He claims he will not raise or spend more than $1001 so he does not have to file financial reports which means some other, outside of the district, PAC will be campaigning for him. He doesn’t have much experience with the district. Much like Scott he is not married and has no kids in school.

So let’s keep Arturo and watch a good race between two well qualified candidates!

Gabriel Gonzales back row, third from the right.

Bay Area Conservatives Reject the Conservative Candidate for State Representative

March 4, 2026

Well I had hoped the Conservatives in the Bay Area would have taken a stand. Instead they took a knee.

This is sad. Former CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen, after a decisive rejection for re-election, defeated the former President of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership for the Republican nomination for State Representative. Bowen has little if any political skills besides doing what he is told. Bob Mitchell had everything you needed in a State Representative, political experience, business connections, and politician connections. Not a bad set of qualifications for any candidate for office.

Mitchell claimed he is a “Trump” Conservative. Personally that isn’t a great selling point for this election cycle and it obviously didn’t work with the voters. Mitchell lost 75-25. Bowen on the other hand is no conservative and he offers little to the business community. He will be a yes man for Abbott if both are elected. The Bay Area has been represented by a Republican for over 30 years and yet we face huge issues. Our schools are being underfunded (again) especially with the voucher scheme. Home insurance rates are through the roof. Health insurance costs are sickening. Electricity bills are shocking. Bowen has no skills to address these issues and we will continue to pay for it. Literally.

Over the last 30 years, under republican rule, I cannot remember one single town hall meeting by an elected official. They have neglected us and we are paying for it. As I have said before, there is a better candidate running. On March 3 it was Bob Mitchell.

On March 4 it is Albert Wittliff.

Texas Rangers Invade La Marque

March 3, 2026

Finally.

March 2,2025 La Marque Texas. La Marque City Councilman Joseph Lowry is beaming with excitement with the Texas Rangers stepping in to investigate the criminal activity in La Marque. According to Lowry “I have been raising the issue about corruption, illegal activity, bribery, drug dealing, and thievery of catalytic converters for over 5 years. Finally the Rangers are here!”

According to a video posted by Lowry the Rangers made a special task force and has deputized Lowry to lead this effort. “I now have subpoena power and arrests will be made in 48 hours!”. Lowry stated this assignment via a video posted to Facebook. He has been working “hand in hand” with the Governor and non DEI agents of the Rangers. A spokesman for the Rangers responded with:

“The Rangers have a long history of investigating corruption in government entities. We commend Councilman Lowry’s relentless pursuit of justice but the Rangers have never issued a six pointed badge and none of us would be caught dead wearing a bolo tie with a badge as his video shows. We believe Lowry might have bought those from the Bob Bullock Museum bookstore.”

When asked about working hand in hand with Lowry Governor Greg Abbott responded with “Who the fuck is Lowry?”

Watch out for Fake Endorsement Brochures

March 2, 2026

Case in point the brochure funded by the Latino Labor Leadership Political Action Committee.

The LLL PAC was created in 2006 with a couple of thousands in donation. In 2025 donations of over $131,000 was received mainly from non Latinos such as $10,000 from the law firm Pusch and Wynn. In total since 2006 they raised over $290,000. Most of their donations came from non Latinos. $36,000 was donated by Amir Mireskandari a consultant for Kim Ogg and a fundraiser for her. Very few of the total donors are Latino.

This group raised enough money to publish a “Voters guide” which looks very similar to another voters guide published in 2022. Neither were from Harris County or the Harris County Democratic Party. From a previous post concerning dirty tricks in elections:

In the Democratic primary of 2020 and organization call Fort Bend United run by Shapnick Khan distributed an endorsement brochure titled “Harris County Democratic Voters Guide” (see below). Harris County had nothing to do with this voters guide, by law. Harris County Democratic Party had nothing to do with this, by bylaws. But it sure did look nice, and well written. Their endorsements included absolutely horrible candidates running against Commissioner Adrian Garcia and Judge Lina Hidalgo. Fort Bend United has since filed a campaign finance report showing a $0 COH. The Treasurer, Shapnick Khan also created a PAC called Texas Progressive Executive Council in 2021. He raised no money and it is now listed as “Inactive”

I have not seen the endorsements in this brochure. Do yourself a favor and throw it away.

La Marque Councilman Caught on a Recorded Phone Call

March 2, 2026

In Texas it is legal to record a phone call as long at least one person is aware the call is being recorded.

Councilman Lowry was aware the call between himself and Councilman Joe Compian was being recorded and now it is public. Why Lowry thought there was an need to record his conversation with Compian will not be known but it was probably to fish for evidence of criminal activity by the Mayor, Council Members, Staff, and employees of La Marque. He didn’t get anything. Again. As Lowry has stated over and over again he has been the Chicken Little of La Marque making baseless claims of bribery, illegal activity, etc etc for over 5 years and yet he has no evidence whatsoever. You can listen to the call here.

So he secretly recorded Compian probably with the intent to finally find evidence of unlawful actions but instead he found squat. You can listen to the conversation with Lowry egging on the conversation pressing Compian for information. Compian can be heard bad mouthing the Mayor and City Council to the joy of Lowry but gives him nothing concerning any illegal activity. It’s a mess and Compian might want to break his ties with Lowry once and for all because there is more to come. Including the following.

Yesterday Lowry posted yet another crazy video claiming he is now a badged law enforcement officer, working closely with the Governor and the non DEI members of the Texas Rangers. (He’s not) He claims he has subpoenaed power. (he doesn’t) He is flashing his badge that he bought from the Dollar Store and claiming he will be making arrests in the next 48 hours. (He isn’t). His video even has boo-ing and applause. (It’s fake) Lowry is like a door in an old barn. He is unhinged. You can watch that video here.

What a mess. The next council meeting ought to be interesting because there is a new Sheriff in town.

Doug Rogers for Congress Representing the Bay Area

February 27, 2026

Doug Rogers is on the ballot in the Democratic Primary along with Rhonda Hart, but Hart dropped out of the race due to technical issues with fundraising. This leaves Doug as the only choice for the March primary and he is a great choice for NASA, for our businesses, and for us. Doug is running to represent Congressional District 36 which includes 9 counties from the Louisiana border up to Friendswood.

You can review his priorities on his website https://dougrogersfortexas.com. Doug has the endorsement from the Houston Chronicle and the Democratic Clubs in the district including the Bay Area Democratic Movement. Take some time to review his website. The district has been without representation for over 10 years. Our current Congressman has NEVER conducted a town hall meeting. He has been one of the biggest suck up to the President. The District needs representation. We need someone who will not ignore his constituents and who will bring back honesty and integrity to Washington.

Do us a favor, thank Rhonda for running and go vote for Doug! A map of the district is below. Watch this short video about Doug:

La Marque Councilman’s Facebook and News Outlet Goes Dark. Again.

February 25, 2026

My bet is he is getting his ass sued.

La Marque City Councilman Chicken Little Lowry has had his Facebook page LowryNewsNetwork removed. His so-called independent news outlet, LowryNewsNetwork.press has also become inactive. . I’ve seen this before. My guess he is being sued by a number of possible individuals and has been told to preserve all content on his Lousy News Network. He hasn’t posted anything since early January and he hasn’t removed comments left by anonymous visitors such as this one below.

This is the second time Facebook has removed his site probably due to his constant harassment and baseless allegations of criminal activity by members of City Council and city employees. Or maybe it was his sexual harassment of city employees. Or maybe the empty threats of legal action against various individuals, including me. By the way, after last Monday’s council meeting Lowry issued another empty threat to City employees. Much like the threats he made to the Texas City employees who were no billed in their felony charges of impersonating Lowry. You can see the email he sent below.

As I have said before. Lowry is like a constipated two year old. He is full of shit and he ain’t gonna do shit.

8 Days Out Campaign Finance Report: Bob Mitchell (Lots of Outside Money)

February 24, 2026

Mitchell beat out Bowen on fundraising for his 8 day out report. Mitchell raised $102,869 of which only $2025 came from within the district. $86,194 came from in-kind contributions. The donation from the major donors are listed below.

Two PACs the Associated Republicans of Texas Campaign Fund and Houston Region Business Coalition donated the $86,194. $11,500 came from other various PACs including $4,000 from the Texas Sands PAC an organization spending millions to promote gambling in Texas. Other PACs include Conservative Citizens’ Club PAC funded in part by Senator Money Mayes Middleton, HillCo PAC, Houston Police Officers Union PAC, ILA Local 24 Political Action Fund, and PAC of the Texas Hospital Assn. $2025 or about 2% came from donations within the district.

Between Bowen and Mitchell the PACs outside of the district are dominating the Republican race for the Bay Area State Representative.

DonorContribution
Associated Republicans of Texas Campaign Fund$70,694
Houston Region Business Coalition$15,500
Texas Sands PAC$4,000
Conservative Citizens’ Club PAC$1,000

CCISD Opts out of Religious Study Period

February 24, 2026

Praise the Lord. The video of the discussion can be viewed here at 1:35:24.

According to Senate Bill 11 school boards are required to have a record vote on whether to adopt a policy to create a period of religious study by March 1. This bill was sponsored by our own Senator MAGA Mayes Middleton. This wasn’t about religion. It was about whether it was necessary, and it isn’t.

According to the invited speaker students have ample time to pray in line with the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. Besides the fact that students can already pray, and gather together, and create religious clubs, the bill requires, not only consent by the parents, they must waive their Constitutional rights to take action against the school board over the policy. (Watch the video for the exact wording.) This would put the district in a difficult position of limiting the rights of parents for a problem that doesn’t exist.

The entire video on the issue lasts just a few minutes with the Board voting unanimously to opt out of a religious period and continue providing students the freedom to pray. CCISD joins other school boards and Texas faith leaders across the state in opposition to the bill.
