Harris County Republic Party’s chief voter fraudster going to trial

January 10, 2025
From the Houston Chronicle

This is some serious stuff.

Steven Hotze, who led an effort to rid Harris County of illegal voting and harvesting of votes, is scheduled to go to trial this year on a number of serious charges concerning….wait for it….voter fraud. In 2020 a retired police officer, working for Hotze’s Liberty Center for God and County organization, stopped and held at gunpoint an air conditioning repairman claiming he had a truck full of harvested ballots. He didn’t. The officer was charged with a number of felonies including assault and false imprisonment.

Later Hotze was also charged with 4 felonies including engaging in organized crime, Case # 188121801010. The AC repairman has since filed a civil suit against Hotze and Liberty Center for God and County. You can read the entire complaint here. There is a damning recording between Hotze and a US Marshal, Lt Governor Dan Patrick’s brother asking for help for the arrest of the AC repairman.

Now Hotze is trying to delay his trial. His attorney, the former Chair of the Harris County Republic Party, Jared Woodfill, claims the charges are all part of a great conspiracy by the Democratic Party. From the Houston Chronicle:

“[Hotze] was only criminally prosecuted due to his political views and the fact that Liberty Center was investigating voter fraud in an election where the Democrats were successful,” Hotze’s lawyer, Jared Woodfill, wrote in the filing.

Just to be clear there has been no evidence of voter fraud discovered in Harris County or anywhere for that matter. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. All lawsuits stemming from the 2020 election claiming voter fraud were dismissed. A year and a half of investigation by the Texas Rangers and DA Kim Ogg resulted in a giant whomp whomp ending in an embarrassing press conference.

The AC repairman’s suit is scheduled for Feb 17. This ought to be interesting.

Trump to declare Jan 6 as Patriot Day

January 6, 2025

We should be so proud, boys.

Just wait for it. It is coming. After he pardons those who attacked the capitol including the leader of the Proud Boys who is serving 22 years for seditious conspiracy, Trump is going to declare Jan 6 as Patriot Day. This is how dictators behave. This is how they thrive and with the cowards in the Republic Party he will rein unchecked. Members of the Capitol Police lost their lives during the Jan 6 riots. Those who beat these officers with flags and sprayed them with irritants will soon be released, pardoned, and will probably be invited to the White House for a formal apology.

This is who you voted for. This is who you are. Go fuck yourself.

2025 The year of Luigi?

December 31, 2024

Violence is never an acceptable response. (except for Jan 6 according to the Republic Party)

What could possibly drive someone to killing? Many years ago during a hearing in Austin I was describing what homeowners experienced during their fight with their homebuilder concerning a major construction defect in their new home. I had experienced this frustration dealing with my own defect back in 1992. It’s not fun watching as someone with the power to make things right turn to their team of attorneys and ignore you. It’s not fun looking for help from the court system just to learn the builders are well protected by the laws that were originally designed to protect you. It can eat on you and I can see someone being driven to violence. (I had my own thoughts about doing something but it was not violent)

Well years later a man in Georgia after arguing with his homebuilder for over 6 months invited him back to his house and killed him. He served 10 years in prison. Luigi Mangione did the same thing taking the life of an insurance company CEO. He took matters into his own hands much like the Jan 6 rioters. According to trump the rioters were justified because they thought the election was rigged. (hum….who in the living fuck convinced them of that?) Maybe trump will pardon Luigi since he believed his violence also justified.

Maybe others will get the idea of taking advantage of our lax gun laws and solve their problems with their God given right to the 2nd Amendment. America is poised to bring back western style justice against those who harm them financially or physically. When the criminal and civil courts abandoned you and you are left with only memories of a loved one, or left with the job of taking care of a loved one for the rest of their life, or left in financial ruin and you have easy access to military style firearms what could possibly go wrong for those who are responsible? Top that off with elected officials on every level of government condoning violence as they did on Jan 6.

Maybe Luigi did us a favor, but in the wrong way. Maybe CEO’s might want to think twice about screwing people. Maybe homebuilders might want to fix the defects they created. Maybe law makers might want to create laws to protect us from gun violence instead of offering useless thoughts and fucking prayers.

In America those who take the law into their own hands usually end up being held accountable….except for trump’s Jan 6 rioters. So America, stand back and stand by.

Cliffnotes: Matt Gaetz investigation report

December 24, 2024

And to think trump was going to appoint him as the United States Attorney General. Based upon this report he would have been perfect for the job! This is who people wanted to lead our country.

I took one for the team and read the House Ethics report on former Congressman Matt Gaetz. It’s full of evidence concerning prostitution, rape, drugs, human trafficking, group sex, misuse of office resources, and obstruction of justice. Here is their conclusion:

Ouch. Here are my notes:

  • Gaetz was asked to volunteer his testimony in his defense. He refused.
  • Gaetz was subpoenaed to appear before the committee. He refused.
  • Many of the allegations stem from Goetz’s relationship with former county tax collector in Florida named Joel Greenberg, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2022
  • Evidence showed that Gaetz would split the cost of their sexual encounters, hotels, and drug use
  • Gaetz paid a woman $750 with a check marked as “tuition” after having group sex with her and others.
  • After a photo was released of Gaetz and a woman he arranged to meet with in Key West, Gaetz denied he knew who she was. Evidence later showed he paid her $650 the day after the photo was taken.
  • Greenberg introduced women to Gaetz via SeekingArrangement.com. One “older” women, who was 25 at the time, was paid to attend “events” ranging from $500-$1000 each.
  • Victim A was 17 at the time. Gaetz denied knowing she was 17. Evidence showed he paid her for sex.
  • Gaetz had group sex with her. She was a junior in high school.
  • The Committee did not receive any evidence indicating that Representative Gaetz was aware that Victim A was a minor when he had sex with her.
  • The group sex was at a home of a lobbyist, Mr. Dorworth, who claimed to the committee he was not at his house when the sex occurred. Phone records obtained by the committee proved otherwise.
  • Gaetz denied having sex for money and using drugs. The committee provided evidence to the contrary from 15 women.
  • Gaetz refused to answer specific questions about sex, drugs, and payment with Victim A, the 17 year old.
  • Gaetz asked his Chief of Staff to help one of the women he took to the Bahamas to obtain a passport which was usually handled by lower staff. she lived outside of his district. He paid her $1000 which she claimed was for the passport.
  • Gaetz whined about “weaponizing” the Ethics Committee and obstructed the investigation.
  • Some of the women feared retaliation for their participation in the investigation
  • The Committee did NOT find evidence of federal human trafficking laws
  • The Committee Found that Representative Gaetz Engaged in Commercial Sex
  • The Committee Found that Representative Gaetz Violated Florida’s Statutory Rape Law
  • The Committee Found Representative Gaetz Used Illegal Drugs
  • The Committee Found that Representative Gaetz Violated the House Gift Rule
  • The Committee Found Representative Gaetz Dispensed Special Privileges and Favors to Individuals with Whom He Had a Personal Relationship
  • The Committee Found Representative Gaetz Sought to Obstruct Its Investigation of His Conduct

HCDE drops censure of Trustee Dick for a $40,000 donation

December 19, 2024

This is pretty damn strange.

So last month the Harris County Department of Education Board unanimously approved to censure Trustee Eric Dick for lapses in ethical conduct including refusing to pay $40,000 in fines to the Texas Ethics Commission, refusing to honor a subpoena, providing false information to the TEC, providing false information under oath along other things stemming from an ethics complaint filed in 2019. You can read the detailed results of that investigation here.

A month later they reversed course and in lieu of censure Eric Dick promises to donate $40,000 to the educational foundation of Harris County Department of Education “to be used for the CASE debates program for future lawyers.”. Elizabeth Sander of the Houston Chronicle wrote a detailed article about Dick’s ethical problems with the Texas Ethics Commission, the Harris County and Galveston County courts, and for possibly illegally soliciting clients affected by the Maui wildfires. The proposed censure was based only on his conduct concerning the Texas Ethics Commission. According to the article:

“In lieu of a censure, the Harris County Department of Education accepted a $40,000 donation,” Cobarruvias said. “But he still owes the taxpayers and the Ethics Commission $40,000.”

I highly recommend that HCDE cash his check as soon as possible.

Harris County Dept of Education Trustee to be sanctioned

November 22, 2024

Eric Dick. Again. Prior to the meeting I ran into Dick in the bathroom. Gross.

The Harris County Department of Education voted unanimously to sanction Trustee Dick after a grievance hearing yesterday. I filed the grievance. From the Houston Chronicle:

“Trustees are elected officials. Taxpayers should expect them to do some basic things, tell the truth, follow the laws of the state, honor subpoenas issued by judges, pay your fines assessed by the state,” Cobarruvias said at Wednesday’s hearing. “What happens if you and I don’t pay our parking tickets? You know, it’s pretty clear. But the worst part about all this is that he’s thumbing his nose at the law.”

Eric Dick has owned the Texas Ethics Commission $30,000 since March of 2022. He owes $10,000 for another ethics complaint that he settled back in 2023. He agreed to pay this fine but has yet to pay it. The Texas AG’s office has demanded payment and yet he has refused. In the article he claims he is challenging the TEC’s fines but I haven’t seen any indication that this is nothing more than bullshit.

In 2022 the TEC had 387 complaints filed. Only 3 went to a formal hearing. One was for Dick and another was for his buddy Philip Bryant who was also involved in the original complaint filed against Dick. Like the formal hearing Dick failed to show up at the HCDE hearing to defend himself.

This new Republic Party doesn’t give a crap about honor, dignity, truth, or abiding by the laws of our State. At least the HCDE did what they could legally do and sanctioned Dick. You can read the long, but interesting, final disposition by the TEC here.

Experienced Leadership Abandoning Sheriff Elect Jimmy “Full of S***” Fullen.

November 18, 2024

It’s almost funny. Almost.

Kudos to Scott McLendon of the Galveston Daily News for his article concerning the mass exodus of deputies of the Sheriff’s office. From the GDN:

“A retirement exodus of long-time Galveston County Sheriff’s Office deputies that began when an outsider candidate won the Republican primary in March had by Friday reached 19 people who represent about 639 years of experience, Sheriff Henry Trochesset said.” “I don’t blame them. The last thing we need is someone in charge of enforcing the law that is breaking the law.”

Ok. That last part I made up but it is on everyone’s mind except for those who voted for Fullen. Breaking or ignoring the law has become a trademark of the New Republic Party. Republic voters don’t give a shit about someone who falsified government documents (unless their name is Hunter Biden). They don’t care about Fullen having his law license revoked due to falsifying documents. After all they voted for returning a bankrupt bitch to League City Council. They returned an impeached Attorney General back to office. And they returned a twice impeached, convicted felon, who has over 50 felony indictments, including stealing classified documents, looming over his head to lead the most powerful and most pitiful country in the world.

So who really cares about “law and order” or conservative values, or decency, duty, honor, country or any of that shit? Voters don’t but at least 19 deputies do and they are leaving the office before Jimmy Full of Shit Fullen takes office.

LOL. I made some funnies. Bankrupt Bitch. Jimmy Full of Shit Fullen.

Millionaires lose in Friendswood ISD elections

November 12, 2024
John Scott FISD Candidate

$50,000 down the drain. Again.

Our Senator, “Money” Mayes Middleton, and another millionaire out of Dallas, donated $50,000 to FISD candidate John Scott. He lost. As noted before, the district has only 6000 students in 6 schools. Why anyone would need $50,000 to run in such a small district is beyond me, but this is Texas where money rules.

What is surprising is that Friendswood is a blood shot red MAGAt city. They probably voted for trump, three times, and yet the $50,000 didn’t sway them from returning the incumbents back to office. That is odd. Maybe the trump voters found a bit of morality and voted against the nasty attack ads. Who knows?

It’s definitely an interesting situation one that CCISD trustees should be looking at very closely. If they align CCISD elections with the November elections they will be inviting unlimited money from every white wing millionaires and billionaires in the country with the sole purpose of taking over school districts. Those running for the right reasons will never get elected and would never be able to compete.

Maybe the Friendswood election is a freak occurrence.

League City Elections. Money down the drain.

November 10, 2024

Ouch. That wasn’t expected.

League City voters are interesting. They returned Tom Crews to City Council squeaking by his well funded opponent, Scott Higginbotham, by just a few hundred votes. Tom is a well know conservative. Unlike his opponent, he isn’t a MAGAt conservative much like Justin Hicks. Voters also returned Hicks to City Council by a large margin. All of that is strange. It was a good win for Crews and for the City.

Crew’s opponent spent $21,500 of his own money plus an additional amount of money from Mayor Nick Long’s Political Action Committee. Long lost on this race. His PAC did not contribute to Justin Hicks. Justin ran on his credentials of being a MAGAt conservative and decorated Iraq war veteran. The voters gave Hicks a pass on his inability to be honest about his campaign finance reports, hold a job, pay his bills, or his filing for bankruptcy. Someone with this type of record should never get near an elected office. Yet the same voters who put Hicks back in office also re-elected a true conservative, Tom Crews. They voted from one extreme to common decency.

League City Council will remain a white, male, MAGAt council with the exception of a couple of true conservatives. It will be interesting to watch Long try to bury the hatchet with those he opposed. I wonder what Council will do this next year? Maybe go after the businesses that hire illegal aliens?

Ethics complaints filed with the Texas Ethics Commission are still pending against Hicks and Higginbotham Election results can be found here.

Election 2024. The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

November 8, 2024

The Ugly has raised its head in America. Again. Adolph would be so proud. This is who we are:

Democrats across the country did it again by “misunderestimating” the majority of American voters. We provided plans for economical opportunities, strengthening our relationships with our Allies , a brighter, hopeful future, yada-yada, whatever, whatever, go fuck yourself. We spoke to the American voters as if they were interested in listening, reading, or thinking, as if they possessed some sort of intelligence when it came to politics, the economy, international affairs and morality. They weren’t interested.

Adolph voters wanted to hear lies. They wanted to be stroked with racist, sexists, bigoted, hateful lies about Americans except for the white folks. They wanted to hear immoral comments about Haitans, Puerto Ricans, Asians, Gays, Latinos, Muslims, our military, and other non-whites. They not only tolerated it, they wanted it, they demanded it. And Adolph gave it to them for a decade. He gave his follows the permission to hate and they lapped it up like a sick dog.

We “misunderstimated” their lack of a moral compass. They tolerated and laughed at mocking the disabled, referring to Native Americans as “Pocohantas”, instigating riots, killing of police, advocating for violence, attacking the Gay community, ignoring the law, ignoring science, and everything we would slap the shit out of our kids for doing. This is who they are. Adolph brought them out of the closet.

And they are our neighbors. They will expect you to continue to organize a Super Bowl party in your driveway and host the yearly National Night Out as if nothing happened. As if nothing will happen to your gay family members, or to your Mexican American children.

We have yet another four years of lies, misinformation, racist comments and immoral behavior by the President of the United States. Democrats thought American were tired of this. They thought Americans wanted to get back to normal, debate policies, and move the country forward.

They weren’t. This is who we are. So go fuck yourself.

Amending Campaign Finance Reports: Scott Higginbotham

November 1, 2024

Once again this is strange but the right thing to do.

Scott Higginbotham filed a very strange campaign finance report. It didn’t make cents. Literally. As was posted yesterday “In his second report he loaned his campaign another $16,500 leaving an outstanding loan balance of $21,500. He didn’t document over $11,000 in donations. He claims to have spent over $24,000 but documented only about $4000.”

His amended report blamed his treasurer, his wife, for the mistake. It still does not address the $5000 he gave to Nick Long’s PAC and the outstanding loan balance should be &21,500 not $16,500. Scott must be well off to be able to spend $21,500 of his own money for his campaign. Nothing wrong with that. Personally I think it should be against the law for self financing a campaign but this is Texas. Money rules.

League City ought to require all candidates to take a class on how to file a campaign finance report. Justin Hicks could teach it.

Harris County District Attorney should be investigated

October 29, 2024

This should make every fiscal conservative in Harris County pretty pissed off.

$700,000 down the drain. After almost 2 years of investigating the problems with ballots during the 2022 elections Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg held a press conference to announce an indictment of one individual for something that had nothing to do with the ballot issue. The press conference just needed a Womp Womp played in the background. But according to the Houston Chronicle this wasn’t the big story:

But according to interviews with election workers and documents related to the investigation, Ogg’s office and the Texas Rangers – who assisted in the probe – had likely known there was no election tampering for at least a year before Ogg informed the public.

There were over 20 lawsuits filed against Democratic Judges who beat their republican challengers instigated in part by Mattress MAGAt Mac. These Judges had to raise money for their defense. By law could not receive pro bono help from attorneys. They could not be represented by the County Attorney. They had to take time to address the allegations, something they had nothing to do with. In the end all the suits were dismissed. The Secretary of State issued a very detailed report after their investigation stating there was no evidence of voter suppression. None. Zero. Zip. In face the word “Fraud” doesn’t even show up int he 147 page report. The republicans just flat out lost. You can read the Cliff Notes about the report here. Here is a summary:

Texas Secretary of State, Jane Nelson, a Republican issued a 147 page report on the audit of the 2022 election in Harris County. In short the Republican said “The allegations of election fraud in the 2022 Harris County election are total bullshit.”.

Ok. That was not the exact comment but you get the idea. Kim Ogg sat on this information for a year while the County was needlessly spending resources and money. This entire situation should have consequences. The republicans who brought the baseless suits should pay for all the legal fees. Their attorneys should be sanctioned. Mattress MAGAt Mac should be fined.

And Kim Ogg should be investigated as she is being ushered out of the office.

League City elections. It is getting ugly. And stupid.

October 25, 2024

League City is the gift that keeps on giving.

League City Mayor, Nick Long, has used his political action committee to stoop to new lows. It’s pretty ugly when the leader of League City is using his money to attack a sitting Council Member. Usually Mayors and other members will sit out the race in order to preserve unity and to be able to work together to move forward. Not Nick. Nick has put out misleading signs against his opponent, siting Council Member Tom Crews. He has now sent out a nasty text message. Again doing what he does best. Lying. Crews challenger has paid for and endorsed this ugliness. That is just plain ugly.

And then there is Justin “Morally Bankrupt” Hicks who can’t seem to follow the laws of the Texas Ethics Commission and who has filed for bankruptcy. This is just plain stupid. There is a robocall going around claiming Hicks is running for “Deputy Mayor”. There is no elected position of Deputy Mayor, or Assistant to the Mayor, or Vice Mayor, or Second Place Mayor, or Nick Long’s whiny bitch. It is against the laws of the Texas Ethics Commission to misrepresent the office you are running for. Studies have shown that robocalls are worthless just like Hicks, worth less. And it is just plain stupid.

With Hicks and Long the City of League City will continue to be in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Ethics Investigations: Another Galveston County Republican Under Investigation

October 23, 2024

What is it with Galveston County republicans running for office?

I do not know Scott Higginbotham but much like Justin Hicks he is real proud of calling himself a “Conservative” and much like Hicks he needs to learn how to follow the law. It’s not hard to do especially when filing official government documents like campaign finance reports. It really is easy. If you spend money, document the date, amount, who you paid, and what it was for. If someone donates something other than money, like the use of a facility for a fundraiser, also document it as an in-kind donation. If someone gives you anything of value, document it. And if your treasurer and wife loans you $12,000 document it and deposit the money into your campaign account.

The Ethics Commission is investigating Mayor Pro Tem Justin Hicks and Sheriff candidate Jimmy Fullen for not documenting loans to their campaigns. They are now investigating Higginbotham for not reporting an in-kind contribution from Mayor Nick Long’s PAC, the Bay Area Conservatives PAC. As noted before Higginbotham donated $5000 to Nick’s PAC but didn’t report it. In return Long gave $5000 to Parabellum Media LLC in support of Higginbotham. He didn’t report that either. This is a strange way of doing business and it is not legal.

The TEC provides a plethora of instructional videos on how to file a campaign finance report. Galveston County Republicans should take a few minutes and watch them.

Justin Hicks: He’s above the law.

October 19, 2024

You have to wonder if Justin Hicks is politically stupid or if he thinks he is above the law. Neither is a conservative value. From the Texas Ethics Commission (TEC)

Hick’s campaign treasurer and manager needs training on the laws governing campaigns in Texas. His $12,000 campaign loan from his treasurer (his wife) was omitted from his campaign report. He later amended his report after his treasurer (his wife) remembered she had donated $12,000 to his campaign. The Texas Ethics Commission is investigating this.

Now Hicks might be a target for yet more ethics violations. First Hicks used what looks like his official League City photo for his campaign mailers. The TEC wrote an opinion on using government resources for mailers. This includes printing, photos, or anything that public money was used for. You can compare the two pics from League City and his mailers.

And second. Justin is NOT running for Mayor Pro Tem. In fact there is not an elected position called “Mayor Pro Tem”. Materials provided by a campaign cannot use any other position other than the one running for. The TEC provides detailed guidelines for campaign managers and candidates. For instance if you are not the incumbent you must put FOR in specific height and width so voters know you are running FOR the position and you are not an incumbent running for re-election. It might be a nit but both of these complaints will be accepted by the TEC.

The TEC could assess a fine per mailer. It can be pretty pricey. Hicks might need another loan.

LTTE: Jimmy Fullen and Justin Hicks should follow the law

October 17, 2024

Dear Bay Area Houston,

League City council member, Justin Hicks and candidate for Sheriff Jimmy Fullen have a lot in common. Both are being investigated for campaign law violations concerning loans to their campaigns. Both have filed amended reports and both have added more controversy to their filings.

Hicks failed to identify who loaned his campaign $12,000. His amended report now shows the loan was provided by his treasurer. His treasurer is his wife who forgot to list it on the handwritten report. The source of the loan is still a mystery. Since he has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, he and his wife have 3 suits for unpaid credit card debt, and a suit for HOA fees.

Fullen correctly reported a personal loan of $100,000 to his campaign but never disclosed when it was paid off. It just disappeared from a subsequent report. In his amended report he stated the reason to amend as “personal loan from self was removed on form e”. In other words he never really loaned his campaign any money. It’s hard to believe his treasurer hand wrote in a $100,000 loan without getting the OK by Fullen. Falsifying a government document is a felony. Ask Hunter Biden.
If Hicks and Fullen want to be in the Republican law and order club they might want to get their personal finances in order and start following the law.

Raising Campaign Cash: League City Mayor Nick Long’s PAC

October 11, 2024

This is kinda strange on a number of points.

League City Mayor Nick Long has a newly created political action committee, Bay Area Conservatives Political Action Committee. His wife, Kari Long, is the treasurer. This GPAC is supporting Hank Dugie County for Commissioner and Scott Higginbotham for League City Council. Missing from this list of supported candidates is Justin Hicks, Nick Long’s buddy. Strange.

In the latest report GPAC raised $6500 from 3 individuals. $5000 from Higginbotham, $1000 from Carl Joiner, and $500 from Senator Mayes Middleton. $4500 of this was given to the Hank Dugie campaign. Another $5000 was given to Parabellum Media LLC in support of Higginbotham. Why didn’t Higginbotham just give $5000 to Parabellum Media LLC from his own campaign account and not filter it through a 3rd party? He also didn’t report the $5000 donation on his campaign finance report. That is strange also.

In total the GPAC has raised about $23,000, $7500 coming from Jimmy Fullen, candidate for Sheriff, and $2500 from Hank Dugie which was later returned with an additional $2000 to his campaign. Again strange. Kari and Nick Long donated about $4000.

Strange. Poor Justin. Snubbed again.

Galveston Republicans rejects Justin Hick’s “conservative” values.

October 9, 2024

Ouch. That must hurt.

Even the Galveston Republicans have had enough of Justin Hick’s “conservative” values. Ever since being elected Justin has been the Corporal Chaos of League City Council. He constantly claims to be a “conservative” which made enough real conservatives cringe during an endorsement meeting. They refused to endorse Hicks. That had to hurt.

Hick’s Bankruptcy
Hicks is some kind of perverted form of conservative . He is fiscally irresponsible filing bankruptcy in December. He and his wife have 3 suits concerning credit card debt. (22-DC01-0796 for $4053.05, 22-DC01-0776 $1878.15, and 23-DC01-0447 $1722.88) His bankruptcy filings shows he owed South Shore Harbour HOA fees of $1749.24. He has claimed, on a number of occasions, his bankruptcy was caused by medical issues yet there are no filings with the court supporting this. His filings make it clear he was unemployed for a long period of time. Yet with all of this going on he somehow found $15,000 to fund his campaign. It doesn’t make conservative cents.

Hick’s Voting Record
Hicks is a veteran. (Thank you for your service) You would think a conservative veteran would have been first in line to vote his conservative values on every election. Voting records in the county show otherwise. He only voted in 2020. As we used to say in the Army: WTF Over? Judges are allowed to hide their voting records but I have never heard these privileges applied to Council Members. Maybe he would like to comment so I can correct this?

Ethics Investigation
Hicks has been playing games hiding his campaign cash prompting an investigation by the Texas Ethics Commission. This isn’t a conservative value. Neither is leading the book banning charge. Or raising nonexistent racist issues with the Chief of Police. Or firing librarians.

Hopefully the real conservatives of League City will also reject Hicks, thrown him out of office, so he can spend more time with his financial advisor.

Raising Campaign Cash: Jimmy Fullen

October 8, 2024

Jimmy Fullen has a lot in common with Justin Hicks. Both are being investigated by the Texas Ethics Commission. Both have amended their campaign reports. And both have added more controversy to their campaigns. You can read the details here and here.

As noted previously Fullen has removed his $100,000 loan from this campaign reports as if it never happened, probably because it really never happened. He padded his account making it look like he raised a shit load of money. He actually didn’t. In his latest report he has a loan balance of only $24,052 which came from Mark Henry. The $100,000 loan he claimed to have given himself magically disappeared.

He raised $47,400 with $10,000 coming from someone in College Station. He received from free advertising from Michael Barrow The Blues for $15,400. He spent $14,658 and has a Cash on Hand balance of $35,832.

Fullen’s ethics complaint is pending. Like the investigation with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement it will not be resolved prior to the election. Fullen knows the law and he broke it.

Again.

Raising Campaign Cash: Justin Hicks

October 8, 2024

The 30 day out campaign finance reports are out.

Hicks should fire his treasurer. His treasurer is his wife and she is clearly in need of additional training. Let’s review his report. Hicks raised $14,625. Of this $12,500 came from 3 donors. $5000 from Mike Scully, $4000 from Andy Mann, and $3500 from Hicks himself. After claiming bankruptcy Hicks has been able to put $15,500 of his own money into his campaign. Go figure.

He also spent $9,224.67 including $541.25 to pay off his wife’s loan to his campaign which doesn’t make cents. $541.25 is the very same amount he paid to buy signs. What I believe is that the $12,000 loan was never an actual loan. It wasn’t a check deposited into an account, or an electronic draft. It was nothing more than a promise, an allocation. It looks like he just padded his account with a promise to loan himself. This was probably a virtual loan something the Ethics Commission should be looking at. Lucky for Hicks the Ethics Commission will probably not dig deep enough to realize this deception unless someone files a more detailed complaint.

You can review his campaign report on the League City website.
