Hiding Campaign Donations: League City Mayor Nick Long

February 3, 2024

At first there is nothing unusual about Nick Long’s latest campaign finance report.

But…there are a couple of issues with his contributions and donations. In the last reporting period ending Dec 31, 2023 Long raised $28,450 of which $300 came from one donor in League City. All the rest came from PACs outside of the city as well as one donation from Kansas. It makes one wonder “Who’s your daddy?”. Who are you representing?

He has spent $13,817 over a 6 month period. Long is not on the ballot. He isn’t running for reelection yet he spent nearly half of his donations on “consulting expense” and “advertising expense” including $2432.10 to Spectrum Marketing Companies under “Advertising Expense”. What Long failed to note was that this expenditure was to support his buddy Courtney Chadwell who is running for City Council. Chadwell reported this expenditure on his report. It was the only donation he received.

One thing is for sure. The Texas Ethics Commission can fine the living hell out of individuals for hiding their contributions to candidates or misrepresenting their expenditures. Case in point, Eric Dick. The TEC had the authority to fine Dick over $400,000 for his mailers he did not report. They eventually fined him $30,000.

You have to wonder what Long is spending his out of city donor’s money on. I would bet he is funding Chadwell’s campaign. At least he isn’t taking money from Defend Texas Liberty.

Greg Abbott bringing the hate to the Bay in League City

February 1, 2024

If you are interested in a free lunch and the opportunity to see Greg Abbott face to face here is your chance. You can expect every elected MAGAt in the area to be there stepping up to kiss Abbott’s hateful ass including Mayor Nick Long and Captain Chaos Justin Hicks. RSVP for the event by sending an email to: RSVP@drgregbonnen.com. This is going to be quite a sausage fest.

“Anti Government” group enters League City elections

January 9, 2024

UPDATE: Candidate Chris Dodson has also refused to attend.

They’re not doing very well.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has added the True Texas Project to their list of extremist organizations categorized as a general anti-government organization. The local group has attempted to enter the League City elections by holding a forum for the candidates. Unfortunately only one, the book burner an Nick Long’s boy, Courtney Chadwell, has accepted the invitation. Here is the line up:

I don’t think Ange or Dodson knows who the TTP is or who Joshua is. Joshua is leading the book banning charge in League City roaming the kids section of the library searching for books that say pee-pee or wee-wee. His group has had speakers advocating for Texas to secede from the United States (a really stupid and illegal idea). His group was banned from using the facilities by Buzz Aldrin’s Presbyterian church in Webster for its extreme views which the church did not condone. From the Chronicle:

The group’s lineup of featured speakers indicates its alignment with radical white supremacist and anti-LGBTQ policies. Kelly Neidert, founder and leader of the anti-LGBTQ organization Protect Texas Kids, said she’s slated to be a featured speaker at TTP’s upcoming events

They also have interfaced with Chris Russo, leader of a local anti-immigrant PAC, outed by The Texas Tribune as meeting with a known white supremacist, Nick Fuentes. They supported Bryan Slaton an anti LGBTQ State Representative who was removed from the Texas House for providing alcohol to a minor and they having sex with her.

I’ll make sure Ange and Dodson knows who they are meeting with. Courtney knows who they are. We should know who he is.

Raising Campaign Cash: League City Special Election

Will the League City SausageFest continue?

January 4, 2024

A little diversity is alway good.

League City is having a special election to fill a vacated seat on Council. This election is on January 13 and early voting has already begun. Over the last few years the council has been a male only country club. Not that this is always bad. There are some very good council members and then there is Captain Chaos, Justin Hicks, and his side kick, Mayor Nick Long. Male. White. Extremists. It’s not a good look. They seem to enjoy chaos.

I have never believed in voting for a person because they are male, female, white, Hispanic, etc, etc. Each person must be able to do the job. Each should be qualified. Pick the best to do the job, one that would lead without chaos. According to the League City website there are 5 candidates running:

The Galveston County Daily News has a good write up on the candidates. I thought the comments about bringing civility back to council is right on. To that Courtney Chadwell is supported by Nick Long and Captain Chaos. He is spending his own money to win this race and would continue the sausageFest on council and would probably contribute to the chaos. That can’t be good for the city.

Good luck League City! The election is Jan 13.

League City continues The Purge. Fires librarian.

December 15, 2023

UPDATE AND CORRECTION: city Coucil did NOT vote to terminate the services of the librarian. Her superiors did. More later.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Last week League City Council fired the City Attorney. This week after the Helen Hall Library received the 2022 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award they fired the librarian. This award was announced on the League City website. According to City Council:

Of the 552 public libraries in Texas, only 73 received this award in 2022. With this distinction, Helen Hall Library is recognized by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association as being in the top 15% of all public libraries in Texas.

I can only assume Captain Chaos, City Councilman Justin Hicks, has something to do with this as he did with firing of the City Attorney. Hicks, who is trying to escape the League City Purge has his house up for sale for the last 148 days (according to Zillow) Hicks wasn’t happy with the advice given by the City Attorney concerning Hicks book Purge. I would bet the firing of the City Librarian is for the same reason.

As with the firing of the City Attorney the vote to fire the Librarian was held with a vacant seat. The city has an election coming up in January for a vacated seat. One of the candidates is a MAGAt republican and is probably supported by Mayor Long and Hicks. Winning this seat will give them the majority needed to continue The Purge.

Those who do not bend the knee shall be targeted.

League City fires City Attorney

November 29, 2023

The fallout from the League City book ban continues.

League City Attorney Nghiem Dan is out and the Deputy Michelle Villarreal is in. The vote was 4-3 in a clearly divided city council. From the video it looks like Captain Snowflake, Justin Hicks, seconded the motion and voted in favor. How surprising.

Mayor Nick Long had a rambling rant prior to the vote acknowledging the book ban was the cause of the issue being brought forward. As two council members said this is going to cost the city. I wonder if there is a cause for a lawsuit and if so who would file it.

There is an open seat on council with 5 individuals signing up. Maybe this vote should have been tabled until this seat was filled. Probably the council members voting yes knew this motion would not pass with a new member on board. As one council member said this vote should have been put off until the council seat was filled.

Texas, Bored of Education, opposes depiction of climate change

November 16, 2023

LOL. Scott Bowen again.

The Texas State Board of Education including Julie Pickren, from Pearland, has a problem with the depiction of climate change and evolution in science books. Pickren’s claim to fame was being at the Jan 6 insurrection. As I said in a previous post:

Pickren is being funded mainly by two Republican Oligarchs, State Representative Money Mayes Middleton and failed congressional candidate Kathaleen Wall. According to Pickren’s latest campaign finance report she raised $36,000 with $20,000 coming from Wall and $5000 from Money Mayes. Pickren also has some far right extremist PACs supporting her run for school board.

Pictured above is Captain Snowflake, Justin Hicks, League City Mayor Nick Long, CCISD Trustee Scott Bowen, and Congressman Randy Weber. She is only endorsed by the best people. According to the Houston Chronicle:

The Republican-led State Board of Education preliminarily rejected several new science textbooks on Tuesday over their presentation of climate change and evolution, a sign the books may be watered down before a final vote later this week.

Publishers were allowed until Wednesday to make changes that address criticism from board members, such as altering the depiction of the oil and gas industry.

Pickren and her buddies are there to protect the oil and gas industry’s profit margins, even after posting record breaking profits. They also want creationist theories (ie the Bible) to be taught as an alternative to evolution and let the students decide which is more scientifically correct. Maybe they should consider teaching family values by Bryan Slaton.

Pickren since raised $115,000 for her race. $85,000 came from just 6 individuals including $40,000 from Richard Weekley, $20,000 from Kathaleen Wall, and $5000 from local Senator Money Mayes Middleton. Here are her top donors:

League City Ethics Committee clears Captain Snowflake

October 25, 2023

OMG. It’s on video.

I don’t like Captain Snowflake, League City Council Member Justin Hicks for many reasons. I know veterans who had bullets shot at them who don’t walk around with a military chip on their soldier. They don’t consider themselves special even though they are. Hicks is an extremist MAGAt Republican. Like most MAGAts he probably can’t even spell Constitution much less truly understand it. He championed the unnecessary book ban in League City targeting the Gay community. He has been involved in racial controversies concerning the Police Chief and threats to city employees. He invited an anti-gay writer to read to children at the Public Library. He butted into the CCISD lawsuit brought about by a losing candidate. He ran for City Council as a “Conservative” but he isn’t conservative. He is a republican. In today’s day you can’t be both.

Well last night Captain Snowflake was on video whining about an ethics complaint filed against him. You can watch the entire meeting here. It’s only 15 minutes long. Start at 1:18 to watch Hicks whine to the committee followed by Council Member Tom Crews to address the same issue. The Committee then discussed the ethics complaint and votes to dismiss it. Committee Member Rachel McAdams at 15:09 ends the meeting with a comment. She addresses the issue eloquently.

Hicks stated he takes criticism “like a champ” yet attempts to interrupt McAdams comments from the audience. A champ doesn’t do that. I’m not quite sure what the complaint was about but there were comments made by Hicks about someone digging up his personal information. He might have been talking about the website JustinHicksTx.com which was reporting on Hicks’ time on Council. That website has since been taken down. I reviewed that site and thought it was just full of public information including his house being up for sale by Zillow. Not sure why the owners would take the site down but I would bet Hicks had something to do with it.

On Facebook Hicks says he will be announcing a life changing personal victory. Maybe his house has finally sold, he has accepted a job in New Jersey, and will be resigning from City Council. It would be a win-win for everyone.

I wish him luck. League City voters, do better next time.

WTF is wrong with you? Veterans for Trump

July 6, 2023

Someone needs to ask the question. We all deserve answers.

What the fuck is wrong with military veterans who still support Trump? Case in point, Captain Chaos of League City Council, Justin Hicks.

Veterans are all about Duty, Honor, Country like the motto of West Point Academy. They say they are against those who violate their duty to the Constitution, who dishonor their position of authority, and turn on their country and countrymen. And yet we have Veterans like Justin Hicks, an elected official, actually considering voting for Trump. Again.

WTF? Over? This is beyond FUBAR. Didn’t these Veterans yell and scream about EMAILS back in 2016 and yet are still considering voting for a twice impeached, twice indicted, former president who has admitted to taking top secret documents, hiding them from the FBI, and lying about them? These documents contain some of the most protected military information that could endanger the lives of our troops and CIA agents if leaked to other nations. And yet some Veterans are still considering returning him to office?

Seriously. What the living fuck is wrong with you? It’s bad enough he soiled the office by fucking a porn star, paying her off, lying about it, and getting indicted for it. It’s bad enough he has mocked and turned on his cabinet members, including military generals, calling them losers. It’s bad enough he is a racist and an incredibly horrible human being. It’s bad enough he not only started a riot on our Capitol but he watched it on TV for 3 hours as members of law enforcement were being attacked and killed. It’s bad enough he is a habitual liar. But he stole top secret documents and admitted to it and has been indicted for it! He is truly a walking Charlie Foxtrot.

What’s the breaking point for these Veterans? What the living fuck are they waiting for? Are you waiting to learn he stole the documents and sold access to them to other countries, then make excuses to justify continuing to kiss his ass?

Hick’s love for this human garbage was documented on his Facebook page. It is sickening as are the comments.

God Bless the Veterans who have divorced themselves from this rotten human being.
