After flooding Harris County with guns, republicans complain about….gun violence

The Harris County Republican Party should be sued by the Society of Hypocrites in Texas (SHIT) for defecation of character.

This is all the republicans have left. They are truly nothing but a bunch of lying, hypocritical, racist, gun toting, bible thumping, pathetic, losers. Case in point. Yesterday the Harris County Republican Party along with the State’s Comptroller, after flooding the state with guns, allowing 18 year olds to buy assault weapons, high capacity clips, armor piercing bullets, and silencers, they are now blaming the Democrats for…wait for it… rising crime and defunding law enforcement. According to the Houston Chronicle:

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this week accused Harris County commissioners of defunding local constables and threatened to prevent the county from implementing its proposed 2023 budget if the county does not reverse course.

The issue is about how Constables can roll unused funds back into their budgets with no questions asked. It’s a policy that is not practiced in any government entity in Texas. In fact:

“This practice was unique to Harris County and is not the practice of other local governments,” he said. “Under the current policy, departments, including the Constable’s Offices, can request the use of unspent funds on vehicles, equipment, and other one-time expenses. The County has continued to support these investments.”

So to be clear, republicans are just fucking losers.

Texas Senator caught sending form letters to mass shooting victims families

There is only one thing worse than a Texas sized, tuck tail and run, sniveling coward of a weasel. Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

I hope the Houston Astros win the World Series this year so I will have the opportunity to boo the living shit out of Cruz when he jumps on the Astros bandwagon riding on top of a firetruck during the parade. As I have said in the past, if Ted Cruz was at the Alamo he would have been the first to have jumped across the line in the sand and run away leaving his own people to die just like he did during the 2021 Texas Freeze Out. He is a Texas sized coward. He is a filthy human being, even worse than trump.

As an example of what a filthy piece of garbage he is, here is a letter he wrote to the family of a child who was killed in a mass shooting. In the letter he says “XXXX was an engaging young woman who brightened any room with her love and compassion.” It’s as if Ted knew who she was. He continues “Her smile and creative spirit have made an impact that will be remembered…” as if he personally witnessed her creative spirit.

In reality Cruz had never met her. He knew nothing about her. Instead of doing something to honor the child by calling for legislation to prevent another mass shootings he had the balls to send her family a fuckin form letter and a goddamn flag. Cruz shouldn’t be a Senator or a human being.

The Houston Astros strike out on the Uvalde massacre

Let’s give credit to the Houston Astros for bussing in 500 members of the Uvalde community for a “Uvalde Strong” baseball game. It was a nice gesture to the grieving community.

I’m probably a minority on this but the Astros could have, and should have done more. The cost of their Uvalde Strong event is a drop in the bucket to the Astros organization. They could do this event after every mass shooting in the United States and still be profitable but it’s not about the money.

The Astros could have used the opportunity to tell the Uvalde community, and all communities across the state that they will do whatever they can to prevent spending another nickel on consoling those affected by gun violence. They could do more than a moment of silence. They could do more than hitting a homerun for a fan.

They could demand action from Greg Abbott and the NRA party. They could hold a moment of silence for 21 minutes before each game to honor those who were killed in Uvalde. Let the fans and the entire Astros organization stand for a full 21 minutes for every single goddamn game until Greg Abbott calls a special session to address gun violence. They could stop donating to candidates that refuse to address the issue. They could use their voice to demand action instead of their wallets to feel good about themselves. They could make a strong stand and truly honor those whose lives have been lost and those whose lives have been changed forever.

Thanks for the baseball game, Houston, but you wiffed on this one.

Texas Republicans issue threats to election workers…in red districts

It’s all fun and games to Greg Abbott until someone gets hurt.

According to KXAN all the election workers in Gillespie County, a county that is gunshot, bleeding red, have resigned due to threats and stalking by Republican MAGAts. Governor Abbott and the entire Republican Party have shown their support of the threats with their deafening silence and constant spewing of conspiracy stupidity. With just three months before the election the county is now scrambling to replace the workers and conduct a safe and secure election.

It should be concerning to the Mexican MAGAts, who think they are republicans, that Latinos are the focus of these threats. It’s typical of the Republican Party to claim they are courting the Latino vote then threaten and stalk Latinas running the elections. According to KXAN:

“The year 2020 was when I got the death threats,” [Gillespie County Elections Administrator Anissa] Herrera told the Post. “It was enough that I reached out to our county attorney, and it was suggested that I forward it to FPD (Fredericksburg Police Department) and the sheriff’s office.”

A Thursday report from the U.S. House Oversight Committee showed similar threats to Tarrant County Elections Administrator Heider Garcia, who sent a letter to representatives about violent threats made to both himself and his children.

Gillespie county is about as red as it gets and includes the cities of Fredericksburg, Stonewall, and Luchenbach (where ain’t nobody feeling no pain). The threats and stalking are coming from the constant lies about voter fraud and rigged elections by Trump and the Republican Party. Eventually someone will get killed, the Republican Party will blame it on someone else, and we will all forget about it without doing something to stop it.

Just like we did after El Paso, Santa Fe, and the Uvalde massacres.

I need to do something! How do I get involved?

Electricity prices, property taxes, housing costs, college tuition, and home insurance are out the roof in Texas. Gun violence is out of control. Texas ranks 45th in education. Women’s rights have been slashed and you are telling yourself “I need to do something!“. Well you have about 2 months to do something to correct the direction of our State. It’s up to you to get involved. This is how.

Volunteer with a campaign. Find a campaign to work on. Sign up. Volunteer.

Volunteer with our clubs. The Bay Area Democratic Movement, Bay Area New Democrats, and the Bay Area Association of Democratic Women has opened a joint headquarters and will be campaigning for all of our Democrats across the Bay Area including Beto, Lina Hidalgo, and Adrian Garcia. We are located on the corner of Diana and Bay Area Blvd. 1215 Bay Area Blvd. We are open 11-6 Monday – Saturday. Closed Sunday. (Times will change as we get closer to the election.) It’s Back to School! Are CCISD Schools Safe?

Don’t blame CCISD, but our schools are no more safer than the day before the Uvalde massacre, or the day before the Santa Fe shooting and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

It’s been over 4 years since the Santa Fe shooting which took the lives of 8 students and 2 teachers. Governor Abbott and other local Republicans offered endless thoughts and prayers and nothing else. Four years later 19 children and 2 teachers lost their lives in Uvalde and again, Abbott has done nothing to protect your kids or any citizen in Texas from gun violence.

After Santa Fe Abbott signed a number of NRA sponsored bills and declared Texas to be sanctuary city for guns. The bills allows anyone to walk around in public with a loaded assault rifle with a large capacity clip. They allowed the purchase and use of a silencer. The bills do not require any training or licensing. It allows them to dress like GI Joe or a cartel member with bullet proof vests. In Texas anyone over the age of 18 can still buy an assault weapon and ammunition which can blow off body parts and tear bodies to pieces.

What has Abbott done to curb gun violence? Nothing. He refuses to ban open carry, or require background checks or require extensive checks for those wanting to own an assault weapon. He refused to address red flag laws. He refuses to address the massive increase in gun violence in the State. He refuses to even talk about it. He values guns and the gun lobby more than children and their families. At least Abbott and his NRA buddies have even stopped offering useless thoughts and prayers after every mass shooting.

So when you ask if your kids school is safe, the answer is pretty fucking easy.

BREAKING: Texas DPS to leave 1025 school districts open to assault!

You simply cannot make this up.

According to Click2Houston, Texas DPS will provide 30 officers to campuses throughout Uvalde ISD.

“As a new school year begins, we must ensure students, parents, and all dedicated school personnel can look forward to new opportunities to learn and grow. Texas will keep working to provide all available support and resources to the Uvalde community as they continue to heal.” — Greg Abbot

So 1 school district out of 1026 districts in Texas are now going to have extended police protection leaving 1025 districts open for assault, a total of 8723 schools. Once again Abbott is using a distraction in order to protect his gun buddies just like he did after the Santa Fe shooting.

After the Santa Fe shooting Governor Abbott and Lt Governor Dan Patrick promised metal detectors at the High School, again after the fact, after 8 kids were killed. Metal detectors at 1 out of 8724 school in Texas did not solve the problem as was the case in Uvalde. These are nothing but knee jerk reactions to distract from the real problem of easy access to military style weapons leading to 8 mass shootings in Texas alone.

This is Greg Abbott. He loves guns more than your kids lives.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issues a Texas Style Back to School Supplies list.

This should be satire.

It’s that time of year. Kids are about to return to school and supplies are needed. Here is a list of much needed supplies in today’s violent Texas climate. Besides the usual paper, crayons, etc, there are a few items that are a must to make sure your kids actually come home, courtesy of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Kevlar backpacks. Nothing works better, besides common sense gun safety, than a kevlar backpack to stop a bullet from an AR-15. Amazon has a number of backpacks just for kids.

Bleed stop. Bleed stop is a first aid powder for blood clotting. It could be used on yourself, if you are able, or your classmates. The packet slips easily into your bullet proof backpack.

Fake Blood. One of the surviving students in the Uvalde shooting smeared herself with the blood of her classmate and then played dead. A bottle of fake blood could be used, instead of putting your hand onto your classmates bleeding body. Simply pour over your head and face then play dead. A small bottle is enough for the entire class!

Bullet proof tablets. A tablet with a bullet proof backing is a must. They are easy to store and readily available when confronted with an 18 year old with an assault weapon.

#2 Pencils. Even your everyday supplies could be used for protection. A sharpened #2 pencil could be use to stab the 18 year old with an assault weapon.

This should be satire but it’s not. Texas is a safe haven for unrestricted gun ownership. Greg Abbott and State Representative Dennis Paul have not and will NEVER restrict the rights of an 18 year old to buy a military style AR-15. They have done nothing and will continue to do nothing to protect our lives even after 25 Texans were slaughtered in El Paso, 8 kids were killed at Sante Fe high school and 19 children were slaughtered in Uvalde. They love guns more than they love our children.

So, either stock up on Greg’s Abbott’s back to school supplies and quit complaining or vote these sick bastards, Greg Abbott and Dennis Paul, out of office.

Raising Campaign Cash: State Representative Dennis Paul (voucher money)

Dennis Paul isn’t exactly a money making machine when it comes to raising campaign cash. 

In his last financial report Paul raised $34,606, spent $21,461, and has $26,554 cash on hand. He still maintains an outstanding loan amount of $111,000. For a State House race $34,606 is a loser but Paul is in a safe district. Paul could be caught with giving a 18 year old a loaded assault weapon to shoot up a bunch of children and he will still be elected.

$1025 came from three individuals. $33,529 came from PAC money including $2500 from the Charter Schools Now PAC. As much as Paul kisses the ass of the NRA he has not received any money from any gun nut organization. 

BTW. Paul has scrubbed his website of any mention of any gun nut organizations. Luckily what is posted on the internet, stays on the internet.

The state of CCISD school safety. Will your kids be safe? It will cost you to find out.

The Coward of District 129

Well on one hand thanks to League City Chamber of Commerce for doing the job the cowards of our State Legislature refuse to do, having a discussion about school safety. On the other hand if you are concerned about how CCISD will be addressing an 18 year old with a military rifle, body armor, and high capacity clips attacking your kids school and playground you will have to pay for it.

The cost is $35 for non members and will probably not include any discussion about gun safety, or how permit less carry affects our safety at schools, malls, churches, etc. The three law enforcement officers from Galveston County and Texas Rangers presenters are all NRA republicans and will die protecting the guns that have been used to kill kids. CCISD will be represented by the Director of Safe and Secure Schools.

Other districts around Houston has had open discussions about gun safety to give parents the sad, truthful, facts about the easy access to guns and the challenge to law enforcement to keep us safe not only in school but in church, concerts, parades, etc. Some of these ugly facts include:

  • Anyone can carry loaded assault weapons in public 
  • Police cannot question anyone who is simply carrying a loaded assault weapon
  • To carry a loaded assault weapon in public requires no training or a license
  • 18 year olds can still buy an assault weapon and ammunition
  • Anyone can buy body armor and dress up like GI Joe
  • Anyone can buy a silencer to muffle the sound of shooting screaming kids
  • Nothing has changed to make your school safer from those who easily obtain assault weapons
This event is on July 20, 2022 and appropriately being held in a church where those who refuse to address gun violence can pray for forgiveness as they walk down the path to hell.
