Raising Campaign Cash: Eric Dick. Again.

October 30, 2019

Remember last reporting period:

In his latest report Dick raised only $1,435 but he loaned himself $75,000 as well as spent $93,248 out of his own pocket. It’s a pattern for Dick. In 2015 he spent $74,652 out of his own pocket in his race for Houston City Council. His $75,000 investment didn’t work out very well. He lost.

Dick is continuing his Buzbee method of raising money. He isn’t. Instead he has an outstanding loan of $75,000 and he has spent $99,000 of his own money in this period alone. He is in this race for $267,000 of his own money.
His spending includes salaries to a number of people with the same address of 3701 Brookwoods, which the owner is listed in the HCAD website as DICK INVESTMENT FAMILY LP. His treasurer, Jay Hamburger is also listed at that address as well as Dick himself.

He paid $25,000 to the Texas Conservative Media, the same group Tony Buzbee gave $35,000 to and got an endorsement. Unlike Tony, Dick didn’t get dick from Polland.

He paid $17,500 to PFS at the address of PO Box 7137 Houston TX 77248. That address is for the Carmona Law Firm. I cannot find a PFS. It is listed as “advertising”.

He paid $21,250 to Famous Group at 13201 Northwest Freeway Houston TX 77248. I could not find any organization called Famous Group or anything at that address besides Well Fargo.

He paid $12,500 to WS Services at 4325 Tulsa Houston TX 77092 which is a storage facility. Again I can’t find a WS Services.

He paid $15,250 to Blaze Campaign Consulting with an address of 5380 W 34th Houston TX 77092 which is a UPS store. I can’t find Blaze Campaign Consulting.

The laws for filing campaign finance reports are pretty easy. You must record the name and address for all expenditures. It really isn’t that hard. His report is an ethic complaint in the making.

Spending Campaign Cash: Tony Buzbee 8 days out

October 29, 2019

Tony has a lot of money to dole out since he is self funding his campaign for Mayor for $10 Million. Most of that money is being spent out of state and there are a few interesting tidbits.

After seeking the endorsement of the Christian anti-gay group led by Steven Hotze, Buzbee denied it on a televised debate. Hotze withdrew the endorsement. Buzbee has donated $500 to the Gay Caucus in Houston. He likes to play both sides but easily gets caught doing it.

Buzbee likes to target the Mayor with baseless allegation of “pay to play” but Buzbee has his own type of pay to play. Buzbee donated $35,000 to Gary Polland the editor of Texas Conservative Review. Gary has now endorsed him. Imagine that.

In his 8 day out report Buzbee spent $2.5Million (of his own money) with $2.4 Million going out of state. $1.9 Million was paid to Axiom Strategies and AX Media with the same address in Kansas. $386,000 was paid to The Prosper Group in Indiana, $114,00 was paid to Madison McQueen in California. At least he has paid his grassroots services employee very well with $134,000 in the first two weeks of October.

Raising Campaign Cash: COH Candidates 8 days out

October 29, 2019

From the recent financial reports:

Buzbee has spent considerable amount of money on commercials, most from out of state resources. Eric Dick spent $99,000 of his own money. Again. He raised $0 and has an outstanding loan of $75,000. Council Member Mike Knox continues to struggle with fundraising while his opponent has not. Houston Fire Fighters Union’s endorsed candidate for Mayor, Dwight Boykins, raised only $7581.

More on Buzbee’s spending later.

Someone has a bone to pick with Tony Buzbee

October 28, 2019

This is what happens when you attempt to play both sides as Tony Buzbee has.

A GPAC registered with the Texas Ethics Commission, Citizens for a Greater Houston, has raised money to attack Tony Buzbee with a mobile billboard. According to their Oct report they raised $10,000 from two donors, Ann Trammell and Robert Clay. The GPAC address is the same as the Treasurers, Bobby Orr and Orr Commercial, a commercial real estate firm.

I would bet all three of these individuals have a republican voting record. They don’t seem to be too happy and are advertising a website www.therealtonybuzbee.com about Buzbee’s donations to the Democratic Party but fail to mention his massive donations to their lord and savior Donald Trump. Here is something from their site:

The website ends with “Is this the kind of role model we want for Houston kids”? Maybe if Buzbee porked a porn star, paid her off to keep silent, then lied about it to win an election Citizens for a Greater Houston would have more respect for him.

BREAK IN NEWS: It didn't really happen at Buzbee's office

October 25, 2019
From the Houston Chronicle

It’s hard to make this stuff up.

ABC13 reported a break in Tony Buzbee’s campaign office with Buzbee jumping in with:

“This is not the kind of news that I want to wake up to in the morning,” said Buzbee in the statement. “But it just confirms that my campaign continues to gain momentum and we are on the right track.”

After a brief investigation the Houston Police Department issued a statement saying there was no sign of a break in and nothing was stolen. Buzbee issued another statement which seemed to be written by Donald Trump blaming the press. From the Houston Chronicle:

“So, bottom line, we don’t think this was another Watergate, as much as the press would like it to be,” Buzbee said. “Onward!!”

The press was only reporting there was a break in, then after the investigation they reported there wasn’t. There wasn’t much Watergating except to reference the $21 Million in art stolen from his home and that his gun jammed while the robbers drove off on a scooter. (Which sounds like a bucket full of shit) The Press gave wind to Buzbee to claim this “break in” proved he wasn’t 20 points behind Turner after spending $10 million. He should be thanking them for the free air and print.

Although nothing was stolen, over a hundred Buzbee campaign signs were returned.
Ok. I make that up. It was hard.

BREAKING: Local Texas Teabagger Congressmen have poopy

October 24, 2019

No Place but Texas.

Texas Teabag Congressman Brian Babin, Pete Olson, and Randy Weber soiled themselves while joining in a stunt to obstruct justice at an impeachment hearing. The stunt lead by the far white wing of the party disrupted one of three committee impeachment hearings. They brought their cell phones into a secure facility that does not allow cell phones. They chanted like freshmen at a panty raid. They ordered pizza and stuffed their faces with warm fried cock from Chick-Fil-A. Then they left their trash for others to pick up.

In trying to defend their savior, Donald Trump, they were claiming the hearings are being held in secret, in a basement, even though that is where the secure facility is located and the rules allow only those on the specific committee to be in the facility. Republicans were in the committee meeting. There was no secrecy to it. In fact the date, time, and location was public knowledge.

One of these days, after the testimony has been taken under oath, these hearings will be in the open and the teabaggers will get what they want along with a dozen eggs on their face. I can see the Democrats bringing Rick Perry in front of the cameras and all the tea baggers conveniently missing the meeting. It’s going to happen.

Until then, Babin, Olson, and Weber has poopies much like Joe Swanson of Family guy.

Republican group rescinds Tony Buzbee's endorsement

October 23, 2019

Even Houston’s so-called “Christian” republican organization has had enough of Tony Buzbee and it is just beautiful. Follow me a bit…. From

Fox26:

Monday night, Buzbee was asked if he agreed with Hotze’s views on LGBTQ issues. “No and I don’t really know Mr. Hotze. I’ve met him at church once. I was surprised to receive that (endorsement). I’m not sure why I received it,” answered Buzbee.

From the Houston Chronicle:

One of the leaders of a controversial, anti-LGBTQ group on Tuesday said Tony Buzbee met numerous times with Steven Hotze before the Republican power broker endorsed his mayoral campaign, contradicting comments Buzbee made at a televised debate the night before.
Buzbee and Hotze met three or four times, starting in late September, according to Jared Woodfill, who for years has worked directly with Hotze and his group, Campaign for Houston, including as its spokesman.

Steven Holtze had written a long endorsement of Buzbee, one that Buzbee claims he never sought. Woodfill is the former chair of the Harris County Republican Party and an attorney that represents insurance companies, the kind that Buzbee has probably sued on a number of occasions. Woodfill has said that Buzbee met with Holtze for over 8 hours in 3 different meetings painting Buzbee as a a world class, Trump type of liar. Woodfill claims Buzbee sought the endorsement of the LGBTQ hating organization.
Holtze has since cancelled his endorsement of Buzbee.  From Fox26:

“At this point, we’ve withdrawn the support, clearly based on the response last night. It appears Mr. Buzbee is trying to disassociate himself with the organization, disassociate himself with Dr. Hotze. And just to be honest with you, Dr. Hotze is very concerned that he would forget about the four days that they actually spent time together,” said Woodfill.

This is just delicious. Buzbee had this to say “I just don’t remember being on the couch for 8 hours with Steven Holtze.”
ok….that’s not what he said. But it’s funny.

Aggies for law suit abuse….. and Buzbee

October 22, 2019

I remember when I thought I was a Republican.

After attending Texas A&M in the Corps of Cadets and serving in the Army, I came to Houston to join Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse. I was a tort reformer, coming after those rotten, greedy, trial lawyers, like Buzbee, until I needed one of those lawyers. I learned that tort reform was a joke on us, and the Republican Party who made the joke was not on my side. It was a hard lesson to learn.

Republicans don’t like trial lawyers. Ask Governor Abbott was paralyzed after running under a tree being cut down. He sued, hit the lawsuit lottery, then, using his office as Attorney General, made it much harder for others to use the same courts to find justice. Abbot gave me the idea for a joke that I have used many times at hearings in the Capitol.

When do you stop bashing trial lawyers? —–When you need one.

Ask Greg Abbott. It’s going to be sad watching the tort reformers of the Republican Party vote for the people they hate, the trial lawyer, Tony Buzbee. It might also be funny to watch Texas A&M send a cease and desist letter to Buzbee for the use of Block T in his “Aggies for Buzbee” signs.

When do you stop bashing Tony Buzbee? —-When he loses.

Donald Trump for Mayor of Houston

October 21, 2019

In their endorsement of Mayor Turner for a second term the Houston Chronicle make a comment about Tony Buzbee:

The candidate most likely to push Turner into a runoff, trial lawyer Tony Buzbee, has self-funded his campaign to the tune of $10 million. He’s brought passion and, well, creativity, to the typical ho-hum dryness of mayoral politicking. While he may have turned heads, and perhaps noses, with his colorful animal metaphors – horse manure and hogs, oh my! – we’re looking for substance, experience, and true vision.

That pretty much says it all about Tony Buzbee, in a nice way. He is rich, able to invested $10 million of his own money to buy an election. He has colorful drawing the attention of republicans looking for another savior even though he is one of those blood sucking, greedy, trial lawyers. He is politically ignorant with little understanding of how government works. He will say anything to anyone to get what he wants. And he is full of shit.

Tony Buzbee is the Donald Trump of Houston. If Trump hadn’t shown his colors for the last 3 years Buzbee might have a chance to be Mayor. Constant, daily, lies about your opponent and claiming rampant corruption worked for Trump. Maybe the citizens of Houston is just plain tired of a politically ignorant, lying, assholes ruining their government.

Maybe. Hopefully.
