Michael Moore leads the field in money raised and cash on hand. I could not find any reports for Zaher Eisa. It just boggles the hell out of me. How can you possibly run a race for County Commissioner if you cannot or will not raise money? Money isn’t everything but you cannot get your message out if you do not have funds for literature, exposure, etc.

MJ Hegar leads the pack of Democrats with $3.2 Million raised. Cornyn raised $16M with $12M in the bank.

These are totals for the 2019-2020 period ending 1/31/2020.

If there was any doubt the socialist party has infiltrated the Democratic Party yesterdays endorsement of Audia Jones for Harris County District Attorney by The Caucus should have wiped that out.

The LGBTQ PAC, The Caucus, endorsed Audia Jones for DA. Jones is a member of the Socialists of America Party as is her husband who is now a sitting judge. Besides being a socialist, Jones can’t raise money. She is being supported by a PAC called the Real Justice PAC solely funded by another socialist from California. They have donated over $50,000 to Audia Jones which includes in-kind donations of over $20,000 for staff. Jones has $29,000 cash on hand.

The Caucus has an excellent endorsement process. The candidates are screened, interviewed and vetted. The screening committee makes a recommendation to the membership which can accept or override. It really is a good process and one that should be copied by other clubs.

This endorsement though is a head shaker. If by chance Jones advances to the general the seat will probably go to the Republicans. The last two socialist candidates running in the area, Bernie Sanders, and CD7 candidate Laura Moser lost in the primary by 65/35 and 70/30 after raising millions of dollars. The republicans would have a field day with this race in the general election.

Maybe Jones stacked the crowd in order to win the endorsement. If so, she should win other endorsements based solely on the membership dues and not ability to win.

Sri Preston Kulkarni raised $1.1 Million leading the other Democrats almost 10-1.
Reed raised $142,458.
Moore raised $142,528 with a $35,596 loan.

Bush raised $663,097 who is now probably the front runner although his reports are very strange. Camarillo is a republican wannabe Hispanic. He raised $61,092. Troy Nehls the rabid trump loving, foaming at the mouth, sheriff raised $108,747 second to Bush. Kathaleen Wall raised only $4700 and is having to depend on $1.6 Million of her own money to win.

Hill raised $345K.

There is a limit of $2700 per person for a candidate running for a federal office. $2700 for the primary and $2700 for the general election. So what is going on with the Pierce Bush campaign?

According to his latest campaign finance report Bush raised $663,092 most coming from donors donating over the $2700 limit. As an example:

The gun nut, trump loving, ass kissing, Kathaleen Wall is at it again.

In her latest campaign finance report Wall has put $1.6 Million of her own money into her primary campaign for Congressional District 22. She is up against about 19 other (R) rotten bastards. She joins others rotten bastards like Tony Buzbee, Gary Gates and Money Mayes Middleton who are wealthy enough to self finance their election. Maybe this time she will win. LOL.

When she was running for CD 2 in 2018 she spent $6 Million of her own money and came in 3rd place missing the run off even after being endorsed by Greg Abbott. Kathaleen gave Abbott a boat load of money. Imagine that.

Wall raised only $4700, spent $1,604,387, and has $0 COH.

Judge Lesley Briones is the incumbent of the Harris County Civil Court #4. Briones was appointed to the position by the Harris County Commissioners Court after Judge William McLeod declared, a couple of months after being elected to the seat, he was going to run for the Texas State Supreme Court. Unbeknown to Judge McLeod, his declaration, by law, made him ineligible to continue to hold the position.

Judge McLeod has since abandoned his quest for the Texas Supreme Court deciding instead to attempt to win his seat back from Judge Briones. Based upon his lack of understanding of the laws of of the State and his fundraising numbers he has an uphill climb.

Briones has a decisive edge in fundraising totals and cash on hand with $73,110/115,366 respectfully. McLeod has raised $6,890 with $16,148 COH.

Judge Briones has performed the job well and deserves to remain in the seat.

Dennis Paul and Ryan Lee are running in the Republican primary for Texas HD129. Paul is the incumbent. Neither are great fundraisers. 

Ryan Lee was considering a run for Houston City Council but instead let a policeman get a whooping by Council Member Martin. Ryan has now set his sights a bit higher and decided to challenge Dennis Paul in the primary. Ryan only raised $10,720, spent $4,779 and has about $5,800 left just prior to the primary. Not much to run a primary on.

Paul still has a problem fundraising carrying a $156,000 personal loan. This period he raised 85,621, spent $38,444 and has $116,486 COH. Half of his money came from PACs.

Paul is also endorsed by the Gun Nuts of America (NRA).

So, it bothers me when I and others get unsolicited text messages from “Char”, a volunteer with Better Streets Hou, a group I cannot find on the net. Needless to say someone had a snappy response.If there was a way to file a complaint on Dick, I  would. He truly is a dick.

Well, guess what? Someone filed a federal lawsuit against Dick for sending unwanted text messages during his campaign. I wonder if this could become a class action suit? It’s been filed in federal court which will probably cost Dick a pretty penny. I’ll text everyone when I get more info…..

NOTE: The Harris County Democratic Party has changed their mind. The unqualified Jerry Garcia will still be on the ballot and the votes will be counted.

I’ve reached out to Constable Diaz but did not hear back from him.

Constable Chris Diaz had a strange challenger, his wife’s cousin, Jerry Garcia. What made it even stranger Garcia had absolutely no experience in law enforcement. None. Zero. Zip. And to top it off the other challenger to Constable Diaz was also named Jerry Garcia! The second Garcia is actually a Lt in the Constable’s office. He has a lifetime of law enforcement experience. He is well qualified for the job unlike Diaz’s cousin.

Unqualified Garcia wasn’t actually running. He had no website. He wasn’t going to raise money. He didn’t appoint a treasurer. He wasn’t campaigning. And now, he has quit the race but not early enough to have his name removed from the ballot. Any votes he receives will not be counted but mission accomplished! Confusion has been created on the ballot.

Strange? Coincidence? Or was this a coordinated effort to confuse voters by Diaz, his cousin, and his wife? Not quite sure how we could determine this. Maybe a civil suit could do it?

Both Garcia’s will be on the ballot. The qualified Garcia will be on the top of the ballot as Lt. Jerry Garcia. Go vote for him if you live in that district.

I have written about the Real Justice PAC that is raising money (from one individual) to promote socialist candidates running in the Democratic Primary. From my previous post:

According to the Texas Ethics Commission Real Justice PAC has raised $298,050 with $200,000 coming from one individual, Cari Tuna from San Fransisco. Only $10,200 came from Texans, and only $600 came from Harris County.

The PAC is from California primarily funded by one individual. The latest report claims to have raised $54,759.15 but did not include the required information concerning who donated and their address. They also spent the exact same amount to two socialist candidates, Audia Jones running for District Attorney in Harris County and Jose Garza running for District Attorney in Travis County.

Garza has bragged about out raising his opponent on his last report. He raised $99,849 but that includes $29,489 from the PAC. Audia Jones received $20,076. Her reports have not yet posted on the Harris County website.

These are two candidates aligned with the Socialist Party running as Democrats in our primaries. This is a far left group based out of California trying to infiltrate our party. Can you imagine if one of these candidates won the primary and how the republicans would run against them?

Be prepared to hear the word “Socialist” over and over and over again. They should run in their own gdamn party.

There is a special election for House District 28 between Elizabeth Markowitz and Gary Gates. Here are the results of campaign funds per the Texas Ethics Commission:

Gary Gates is one of those guys who runs for office, over, and over, and over again. He is also very wealthy, wealthy like Texas Representative Money Mayes Middleton, Kathaleen Wall, or Tony Buzbee. 

It hasn’t worked for Gates in the past. In 2005 he began loaning himself money and spending from his own pocket in a race for State Senator District 18. He lost. In 2014 he ran again, this time loaning himself $1.7 Million. He lost. In 2016 be ran for Railroad Commissioner loaning himself about $4.5 Million. He lost. 

Gates is just another Tony Buzbee. Rich. Politically ignorant.

OMG. It’s Tony Buzbee all over again only worse.

Gary Gates is running for House District 28. Just like Tony Buzbee he is self financing his campaign with over $1 Million as of Dec 31. Like Buzbee he is a Trump loving republican but unlike Buzbee he has some extra ugly baggage. From the Texas Tribune:

Forward Majority’s spot is based on accusations that CPS staffers made against Gates and his wife, Melissa, after the agency removed the couple’s 13 children — 11 adopted — from their Houston-area home in 2000, saying the kids were in “immediate danger.” A few days later, a judge sent the children back home — but he was disturbed by the claims, the Houston Press reported at the time, and emphasized he was only seeking to determine whether the “emergency removal was appropriate, not whether these children have been abused.”

13 children? Besides this latest tidbit, Gates is just one of many republicans buying their way into office. Money Mayes Middleton spent $2.5 Million to win a House seat in Galveston. Kathleen Wall spent $6 Million just to come in 3rd place. She is doing it again in CD22. Others include Angela Paxton, Patrick Fallon, Joan Huffman, Matthew Rinaldi (he quit), Don Huffines, and did I mention Tony Buzbee?

Running for office is not a game. It’s not funny. It’s not cute. It’s serious business. Lives literally depend upon who is elected to represent our State and it takes money. Lots of money. As an example, Beto O’Rourke raised $80 Million (that is and 8 followed by a 0) and still lost. Candidates who do not understand this and does not make the effort to raise the money necessary to get their message to the voters should consider doing something else.
