Whining at the CCISD Board Meeting by Trustee Bowen

It’s becoming a trait of the Republican Party. Whine.

This weeks CCISD school board meeting was quite long. If you stayed for the end you heard Trustee Bowen begin to whine about losing a vote concerning an application called Dreambox.

On the agenda was an item to approve a contract continuation for an application that kids used for math. This application, Dreambox, has been in use for 7 years, has had an earlier extension approved, and has been well received. Bowen has been on the board for 4 years.

So all of a sudden Bowen decided to call for a delay in the voting because he wanted more information concerning the data that the application stored. All the other Trustee’s were satisfied with the application except for Jeff Larson, who tends to follow Bowen. Bowen lost the vote to delay then lost the vote to approve it. (The extension was approved)

He then began to whine about the board not supporting his request. He, Captain Chaos, wanted consensus on matters that popped out of his ass at any given moment. He whined about the board’s decision to vote against him.

My first thought when Bowen began asking long, drawn out questions, was “Why did he wait 4 years to bring this issue up?” It’s not like he didn’t have time or prior notice of the agenda item. For gosh sakes the application has been around for 7 years!

This is what republicans do best. Lose then whine.

Caught on Camera. CCISD Trustee testifies in Austin against public education.

Wow. Two Caught on Camera posts in one week!

There was a hearing for Senate Bill 175 which would gut the ability of the Texas Association of School Boards to advocate on behalf of the 1025 school boards that are members. According to their website:

The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) is a voluntary, nonprofit, statewide educational association that serves and represents local Texas school boards and was established in 1949 with two main goals in mind:

To share information through publications and training to help Texas board members serve their communities more effectively.

To speak with a unified voice to decision makers to chart the best future for Texas public schools.

Trustee Scott Bowen, identifying himself as a Trustee of CCISD and speaking as a Trustee, on behalf of less than 50% of those who voted for him, spent his “own time and own dime” to speak in support of cutting TASB advocacy and giving the State more control over a local school district.

TASB has 1025 districts as members out of 1250 districts in the entire state. They were created in 1949 and have sustained their membership for over 30 years. They do the job that Trustees, working parents, teachers, and students can’t do. They advocate for public education, informing and advising elected officials on the impacts of legislation.

If you have ever been a citizen lobbyist (I have) you know how much time it takes from work and your family to speak with staff and elected officials and to speak at hearings. Unlike the high paid lobbyists working for the homebuilders in Texas, I could only spend a week or two in Austin to advocate for consumers. The little guys (you and your family) are out gunned especially when it comes to the cost of home insurance, electricity, new homes, and other consumer issues.

And students, parents, and teachers are also out gunned especially when the State and Scott Bowen is hell bent on dismantling public education. You can watch Bowen’s 3 minutes of fame here.

Gun violence. It truly is a mental health issue.

Obviously we haven’t had enough pain and suffering. At least we haven’t.

Another school shooting this time in Nashville Tennessee has claimed the lives of three nine year olds and three adults. The Nashville police chief made it a point to say that law enforcement was quick to act unlike the cowards at the Uvalde massacre.

But let’s get to the point. This gun violence is a mental health issue. It has nothing to do with guns, or gun ownership, or easy access to killing weapons. It has everything to do with people who are sick in the head. People who walk the streets with a smile on their face after children are gunned down. There is no other explanation for this. It is a mental health issue because if you are an elected official, in a position of power to stop this senseless killing of children, and you do absolutely nothing then you are one mentally sick fuck.

Case in point, State Representative Dennis Paul of Houston Texas in the Bay Area. Dennis prides himself by wearing his NRA hat to the polls. He voted for open carry and permit less carry allowing anyone to carry a gun in the open, including assault weapons and body armor, and silencers. He supports 18 year olds, like the kid who killed 19 children in Uvalde, to buy assault weapons and armor piercing bullets. He supports buying silencers like the kind the Mafia uses.

Dennis Paul isn’t the only godless, sick, fuck in Texas. Everyone who voted for him and the other sick officials are also just as mentally ill as he is. Children are having their heads blown off by military style weapons and all Paul can do is wear his stupid looking NRA hat to the polls.

And all voters do is keep voting for him.

Caught on video. Why Peter Lauzon is running for CCISD School Board

If you want to know why Peter Lauzon is running for CCISD Trustee, just listen to his own words. It’s on video.

After dishonestly claiming to want to take politics out of school boards, Peter Lauzon, candidate for CCISD District 3, is caught on video with what he really wants to do, which is to bring partisan politics into the school board. In the first clip he states the Republican Party needs to take over school boards. In the second clip he goes on to talk about the Republican Party funding school board races specifically CCISD.

And in the third clip he talks about CRT (ugh) and how the district handled the pandemic. He goes on to praise Jeff Larson who beat an incumbent and Scott Bowen who beat another incumbent. Lauzon claimed the incumbents were “rubber stamps” and were running as Democrats, which they did not.

As stated many times School Board elections are non partisan and both candidates, Larson and Bowen replaced, ran non partisan campaigns and have served the community honorably leaving their politics at the door while Bowen and Larson have brought nothing but chaos and partisan bickering.

Maybe Lauzon might want to read a book on CRT which has never been taught in K-12, will never be taught, and was never been considered to be taught. As I have said in the past CRT is an elective for those seeking a PHD. Teaching CRT to kids is like teaching Differential Equations to kindergarten kids. CRT is nothing but a racist dog whistle.

He might also talk to teachers who courageously stepped up to the task of teaching remotely and who were concerned about the health of their own families as well as kids in school during a devastating pandemic that took the lives of over 800 Texas teachers and 1 million Americans. COVID also took the life of Lauzon’s predecessor on the Republican State Executive Committee, Scott Apley.

From these videos it is clear why Lauzon wants to run for the board. We do not need partisan politics to continue to infect our school board. CCISD is one of the best districts in the state. Our Trustees have challenges just to keep up with the constant pressure put on them concerning school funding and ridiculous mandates on our teachers, administrators, and students. They do not have time for Lauzon’s and Bowen’s political bullshit.

Keeping politics out of CCISD. Peter Lauzon (LOL)

This is just plain dishonest.

Peter Lauzon is running for CCISD Trustee. He is a political hack, deeply involved with the Republican Party, recruited by Trustee Scott Bowen, another political hack, will probably be funded by the party and should never be anywhere near a public school. I have said this before about Lauzon:

So here comes yet another election denier, one that will whine if they lose instead of graciously accepting the loss and move on. Lauzon has strong ties to Scott Bowen, the Corporal Chaos of CCISD and the Republican Party. He was a member of the Texas Republican Executive Committee. His wife is the Vice President of the Bay Area Republican Women’s Club. Lauzon, as a Committee member, motioned for the Texas Republican Party to endorse Bowen and they did. He most probably will have tens of thousands of dollars to spend from his party just as Scott Bowen did in latest reelection.

So it just bothers the living snot out of me when Lauzon, in his interview with the Houston Chronicle, says “Lauzon said as a trustee he would ensure that politics stays out of the board’s decision-making process and work to create an environment of accountability to students and parents.”

What an incredibly dishonest statement. Just like his predecessors, Misty Dawson and Christine Parizo, Lauzon is claiming he wants to keep politics out of the CCISD board yet he is the only person running that will bring extreme right wing politics into the board along side of Scott Bowen. This is dishonesty at it’s worse.

To compound this, Lauzon claims that CCISD needs to prepare kids for careers outside of attending college. Someone ought to tell Lauzon that CCISD has one of the BEST programs in the State that does exactly that. Maybe he should get a tour of the CTE (not CRT) program at CCISD before opening his pie hole. The Career and Technical Education program provides students with the opportunity to prepare for college as well as a career in many different fields such as IT, Constructions, Audio/Visual, Culinary, manufacturing and more. It is a very impressive program.

The fact that Lauzon doesn’t even know of this program is yet another hint that he has no business being on the school board. His stated goals is straight out of the republican talking points “I want to give parents a voice in the decisions that will impact their child’s education because I know what it’s like to have to fight for the educational needs of my own child,”. Parents have a voice. They have always had a voice. What Lauzon is referring to is a voice of the extreme far right that wants to ban books, ban the gay community, and ban anything that doesn’t adhere to his party of perverted “family values”.

Make no mistake about this. Lauzon will bring his perverted values and extreme right wing politics into the board. CCISD doesn’t need partisan politics from any political party.

LOL. Texas is one of the worst states to retire to.

No place but Texas. Literally.

According to a study referenced by the Houston Chronicle:

A report from Seniorly, which provides an online directory of over 60,000 senior living communities, ranked the Lone Star State as the seventh-most expensive state for seniors. The ranking accounted for average retirement income, cost of living, average electricity bill cost and more.

It’s almost funny, if it wasn’t so damn expensive to live in Texas for anyone. Electricity, home insurance, and college tuition was reformed in 2003 by the republican legislature. All have skyrocketed since. Seniors probably don’t care about the cost of education unless they are paying for it for their grand kids because their kids can’t afford it but the cost of electricity and home insurance could crush them. Texas ranks #5 in highest home insurance rates. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/insurance/home-insurance-texas and #21 in electricity affordability  (#1 is good. #50 is bad) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deregulation_of_the_Texas_electricity_ma and it is getting worse.

Besides the cost of electricity and other essentials, Texas ranks #1 in domestic terrorist threats, #1 in mass shootings, #45 in property taxes, and #49 in living standards. All of these rankings are listed here. The Chronicle continues:

“The first is affordability,” Healy said. “The second is personal engagement, like where can people thrive when they age. And the third is access to health care. So this study, in and of itself, is an effort to take a deep dive into that first factor, which is affordability.”

Besides all of the rankings, Texas, once known as the friendly state, hates the gay community, Muslims, Jews, and other non-Christians. Texas craps all over our educators, and have flooded our streets with weapons even law enforcement are afraid of. We are slowly moving to a privatized education system like Louisiana did with horrible results. Every year it gets worse but people continue to flock here because it aligns with their values.

We really do suck.

CCISD campaign finance report schedule and what to look for

CCISD elections will be held on May 6. Campaign finance reports will be due April 6, 30 days before the election and April 28, 8 days before the election. The reports will be available on the CCISD Election Page in pdf form.

The April 6 report will be the first report to gauge the strength of the candidates. Usually a few thousand dollars will be needed to run for Trustee but over the last few elections outside partisan money has flooded the district. When reviewing the reports look for the following:

  • Large contributions from individuals, PACs, or political parties from outside of the district. Local elections should be about local issues funded by local individuals. Watch for any candidate who depends on this outside help especially from partisan organizations.
  • Large contributions from the candidate in the form of a loan or donation. In Texas there is no limit to the amount of donations or loans. Current Trustee, Scott Bowen, loaned himself $20,000 to win with less than 50% of the vote. Many times a candidate will jump start their campaign with a personal loan, but $20,000? That is just obscene.
  • Also look at the expenditures. Look for money spent on outside consultants. These are usually for mailer services. Lately candidates have paid for block walkers instead of using volunteers or family members.
  • Look at in-kind donations. In-kind donations are services provided on behalf of the campaign in lieu of money. For instance someone could pay for food for an event and report it as an in-kind donation.
  • All donations in any form should be disclosed but some are hard to find. For instance the Harris County Republican Party sent out a mailer for Scott Bowen but it is difficult to find the report describing the details of the expenditure.

Police are afraid of the AR15.

NOTE: PARDON MY LANGUAGE BUT I AM DONE FUCKING AROUND.

We are at a point that we must ask the hard question: What the fuck is wrong with us?

For living fucks sakes! Law enforcement that entered the Uvalde school was so afraid of the AR15, which the 18 year old shooter had legally purchased, that they waited for over an hour to do something. According to the Texas Tribune:

“You knew that it was definitely an AR,” Uvalde Police Department Sgt. Donald Page said in an interview with investigators after the school shooting. “There was no way of going in. … We had no choice but to wait and try to get something that had better coverage where we could actually stand up to him.”

Wait? Wait? Are you fucking kidding me? The police were equip with body armor, guns, and shields. The children were armed with crayons, glue sticks, and construction paper. People lining the streets of the Friendswood 4th of July parade, shoppers at Walmart, people who are worshipping at St Bernadette Catholic church are armed with fireworks, groceries, and bibles. If police are too afraid to confront a good guy who bought a gun to become a bad guy killing children what about us? What about you?

This report just shows you that this gun violence condoned by the Republican Party and endorsed by our State Representative Dennis Paul is nothing but a mental health issue. You have to be one sick motherfucker to be an elected official with the power to stop this senseless killing and sit back and do nothing but wear a dumbass looking NRA hat on top of your sick ass melon. But Dennis Paul isn’t the only sick fuck to blame for the deaths of 19 children and 2 of their teachers. Those who do nothing, those who keep voting for these rotten bastards, those who turn their heads and do nothing but offer thoughts and prayers even though they don’t think or pray, are also responsible for those kids whose heads were blown off. They are also responsible for the kids who were crying for their mommies laying in a pool of blood. They are also responsible for those kids who are physically and mentally scarred for life.

We are a mental health state. We are a sick, sick state. God damn us all to hell.

Harris County Republican Party lead thrown out of State Hearing

LOL. The “Man of the year” was thrown out of a hearing at the State Capitol.

Steven Hotze has been indicted on a number of felony counts concerning a former policeman holding an AC repairman at gun point claiming he had thousands of illegal ballots in his truck. (he didn’t) So the former cop is now indicted. And Hotze also. And the AC repairman is suing his ass off. As I said in a previous post:

At the time Hotze claimed he had no prior knowledge of the incident. Unfortunately he described the upcoming attack and requesting law enforcement backup in detail with a US Attorney days prior to the event. The US Attorney, Ryan Patrick, is the son of Lt Governor Dan Patrick and…..he recorded the call. Hotze might be, what many in legal field refer to as being, fucked.

So who best to speak on a bill in the capitol on behalf of the republicans in texas? Hotze, a leader in the Republican Party, began calling Texans “pedophiles” on multiple occasions. State Senator JosĂ© MenĂ©ndez had had enough. From the Houston Chronicle:

“Dr. Hotze, I have trans friends, I have trans staff members, I have trans members of my community,” MenĂ©ndez later said, after Hotze refused to stop. “It’s very hurtful to them.”

Hotze’s mic was turned off, but he was still audible as he responded: “That’s what they are.”

Hotze has had a boner for the gay community for the last couple of decades and it was on full display at the hearing. I’ve spoke at hearings before and I know better than to call people names alleging they are criminals like calling Hotze a felon. Hotze is not a felon. He has been indicted on felony charges. Only when he is convicted will we be able to refer to him as Dr Felon Steve Hotze.

Until then the Republican Party might think twice about sending Hotze to speak on their behalf. On second thought, he is actually a great representative of their party and should speak more often.

CCISD’s new book challenging policy. What the hell is this?

Usually I start blog posts with a comment that is full of wit. Today I have no wit to give.

CCISD Scott Bowen, (Corporal Chaos) seen here grinning like a 12 year old under the bed covers watching porn, must have a perpetual woody over the new CCISD book challenging policy although I bet this isn’t exactly what he is expecting.

According to the Galveston County News CCISD voted unanimously on a book challenging policy:

“With the vote, parents and community members can challenge any instructional or library book they believe violates a new set guidelines, which include examples such as promoting or endorsing race or sex stereotyping or race or sex scapegoating.”

According to the GDN this new policy came about partially due to the new law that Bowen drooled all over banning CRT. CRT (Critical Race Theory) is an elective class taught to those seeking a PHD. It has never been taught in any school in CCISD because it is an elective class taught to those seeking a PHD. (It really is that simple) But that didn’t stop Bowen and the Republican Party from pushing a bill banning CRT much like they intend to ban Differential Equations being taught to kindergarten kids.

There are a lot of questions to be asked about this policy that deserve answers. On one hand this was a unanimous vote. I trust most of the board members to do what is right for the school district and to follow the law. Their hands might be tied by Greg Abbott who believes in local government, as long as he controls it. On the other hand it bothers the crap out of me to see language such as “promoting or endorsing race or sex stereotyping or race or sex scapegoating.”. What the living hell is that?

I bet there won’t be a swarming mass of parents combing through the library to find that one book that warrants pearl clutching, but I do believe the Korporal Khaos Klan has already targeted specific books and will send their purity police to keep the new review board busy for quite some time. For most parents they will be more concerned with their kids doing their homework, getting to school on time, attending their kids soccer games, enjoying the great education that is provided by CCISD, and other activities normal parents do.

Let’s review the details of the new policy and get input from those who know what they are talking about.

CCISD trustee candidate won’t answer simple questions.

It’s not that hard of a question.

Peter Lauzon is running for CCISD Trustee. I’ve attempted to ask a simple question about accepting the results of the election after certification. For this question I have been blocked. Hopefully someone will ask this question to all the candidates at the upcoming forums.

The last two elections we had election deniers cost the district time and money. Christine Parizo, who lost by 25 percentage points then called for recounts and claimed the election was fraudulent. (it wasn’t) Her actions needlessly cost the district over $30,000 and her complaint to the Texas Attorney General was eventually “cloooooosed” with no action.

Then we had Misty Dawson who took her loss one step further, filing a lawsuit against the winning candidate and demanding her to call a new election (which she has no authority to do). Again, the district was poised to spend a lot of money to defend against this stupidity. She eventually dropped the suit.

So here comes yet another election denier, one that will whine if they lose instead of graciously accepting the loss and move on. Lauzon has strong ties to Scott Bowen, the Corporal Chaos of CCISD and the Republican Party. He was a member of the Texas Republican Executive Committee. His wife is the Vice President of the Bay Area Republican Women’s Club. Lauzon, as a Committee member, motioned for the Texas Republican Party to endorse Bowen and they did. He most probably will have tens of thousands of dollars to spend from his party just as Scott Bowen did in latest reelection.

I have reached out to Lauzon and offered to have lunch to discuss my concerns about his candidacy, his ties to the party and Bowen, and his plans if elected. He has refused. Everyone should be concerned about his motives for running and the chaos he would bring to the board.

BTW. In Distict 2 the Houston Chronicle had a short article with questions and answers about candidates Glencora Rodgers and Jamieson Mackay. Both seem to be running for all the right reasons and it should be a very good race. I found Mr. Mackay’s comment right on point:

“I think it’s time that we get back to being able to have civil conversations about issues and not just have reactions based on our personal beliefs and finding commonality instead of focusing on what divides us.”

Absolutely! I’m looking forward to the next Chronicle article about Arturo Sanchez and Peter Lauzon. Hopefully Lauzon has not blocked them.

Raising Campaign Cash: Houston City Elections

As I have said in the past, before you run for office make sure you know the laws concerning campaign donations.

City of Houston elections will be in November. The Houston Chronicle has a list of candidates that have filed. The filing deadline is in August so this list can change. Also candidates will have the opportunity to move to different positions until the deadline.

A couple of notes. I believe there is a $5000 limit on donations from individuals and PACs. Robin Williams, who is running for Mayor, has a number of donations, including one from herself, that has violated this limit. An amount of NA means the candidate has not filed a report yet. I only included At Large and the District E race which includes Clear Lake. For incumbents I included the figures only from their last report. Some of the candidates have reported fundraising numbers over the past year and some have raised money only over the last few months. Senator Whitmire has listed Cash on Hand including his donations from his previous years in office, as did Martin and Kubosh. Here are the totals for Houston City Council races:

League City Councilman, Captain Chaos, calls for smoking out a leaker of public information

This ought to get wild.

According to the Galveston Daily News League City Councilman, Justin Hicks, seen here posing for a Grecian Formula commercial, has called for the “smoking out” of a leaker, a city employee, who tipped the Galveston Daily News about his racist email sent in 2021 to the Police Chief. Last week a citizen posted the emails Hicks sent to the police chief questioning the hiring practices of the department. As posted last week:

“Please tell me that LCPD is committed to hiring officer candidates based on qualifications, NOT skin color.”

It didn’t go well for Hicks and he was left with egg on his face and in his beard. Instead of letting this email, obtained via an Open Records Request, die out, Hicks has breathed life into it by calling for the outing of the city employee who tipped the Daily News of it’s existence. From GDN:

“Someone is going to get busted,” Hicks said Tuesday. “What you do on government time is going to come back to bite you.”

Hicks might want to review the Freedom of Information Act, the Open Records Act, and maybe the legal do’s and don’ts of being on the League City Council. Every record, email, letter, correspondence, etc is subject to the laws governing all elected officials with few exceptions. Also calling for retaliation against an employee for disclosing public information might also disqualify you for serving as an elected official. It might be considered an abuse of power. That usually doesn’t end well.

Luckily Hicks is in Texas where lawlessness is considered part of being a republican.

Maybe the moderators of the various debates would consider asking these questions to the candidates.

The parents, students, and teachers are lucky to have a very impressive School Board to represent them in educational matters. Most of them are truly dedicated to making CCISD a shining example of how a school board can maintain and improve education for those entering the workforce or moving on to a college degree.

Unfortunately over the last coupe of elections special interest, partisan politics, and unlimited outside campaign funds have been introduced into our elections resulting in electing UFOs (Unqualified For Office) and bringing chaos into the board. Our district has survived this attack so far and has rejected extreme candidates in the last two elections but it continues in the election of 2023. With that in mind I think these are very valid questions to ask candidates running for the CCISD School Board:

Will you accept the results of the election after certification? The only answer should be YES or NO not YES or NO (unless I win) In the last two elections the losing candidates requested recounts, demanded investigations, and one actually sued the winning candidate to force a new election. (it was eventually withdrawn) There hasn’t been one single credible bit of evidence of voting irregularities in any local election, so will you accept the results of the election or should we expect you to whine like a little bitch if you lose?

Why are you running? If you are running against an incumbent tell us what drove you to challenge him/her. What is the School Board lacking that made you wake up one morning and say “I’m running for the school board!”. All candidates should make it very clear why they are running for an unpaid job that will take time and effort.

Will you accept out of district money? In the last election thousands of dollars came from a partisan organization into a losing effort to win a seat on the board. In one race $8000 was spent. In another $20,000 plus the partisan organization’s contribution in mailers. Will you be accepting support in money or resources from partisan organizations, PACs, out of district donors, or special interests?

Have you ever been a member of a political organization. If so what positions did you hold and how will that help you in school board matters? Participation in a political organization should not be a disqualifying attribute but it should be made clear to the voters. Many former board members have been associated with political organizations but they did not wear it on their shoulders and they have successfully represented the district and not party politics.

If you win and serve your term what will you want to have accomplished? Looking ahead, and looking back, what would be your shining achievement serving on the school board. What would you consider as your specific major accomplish?

What educational qualifications do you bring to the board? Have you participated in school board committee? Do you have an education background as a teacher, administrator, or employee of the school district. Have you participated in school activities with your kids?

Texas Republican files bill to end NASA in Houston

We do things bigger in Texas, like having bigger idiots in office.

Texas State Representative Brian Slaton pictured here with his first (or second?) wife, after walking on water, has filed a bill to start Texas secession from the United States. If this bill would pass (it won’t) the bill would allow a public vote on secession in November. It’s nothing more than a right wing idiot dog whistle perking up the ears of the ignorant and stupid people in Texas who think Texas could actually leave.

For the sake of the ignorant and stupid people who think this is actually a possibility let’s review what would happen if Texas was allowed to leave. First all military bases would be closed. All military equipment would be shifted to other US bases. Military personnel would have to either move to the United States or quit. The federal teat would dry up with Military towns being abandoned. Businesses that support the military bases would have to close shop. The tax base for cities would be devastated.

All federal offices such as Social Security, Medicare, Veterans Affairs, etc would be closed. Social Security payments would end leaving millions of stupid old people fighting over cat food. Medicare would end with medical facilities and healthcare providers losing billions in profits and old people dying from contaminated cat food. Federal transportation funds for roads, rail, and airports would dry up. NASA’s facilities in Houston would be closed and moved to Alabama or Florida. NASA employees would either move or quit. The community would lose billions in revenue. (See how stupid this sounds?)

Best of all, with Texas having no military, Mexico would cross the river and take back Texas. Much like the Alamo Texans would be defenseless except for a few bubbas with their AR-15s as Mexico walks into Texas reclaiming the land that was stolen from them back in the 1800’s. Lucky for Texans there will be too many bodies to pile up and burn as they did after the fall of the Alamo.

As I said, we do things bigger in Texas. If you think Texas can leave the United States you are a Texas sized idiot.

Remember the Alamo? Maybe we shouldn’t

It’s was just a plain old fashion ass kicking.

Remember the Alamo was a pretty simple minded and effective battle cry even though most never could or can remember what the battle was all about. Today most don’t even know the date when the Alamo fell. (Hint: It was on March 6 1836.) Today most don’t want to remember what the battle of the Alamo was all about, and for good reason.

Texas, at the time, was part of Mexico. It was their land. Mexico reached out and invited settlers to come to Mexico (Texas). All they asked was for them to learn the language and become Catholics. During that time Mexico helped the settlers by providing weapons to fend off attacks by the Native Americans. Instead of being thankful for the land, hospitality, and lifestyle provided by Mexico, about 200 white guys, led by leaders wearing raccoon hats to drive fear into their rivals, decided to steal the land from Mexico starting with a stand at the Alamo. BIG MISTAKE!

The battle of the Alamo was probably the biggest military blunder next to the Iraq war in American history. They raccoon army had limited supplies. They had no reinforcements from the United States. They had no support and was abandoned, left to die all for a simple minded and effective battle cry. And they did. All of them. And their bodies were piled up and burned. (except for Gregorio Esparza who was provided a Christian burial)

The 200 poorly equipped, poorly dressed, land stealers picked an unfortunate fight with thousands of well armed, well fed, Mexican soldiers who spent a few nights camped outside blaring music from Mexico’s boy band, Menudo. The Alamo fell on March 6. The land stealers were considered heroes even though they were military idiots who basically lost their lives for pretty much nothing but a battle cry. What did anyone expect? What would you do if you had invited someone into your home, gave them food, water, and a place to raise a family and then they decided to steal your house and land? Todays Texans would grab their AR-15, put their teeth in, and kick the living shit out of the squatters and then expect to be interviewed on FoxNews. That is what Mexico did. They kicked the shit out of the ungrateful, land stealing, hillbillies, stacked their bodies in pile and burnt them. (FoxNews didn’t cover that)

So. Let’s really remember the Alamo. They deserve it.

Texas Republican bill will limit tax breaks for the divorced. (Praise the lord?)

No place but Texas. Literally.

Republican State Representative Tony Tinderholt, pictured here as he looks at a new intern, is not happy about House Bill  HB No. 2889, introduced by Republican representative Bryan Slaton. HB2889 will give huge tax breaks to those who are married and with lots of kids.

Unfortunately the bill excludes same sex marriages as well as those who are divorced. This has pissed off Tinderholt because he has been married FIVE times, twice to the same woman. He has clearly violated the “Sanctity of Marriage and One Man One Woman”. He has 3 kids from 2 of his wives. According to Reform Austin Tinderholt has voted against protecting women’s health and safety of children. He had a restraining order placed on him after his first marriage which included:

  • “Threatening Petitioner in person, by telephone, or in writing to take unlawful action against any person.”
  • “Causing bodily injury to Petitioner or to a child of either party.”
  • “Destroying, removing, concealing, encumbering, transferring, or otherwise harming or reducing the value of the property of one or both of the parties.”

Slaton’s bill will deny Tinderholt the right to benefit from the tax cuts for straight, white, christian, praise the lord, couples. Tinderholt responded:

“I intend to fight this bill and will beat off my opponents with both hands!.” (Actually he didn’t say this but it is funny!) It is clear the from bills filed the republican purity police is out in force.

The fix was in at League City Council meeting on the book ban

We have seen this 👩‍👧‍👧before and it didn’t end well.

The all white male League City Council voted 5-3 to approve the book ban resolution last night even after hours of testimony in opposition. What was interesting was the no show of those who supported the resolution in its original form. It’s clear they were told not to attend since it was going to pass anyway. And it did by a 5-3 vote with Councilmen Crews, Tessler, and Bowen voting no.

Speakers were not only passionate they brought great information, some quoting Supreme Court cases and Texas law. Some called for the resignation of Councilman Justin Hicks (Captain Chaos) who authored the resolution. Hicks was clearly the target of verbal attacks and sat there like he just got caught watching porn on his city laptop. You can see the public comment here.

Let’s make sure we all know what this resolution is about. It has absolutely nothing to do with “christian family values”. If it did they would have included the call for banning books on those having an affair, or getting divorce violating the sanctity of marriage, or those who lie on a daily basis, or those who pork a porn star, pay her off, and lie about it to voters. It has nothing to do with wholesome christian family values.

In the first version of the resolution there was a clear attack on the gay community. That language was removed in the modified version but, as the old saying goes, when they tell you who they are, believe them. This is an attack on our families, friends, teachers, students, and others in the community. As in the 1930’s they have picked a group of people to be the enemy. It didn’t end well.

This resolution is no different than the resolution’s being passed in other white wing city councils. The Council will eventually spend your tax dollars to defend this in a lawsuit which they will lose.

This is who they are.
